Happy FRIDAY EVE all! I am sure you are all wondering about my title. If you are a blogger, after you read on, you will know exactly what I mean and I hope I am not the only who thinks “in blog”. If you are not, then, you all just might get a little chuckle about how my brain works all day long.
I find myself having animated conversations in my head ALL DAY long thinking about how I will tell you all about my day, what delicious thing I ate, a funny event that happened or new product I found. You see it isn’t just about food or obsessing over which placemat I used last or and if I need to “add” something to make it look “prettier”.
I can’t tell you how many random plates, cups, bowls and things like my bamboo silverware I own because I cannot WAIT to use them for a recipe or picture. I will pick things up in the store and say out loud…..”Oh, this would look so good with this recipe or how cute are these, I totally NEED to get them, you know, for the blog!”
You see, it doesn’t stop there….as I am making a recipe, my camera gets covered in what’s for dinner as I snap a bazillion pictures, the “voices” in my head are talking and telling you all the story how I made it.
It usually starts first thing when I wake up in the morning, my brain turns on and starts thinking about what would be good to eat BEFORE I even get out of bed LOL.
Crockpot Peach Steel Cut Oats with 1 Tbsp Whipped Butter & 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar (7 PP)
At times, I find myself randomly whipping out my camera to show you all the awesome sunrise I saw….
Or randomly shooting pictures while driving home from the Farmer’s Market because I can’t wait to show you the funniest bike I’ve ever seen…..
Then again, I am pretty sure only “bloggers” get so excited to see the Wiener Mobile in the grocery store parking lot, that they do a U-turn, just so they can take a picture to share LOL.
It doesn’t stop there either I actually “think about” and “focus” on how my BANANA Frozen Yogurt “pipes” into my container and I pick toppings that stand out in pictures. Then, my brain says, ok, now, for a colorful background and I totally use the yogurt shops Jelly Belly ad ( 7 PP)
I honestly think at today’s lunch, I might have “learned” my lesson. I just had boring romaine lettuce, no tomatoes, no peppers or cucumbers….nothing that adds color except Trader Joe’s Spicy Peanut Dressing. (2 PP)
So…drum roll, I added CRUSHED RED PEPPER flakes…not a little, but, enough for them to show up in the picture and you know, add color!
HOLY HOTNESS…although, it did help me get in 32 ounces of water at lunch!
I actually “thought” about putting my Crockpot Split Pea Soup in a cup but, decided you all had already seen it like that the last time I made it. (7 PP)
When I got home, I thought, OMG, this will be such a great “blog topic” tonight.
I can tell everyone how The Husband and his friend requested “dinner” and instead of taking the easy way out and BUYING pizza. I made a “build a pizza bar” for Healthy Flat Out Amazing Mushroom & Mini Turkey Pepperoni Pizzas because you all know I have a thing for all “mini things” and I have been dying to use my mini Turkey Pepperoni’s ever since I bought them .(7 PP)
As I am making up my salad, I think of “what colors” I have it in ~ topped with my favorite dressing of the moment ~ 1 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette (2 pp)
Then, pretty much because I can and it would be another fun picture since I felt like I didn’t really have any today, I whipped up Yellow Cupcakes with Homemade Chocolate frosting as dessert for the boys.
I am not going to lie…I didn’t have a cupcake, but, I DID like the beaters and I RESISTED taking a picture (2 PP just in case).
Sometimes, I can’t wait to blog just so I can share some FUN THINGS with you all:

I think my post tonight sounded better in my head while I was doing dishes LOL….but, there you have it….I usually come up with my posts all day long as I think “in blog” and listen to the voices in my head.
Night all!
P.S. I promise, I didn’t put anything in the crockpot to cook tonight

Whew! Glad I’m not the only one who thinks “in blog”!!! I’m often crafting my post in my head as I go through the day, but then when I finally sit down to write at night, I forgot most of what I wanted to say! LOL! Old age will do that to ya 🙂
I’m looking forward to trying out your crockpot oats, the split pea soup and the awesome carrot cake cupcakes that you posted on Friends For Weight Loss!
Thanks for all you do, Danica. I know the time and energy it takes to blog and I really appreciate the work you put into yours!
Rhonda says
I”m not a blogger but I do have animated conversations with myself, glad I am not the only one who does that. The bamboo silverware looks great in that picture!! Love the bike!! You don’t see that everyday. I put the split pea soup in the crock pot last night, and woke up three times smelling the wonderful aroma, can’t wait for dinner. I really enjoy your blog!!

great post! i already think “in blog.” i’ll draft posts in my head while i’m running errands or laying in bed at night. and i have already noticed myself changing up my meals because i don’t want to show the same thing over and over even though i’m notorious for eating the same thing day in and day out.

