Hi all! Since our true 3rd stop on our New England Cruise to Bar Harbor, Maine was skipped due to weather, we headed straight to our next stop in Canada – Saint John. I absolutely love and adore this cute town. It reminded me a bit of the towns you see in movies and everyone is so friendly. The preserved brick buildings line the city along with old church buildings.
The one spot I knew I wanted to visit was the Reversing Rapids. This is where the oceans meets the river and depending on the tides and time of the day the Rapids will flow in either direction or be calm for 20 minutes so boats can pass. This all happens naturally.
The other thing I learned is that clear or white smoke from industrial buildings is clean but if you see color of any kind, it pollutes the air.
We did not have time to watch the full circle but I could easily see staying all day to watch.
The next stop was to visit this tower, where we learned how to fire a musket and snap pictures overlooking the city.
One cool thing Canada is doing to celebrate their 150 year birthday is allowing free admission to all their National Parks and exhibits.
My camera definitely doesn’t capture how beautiful the view is.
Our your guide did an awesome job driving us all over New Brunswick telling us stories and sharing a bit of history before dropping us off at City Market.
This is a large indoor Farmers Market that is covered with maple leaves that all the kids decorated. I scored so many cool things to bring back. Maple everything…candies, cookies, syrup and my new favorite Maple Butter. I also bought a coupe souvenirs and Lays Ketchup Chips!!The Husband requested burgers for lunch so we headed to Burgerology. I love them for having this sign. True!
On our way back to the Pier, we bought a Beaver Tail – this is a pastry made in Canada that was recommended by our guide.
Beaver Tails are amazing! Fried doughy bread topped with butter and your choice of 8 different toppings. We kept it simple with cinnamon and sugar.
It literally melts in your moth and tastes a little like a churro. We walked around Market Square a bit checking out the shops, outdoor dining area, band, local artists and Light Houses.
Before heading to dinner, we watched our ship set sail and this sunset.
Daily Snap Recap:
I got a little crazy with my ears and treats but I’m not going to stress on it. We walked a bunch to hopefully balance it out a bit.
B: Scrambled eggs with salsa, bacon, watermelon
L: Cheeseburger and sweet potato fries

D: bread x’2 with butter, Shrimp & Papaya Salad, Grilled Lobster with lemon (I asked for it cooked without butter) then I skipped the carb and asked for asparagus and mushrooms instead
