Happy Friday all!! I am having so much fun sharing our Norwegian 9 Day Southern Caribbean Cruise pictures with you all. It totally makes me want to go back again (power outage and all!) đ I honestly think that our trip just got better with each island we visited. We had quite the adventure on stop #1 Samana and we LOVED checking out the caves on stop #2 Tortola.
Stop # 3 was at St. Johnâs ~ Antigua, not to be confused with St. Johnâs that is over by St. Thomas (they should just call this island Antigua, huh?)
It was sort of entertaining to watch this little tiny boat guide our big ship into the port. The Captain must have some serious side mirrors to see these guys đ
We pulled right up to the port where they had a ton of ships, yachtâs and shops.
Check out the Pirate boat on the left ~ fun! You can take that boat out for the day to experience life as a Pirate (I am sure with enough RUM PUNCHES, you probably think you are a pirate too â LOL).
They had this cool band entertaining everyone on shore. All those black metal barrels are drums that make that familiar Caribbean sound. They were awesome!
We took an excursion on this island that started off by giving us a tour of the island. In addition to hearing all about the history, culture and lifestyle, we saw some fantastic architecture.
CHURCHES!
All the houses and businesses around the island are painted in bright colors. Our guide said the owners often change colors every 2-3 months.
This house is own by a 97 year old man and his house has remained standing after 3 hurricanes. He actually waits them all out in his house. 2 months ago he changed the color from pink â funny!
The one stadium on the island where they host all their sporting events.
The palm trees all had these red berry things growing for them. I have no clue what they are, but, I thought it was cool randomness that they just grew like that.
Our first stop was at The Lookout. This is where the Guards would watch for all the boats coming in.
The views are AMAZING ~ I could totally get paid to look at this all day đ
The 2nd stop on our tour took us to Nelsons Dockyard and National Park. This yard is not only a historic point, but, today it is known for Yacht week. Yacht week happens once a year when all the Yachtâs sale in for one week in April and hang out.
All of the original brick buildings have been maintained/restored.
Several of the buildings have been turned into stores where the locals make different crafts that they sell. This store was pretty cool because each piece is handmade out of the different types of wood found on the island.
I didnât know phone booths were still used, but, this had a working pay phone inside.
The Husband LOVED the mini cannons and the sun dial that actually still works.
While at the Dockyard, we checked 0out the Naval Officerâs museum.
These were shutters from one of the ships where sailorâs carved their names in the wood.
Sleep quarters.
We had the chance to be sailors too đ
The last stop on our excursion was to Millerâs By The Sea where we had lunch ~ A Caribbean BBQ that I somehow managed to not take ANY pictures of despite our picture overload. (Bad food blogger!) It was delicious (BBQ Chicken, beans/rice, salad, fruit, RUM punch!
After lunch, we swam in the ocean and fell asleep in our lounge chairs ~ it was awesome and the beach is BEAUTIFUL! The sand is so soft that it is like powder without any rocks in it at all. This was the first beach we visited on all the islands that reminded us of Anguilla the island we were married on last year.
We reluctantly got back onto the bus and headed into town for some shopping. The Husband decided he wants to buy one of these mini vans because he is bigger than it LOL. The bus we rode around in wasnât much bigger either.
We hopped back on board and sailed away to another sunset.
Whew ~ that was ALOT of pictures. I shouldâve forewarned you all that I let The Husband have the camera for alot of the day on this island. He is super picture snappy đ
We both agreed that we would go back to visit St. Johnâs Antigua, but, tomorrowâs island is by far our FAVORITE for the trip ~ Cruise Stop #4 ~ Barbados!
Have any of you been to St. Johnâs Antigua? What did you do and what did you think of it?
Nite all!

Water is so blue!
Old churches are my favorite if we had any in my town I would definitely go more often.
Love the old buildings and the fun colors. I think everyone must be happier with bright colored houses to look at every day!

Ohhh my what a beautiful island. That sand and blue water reminds me of the beach in Negril, Jamaica. Can’t wait. I’m dying over here LOL That sure looks like an island we would enjoy. Oh yea and my hubby is also snap happy when it comes to pictures. Comes back every year with over 1000, it’s crazy!
So fun hearing all about your vacation. I wonder if my weight loss/fitness blog readers would want to hear about our trip and see pictures. Hmmmm it would be so much fun to recall it all after we get back. We’ll see!
Thanks for sharing your vacation, can’t wait to see Barbados.

Your trip looks amazing! I’m trying to plan a vacation right now too! Where did you find the deal for your vacation? Was it super expensive? We’re thinking of either an all-inclusive trip to Mexico or possibly going to the Grand Bahama Islands.
Also, keep up the awesome work on your blog. I love all your recipes!