I am not a blogger, but I must say that I have found your topics pretty interesting and today’s made me laugh loads of times (not good when I am at work).
I too LOVE steel oats, so I am going to go to the store tonight to purchase frozen peaches, so I can try this.
Keep up the good work Danica. I love going to your blog on a daily basis to find out what cool adventures you are having in sunny California (as appose to being in snowy cold Canada).

I don’t know if I am there yet…sometime I think to myself..this would be a funny to blog about..so maybe I do think “in blog”…the blogs I read are always put together and so well read…I write off the top of my head..everything. I don’t plan anything..except picture usually…
I don’t do much food on mine…maybe if/when I do…I plan it out more!?!

Loved your post and yes I do the same thing all day long, I swear I wake up doing it! Loved the Blog today and thank you so very much for the print out of the Power Food Favorites, there are a couple in there I really want to try! Again thank you so much , you have become a God send, and Hope you day goes well!
Carrie says
I think “in-blog” but not because I want other people to read it, but because I want to save it for myself! It’s more because I think “Hey, I want to remember this for later!” rather than “wow, people will love seeing my food” 😉 Kind of like my own personal scrapbook. I think that’s what you meant, right? I LOVE going back and reading old blog entries from like 5 years ago. It’s amazing to pick up tips from way back when and seeing how they apply today. It’s also a lot of fun to see how I’ve “grown” from those posts.
So to answer, YES, I’m constantly thinking “in blog” and it’s good to know I’m not the only one that does that! 🙂
Thanks for the awesome photos Danica!!

Wow, love your Blog and the pictures. I can’t wait till I get it. I love your ideas of what you have for the day and the recipes. Thanks so much for doing this !!!
Josie says
I love that you think in blog! I have always wanted to do a blog of my own but figure my life is not that exciting. I get up in the am and check you first with my coffee to see what you have blogged about! 🙂
mary (what's cookin' with mary) says
You make me smile Danica! 🙂
I totally do the same thing!! When I have some ingredients in the fridge for something (like I made and blogged about last night) and I don’t have ‘pretty toppings’ it makes me sad LOL. I had SO wished I hadn’t used all of my cilantro and avocado the day before. And when I am creatign a recipe, I always like to choose ingredients that will ‘look pretty’ and colorful in a picture.
I need to get more dishes ?!
Jen says
YES! I think “blog” all day long!!! Have a great weekend Danica 🙂

I totally think in blog form. I just picked up some new dishes JUST for food photos. And all day long, I am crafting topics in my head for the blog. Crazy.
I do live in Atlanta! It would be great to meet you. 🙂

Haha, I think in blog all the time!! Looking at my dinner tonight, I was thinking I should take a photo and blog about my very ORANGE dinner (sweet potatoes, carrots, orange pepper…oh and white chicken!)…but I didn’t…should have though 🙂
nicole says
danica, you rock! first off, i think it’s illegal to NOT lick your beaters. and kudos to you on not eating a cupcake, because they look flipping fabulous! took at trip with my mom and drove out to trader joe’s because of you 🙂 we specifically bought the Trader Joe’s Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette. holy hannah, best stuff ever! had it for lunch and dinner in a simple salad mixture with corn, black beans, and grilled chicken strips. and a little bit goes a long way…. where has that stuff been all my life?!?! does it make you retain water? i’m wondering if it may. kraft has a light toasted sesame dressing that makes me retain water, only usually for a day and a half but nonetheless, it screws up the scale the morning after. love your daily tales!!!! keep them coming!!! ps- if you want a great weight loss story (which would shock the heck out of my mom because she checks your blog daily) hers is a great one. nearly 100 pounds, all WW, no surgery… anyway, let me know and i can email you pics/details. 🙂

Haha, this is great. I love that you think “In Blog” because it keeps me coming back day after day. I LOVE reading your posts!! Thank you for being so wonderful 😀
Melissa Cohoe says
I completely “get” this post! Although I haven’t mastered blogging EVERY day, you are inspiration for me to post more!
Lea @ Healthy Coconut says
I take more pictures now, that’ what has changed in terms of thinking “in blog”. I post things because I want to clear it out my head and if I post about it, I don’t have to remember it because it’s on the blog I can always do “a search” within my own life on the blog. Not sure if that made sense 🙂 In some ways, my life is easier because of the blog but in a some ways, it has become challenging with scheduling to. I have so much to say but unfortunately, not enough time to write about it.
Funny picture of the bike, I should share it to my niece.
Lori says
I know this is an old post, but you linked to it in today’s post & OMG – LOL. I thought I was the only one who did this all day long. I don’t even get to post daily, but I still find myself “thinking in blog”.
