Eat, Repeat

April 4, 2013 by DanicasDaily 21 Comments

Happy Friday Eve all!  Thanks for all the congrats on Meatless March.  I am so excited so many of you want to join in on Meatless Mondays.  It is going to be awesome sharing ideas, recipes and encouraging each other to go Vegetarian one day a week ~ Love it!

I am not sure what it is about this week, but, I am starving.  Usually my Healthy Egg Roll keeps me going all morning, but, today, after waiting 15 minutes I was still hungry.  I decided to add in a banana and that seemed to do the trick for about 3 hours. (SF+1 WPA) – 5 points+

IMG_3665

I knew I wouldn’t make it through Body Pump and couldn’t eat lunch before.  So, I grabbed the new Fage 0% with Apple Cinnamon and Raisins I have been wanting to try.

IMG_3708

Same great stats and ingredients. (SF + 1 WPA for the fruit topper) – 3 points+

IMG_3709

WOW!  This might be my new favorite flavor ~ it takes just like an apple pie – loaded with cinnamon, apples and raisins (only a couple for those who don’t like them).  I am totally going back this weekend to buy more!

IMG_3711

Lunch went together this morning in about 2 minutes flat!  I t definitely helps when you just dump everything in a bowl ~ no cutting required Open-mouthed smile

IMG_3714

I actually thought I’d cut the peppers up at the office and make it pretty….

IMG_3715

But, when it came down to it ~ I was starving after Body Pump and just needed to eat!

Organic Mixed Greens with 1 Tbsp pistachios, 1 1/2 Tbsp Dried Berries, 1 Tbsp Balsamic and mini peppers with a Sargento Cheese on the side. (SF+ 1 WPA) – 4 points+

IMG_3716

All together with a container of my Butternut Squash Soup that I had in the freezer.  Perfect for a rainy day when I had nothing planned for lunch. (SF) – 4 points+

IMG_3720

I am super proud of myself for this one ~ When I came back from working out at lunch, my co-worker was really sweet and left me this gigantic snicker doodle cookie (my favorite kind!)

IMG_3712

Instead of inhaling it all (which I totally could’ve done today!), I cut a small triangle and shared it with everyone else ~ Success! (SF + 2 WPA) – 2 points+

IMG_3713

Mid afternoon snackage ~ told ya, some days…..I picked up these snack size Wonderful Pistachios at Target awhile back to carry with me whenever I needed a quick, healthy snack.

IMG_3696

4 points+ for the entire package!

IMG_3699

You get a really decent amount.  It paired perfectly with my two cuties.

IMG_3701

Dinner was almost an exact repeat of lunch.  The Husband had to meet up with one of his chip collecting buddies to trade chips, so we ended up at Mary’s Pizza Shack for dinner.

We started off splitting this gigantic Mary’s Salad ~ I pretty much ate half of it with ranch fork dipped on the side. (SF + 2 WPA) – 6 points+

IMG_3728

I really pondered what to do when our waitress brought out both ~ Hot Sour Dough with butter…..

IMG_3724

And Pesto Bread Sticks!! I figured if I am going to have some bready goodness, then, let it be a pesto stick! (SF + 4 WPA) – 4 points+ for one.

IMG_3732

Then, I moved onto a cup of Minestrone that I doused with….crushed red pepper flakes! Happiness in a bowl ~ (SF) – 3 points+

IMG_3731

In other sad news ~ my Active Link clip officially broke tonight Sad smile  I do not think WW sells extra parts either so it might be the end of AL and time to try something new?

STATS:

  • Active Link ~ 1 Activity Points, 86% of my goal ~ I think Body Pump earned me more than that.
  • 35 daily points+
  • SF + 9 WPA, 20 WPA remaining

Night all!

You can have my AL if you would like… : ) it didn’t provide me with the detailed info I would have liked…. I’m pretty happy with just my pedometer. Not much detail but pretty good info.

Same thing here…..I’ll mail you mine if you want it! Just email me your address…honestly ..you’re welcome to it! Loved it at first but then realized it wasn’t really doing me any good. I exercise plenty and try not to eat the activity points so its was a waste of $$ for me and I just canceled it with WW.

Can’t wait to try the new Fage flavor! I never got on the AcitveLink bandwagon. It will be interesting to see if you think there is a difference with the next thing you try. Happy Friday!

I’m just waiting for the day my AL falls off and I lose it completely. I’ve had a couple close calls recently. I think I’m already resigned to it, and I don’t think I’d miss it much, honestly. I don’t feel like it’s been doing that much to help.

I’ve read that not many people are very happy with AL. Maybe you won’t miss it. Lol Maybe you needed more protein at lunch to hold you over. Not that it matters. You handled it well. I just know on my blog when I don’t have much protein and say I was hungry all day, everyone points it out to me . So here I am pointing it out to you! Haha! Those bread sticks looks completely amazing!

That Fage yogurt sounds delicious! Is it a new flavor? I haven’t seen it in any of the grocery stores around me.

      HI Lea,

Yes, I believe it’s a new flavor of FAGE. I found it at Target only.

WW seem to be pushing the AL right now at meetings. But if they are going to market it so aggressively they should a) make sure the product is built to last a reasonable amount of time & b) have replacement parts available.

I will not be buying one – I object to the monthly fee to enable me to use a product that I have paid for.

I agree with you. You already paid for the AL, why should you have to pay another 5.00?

I’ve been using my AL with the alternate holder (with a hole in it for a lanyard). I use a camera wrist strap and attach it to my bra (by looping it through itself) and I then just stick it inside my bra. If you still have that second holder you could definitely try that!

Re: your daily points. I love to look at the food you eat each day – it looks so yummy! But I see that you are usually around 36 points each day. Are we not only allowed 26 points? Or are you using up your weekly points allowance? at any rate, are you slowly losing weight or just maintaining? I am losing about 1 lb a week…slow but steady and my meals don’t look half as good as yours do!

      Hi Linda,

When I got over my daily target it, I count it against my extra 49 Weekly Points Allowance (WPA) allowed each week. I have found that it really depends on the person – some people can get away with using the extra WPA and losing weight while others cannot. It’s all about finding the balance that works best for you. If you are exercising alot do you eat your activity points? For me personally, I can use one or the other (WPA or Activity Points). The average maintainable weight loss is .5 – 2.0 lbs a week – so you are right on track.

Just imagine how awesome it would be to lose 1 lb a week for a year – that’s 52 lbs! Sometimes that helps to think of it in other way.s

      Keep up the good work,

      Danica

Do you weigh meat raw or cooked to get the points plus total? The book says 4oz pork chop no bone is 4 points plus but it doesn’t say if that is raw or cooked. Can you help?
    Thank you!

      HI Kelley,

It depends. I count hte meat in whatever way I am using it. If I am adding say one pound to a recipe raw, I calculate the entire recipe that way. If I am eating something cooked, I calculate it at cooked meat. Most pork is 1 oz for 1 points+ whether raw or cooked. Sometimes when using the book you have to make assumptions like that for similar products.

      Hope that helps,

      Danica

From what I understand you cannot use someone elses AL. And I was told you can order another clip. Call the number for Phillips and check with them or ask your leader if she knows where to order one for you! If nothing else maybe those that don’t want their AL ( which I sometimes understand that feeling!) then maybe they can send you their clip!!

Thanks for the tip. The folks at Phillips sell it for $6.99 with free shipping.
