Dinner A La The Husband ;)

December 3, 2010 by DanicasDaily 10 Comments

Happy Friday all!  Thanks for all the great ideas this week on things to avoid (Points Plus Shockers & Surprises) and things to enjoy (your favorite go to snacks).  I totally know some things I will be adding to my MUST HAVE list this weekend when I meal plan.

I think we might have the Weight Watchers Support Group up and running by the end of the weekend (fingers crossed!!!)  I guess I am just so excited and not so “technically” inclined that I thought it could go faster. Smile I really appreciate your patience and have a feeling it’s going to be well worth the wait.  Zesty is doing an AWESOME job!

This morning I was rushing out the door so I forgot to snap pictures of my cereal mix so you all will just have to go by my pictures.

1 serving Nature’s Path Organic Flax Plus Multi-Bran Flakes (3 points+)

IMG_2728

Topped with 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Spice Granola (1 point+)

IMG_2729

Plus a 1 cup nonfat milk (2 pts+) and a FREEEEEE BANANA! I am sure you area all surprised by that addition LOL.

IMG_2732

I was actually hungry for a mid morning snack (cereal ALWAYS does that to me), but, somehow work kept me so busy I never had tine to stop for it.

I couldn’t wait to dig into my leftover Spinach & Tortellini Soup! HUGE BOWLS of pasta & veggies for only 6 pointsplus = HAPPINESS!

IMG_2739

The Husband told  me I wasn’t allowed to stop by Trader Joe’s on my way home because he had “plans” for dinner for us.  For those of you who don’t know, he has only cooked for me about 5 times in like 8 years Smile

Imagine my surprise when I walked in to see THIS!!!!

IMG_2744

I LOVE BLTA’S ~ I mean, what’s not to LOVE about BACON + AVOCADO!

* 2 Slices Trader Joe’s Fat Free Multi-Grain Bread (only 3 points+ – YES!)

* Organic Spinach Leaves(0 points+!)

* 1/4 AVOCADO! (3 points+)

* 2 BIG Organic Tomato Slices (0 points+!)

* 2 slices Trader Joe’s Uncured Apple Wood Smoked Bacon (4 points+ but worth it!)

IMG_2755

He totally gets major points for decorating the plate with pickles and olives.  You actually get 6 olives for (1 points+) and pickles are FREE!

IMG_2743

Dessert was on the right!  1 Tablespoon Biscoff Spread (2 points+) & a BIG Fuji apple!

I have noticed I now buy the BIGGEST PIECES OF FRUIT I can find since they are ZERO points!

IMG_2752

I am pretty content right now, but, I know I have a few more points I can use tonight for dessert!  I can’t believe it’s day 4 and I haven’t used a single extra Weekly Points Allowance!

I am not sure what our plans are for tonight but The Husband is restless after whipping up such a tasty meal.  There are talks of bowling to earn some “fun” activity points, but, I seem to always beat him Winking smile

HAPPPPPPY WEEKEND ALL!

    We can have 10 pt meals!!!! I had sausage roll-ups last night for 10 points and was so excited! That sandwich looks AWESOME!

    I have 6 pts left after dinner and could totally go for a bowl of your soup. I will definitely have to do some menu planning this weekend. I’ve been ok without planning since we eat so cleanly anyway but planning will be even better! Can’t wait to see the site. Let me know if you need any help!

    I’m planning on rejoining Weight Watchers in the next week, to become familiar with the new program. Since joining 4 years ago, after having a baby, I made goal and got lifetime. I haven’t gained much weight back, but I want to understand the new program. Besides my husband says, I cook better for the family if I do Weight Watchers. My problem is I have given up gluteen for health reasons. Do you think weight watchers is possible this condition?

    Hi Mandi,

    Sorry for the delay in getting to your question. I am just now getting caught up on emails. Absolutely, I definitely think that Weight Watchers can work with any dietary limitations, including Gluten. You simply eat the way you would, sans gluten, and count your points+. There are no special menus or foods that you have to follow as with other programs.

    I hope that helps and if you have started on Weight Watchers, I’d love to know how it is going for you with your gluten limitations. If not, I say, sign up today, you won’t regret it 🙂
