Hi all! How are you doing? We have had a blast in San Diego this week. I wanted to pop in to say Hiya and share a few of my favorite snaps so far.
The first thing on my list when we arrived was to go to the Hill Crest farmers market to stock up on some great produce for the week. Such a fun market with a ton of vendors selling everything. It reminds me alot of the San Fran farmers market at the fairy building.
My second thing to check off….Heading to the ocean. We walked the 1,971 foot Pier in Ocean Beach then strolled the shops in this fun, surfer town.
Yep, we totally bought an entire flat of berries for the week, asparagus, fiery Pepperjack cheese, lime & sea salt almonds, this super cool Vegan, Chipotle Almond Spread that’s like hummus and black eyed peas that I can’t wait to make. I resisted all the street vendors serving up breakfast/lunch eats.
The next day we headed to the gold mining town of Julian where The Husband got Mom’s Pie and I got this thing called an Apple Memory… Cinnamon Sugar Cookie made from pie dough. So glad I only bought one – it was amazing! We also drove all over before ending up in Oceanside for more wave watching and then to Barona to check out the casino.
We decided on the San Diego Wild Life Safari Park instead of the Zoo and I have to say, it’s totally worth it! I could’ve watched the baby gorillas playing and the Lemurs doing their yoga in the morning sun all day long. I took way more than this but thought I’d share just a few. My favorite thing might’ve been the free tram ride that went out into the Safari to see and learn about even more animals.
Today we went to Old Town for some delicious Mexican food, the Gas Lamp District and went to Seaport to see the ocean, harbor and ships then we tried fresh salt water taffy being made right in front of us.
Here are a few of my favorite eats. We’ve made breakfast in each morning with eggs, berries and grabbed cappuccino’s for our drive. Snacks have been nuts (usually 1/2 a pack but no more than 1/4 cup) of nuts like these lime & salt nuts I’ve found down here. Lunches are a salad anywhere we go and dinner I’m obsessed with the anything containing grilled shrimp and the Miso Sea Bass that I’ve found at a few places. Can you believe I even managed to find a decent salad at the animal park (the BBQ chicken salad)?!
We still have visits to Coronado (driving over the tall 2 mile long bridge to get to the peninsula), Del Mar and La Jolla for more beaches, shopping, sunshine and delicious eats planned. I am so glad to be out of the rain and in the 70 degrees of sunshine. There is just something about the ocean that I love and will never get enough of….
I will catch up with you all later. Make sure you enter my BFD giveaway before Friday for your chance to win your own fun #BreakfastNight kit.
Night all!

When I was a child, my grandma always made homemade pies… Apricot was my favorite. She baked me a big cookie with cinnamon and sugar on it from the leftover pie crust!

You should take the ferry over to Coronado totally worth it, I think it’s $7 RT.
