Happy Tuesday all! I think it’s safe to say that you all are both Planners and Do-ers but also flexible if plans change. I know whenever I am tempted to NOT PLAN and just wing it (which believe it or not happens more often than it should for me), I remember this one quote I read somewhere:
“If you fail to plan, then, you plan to fail!”
It’s simple, but, true…..it usually helps me make sure I have healthy options to grab on hand even if I don’t have time to do the full meal plan.
I really thought I’d have another Cheesy Sausage Breakfast Burrito, but, when, I woke up all I wanted want this…..
and this……
PB & Banana Smiles = happiness at 5 am (6 points+)
I couldn’t decide on what workout I wanted to do today, so I did a little of everything.
* 10 minutes of power walking on the treadmill
* 10 minutes of 2/2 interval jog/walks
* 10 minutes climbing one HUGE hill on the Elliptical. I put the cross ramp on 20, then, climbed higher each minute, starting with a resistance of 10 and going to 20.
The BEST part ~ I LOVE it and it made my workout fly by.
Post workout snack (3 points+)
I couldn’t wait to dig into lunch today…Maybe knowing how good this is made me even hungrier.
Crockpot Split Pea Soup (7 points+)
Crunchy Greens & Apple Salad ~ I absolutely LOVE this salad ~ it has such great texture….sweet, tart, crunchy, chewy, nutty and it’s only 3 points+!
My mouth really wanted something like bread or crackers. I have been eyeing these Santa Fe Salsa Somersaults ever since I first saw them in the snack machine. I have tried the other flavors and LOVED them.
4 points+ for 1/2 the bag or 2 points+ for 1/4 of the bag.
OR 4 for 1 points+! These totally reminded me of the flavored sun flowered seeds made into a cracker. They totally satisfied my cracker crunching craving.
Midafternoon started with some melon….
And ended with a small FF Cappuccino! I had to get one last item for our Sustainability game tomorrow and this cup, holder and lid was it
I LOVE it when work justifies my latte obsession. (2 points+
I also LOVE it when we have enough leftovers so I don’t have to cook!
Another serving of BACON Vegetable Baked Tortellini (11 points+)

What is one NEW FOOD FIND you have discovered that you feel is totally worth the calories/points+?
Ummm, for me, it’s that Cappuccino!
Night all!

Almond butter is definitely worth the calories in my book. It’s not new by any means, but is the one food item I’m not willing to give up.

I don’t mean to disappoint you but I don’t see how you’re getting a 0 from those nutritionals! 0 fat, 10g CHO, 0g Fiber, 8g Protein, is coming up with 2 points to me.
I’m totally obsessed with grilled corn (like I am every summer) and completely consider it worth the points. Also Pirate’s booty!

Robyn ~ Thanks so much for letting me know. I shouldn’t post when I am tired…I put the protein in the fiber spot..so you know, if you cappuccino has 8 g fiber, it’s 0 LOL oops!
I fixed it!

Mmmmm melon! I think thick hearty bagels are totally worth the calories once in awhile – I try not to eat them too often, as they are kind of a calorie bomb, especially when I throw scrambled eggs on top 🙂

Okay…first let me say that thanks to you, I am now totally addicted to baconwiches. Two nights in a row I have made it for dinner. It’s sweet, salty, and delicious!!
Okay, is the tortillini recipe really that good?? The reason I ask is because I’m debating getting a Sam’s membership. So I guess the better question would be if Sam’s is worth having a membership??
Sarah S says
Oh…two more questions??
Are you a morning person?? And what time do you go to bed?? The reason I ask is because I am NOT a morning person…at all…but i need to figure out when I can exercise because after work I am always tired and not feeling it.

Totally bought some sausage (veggie) patties yesterday after seeing all of your yummy breakfasts… Nom Nom, can’t wait.

The goat cheese medallions from Trader Joe’s. Paired with some Wheat Thins Tuscan Herb flatbread for an afternoon snack. A bit higher in points than I usually do for a snack, but so yummy.
As an aside, I’m eating my lunch right now and thought I’d pass on this tip- I made the Chicken Tamale Casserole after seeing it on your site. We’re vegetarians and I used crumbled extra firm tofu instead of chicken. Just mixed the tofu with the enchilada sauce and spread it on top of the cornbread part. So good!
Love your blog!

I’m making that crunchy salad for our church potluck on Friday! I’m excited and I can’t wait to try it! xoxo

I love your smiling breakfasts!!! And aren’t somersaults the BEST!? I could eat the whole bag in one sitting. Hope you are enjoying your day Danica.

Those melons look so ripe and juicy , love them especially in summer. I sometimes will have a regular babybel cheese instead of the light one although most the time I am happy with the light. I just love cheese and have to watch it!

Hi Sarah,
I personally LOVE that tortellini recipe (& baconwiches!). It is creamy, bacony-y, chewy, cheesy and just really good. You could buy the fresh tortellini in the grocery store if you wanted to do it.
I LOVE my Sam’s Club membership more than Costco. I have always had either one or the other even when I was single and found I could always use it. You can get excellent deals on produce. The big 1 LB plastic tub of Organic Salad Greens is $3.47. I also buy my Pacific Foods Organic Chicken Broth, some sauces and frozen things (like shrimp) there. Oh, and string cheese ~ you can get those babybell, cabot or sargento 32+ packs of it for like $10. I pay $5 for a 12 pack at trader joes. The BEST part too is that I can give my Husband a card too at no additional cost.
Let me know if you have any other specific questions about Sam’s or the recipe or what not 🙂
I am a morning person ~ always have been. I can’t sleep in much past 7 on the weekends even if I try or if I stay up late. I am up at 5 am and usually go to bed around 10, give/take. I LOVE my morning workouts (even when I am not feeling it like today) because I can check it off my list and I cannot talk myself out of it b/c I am tired or I have things to do. Usually once you get going with your workout, you wake up and its honestly better than coffee. I know for me personally my best times to workout are in the AM or at lunchtime. If I wait until after work, I just don’t have a good workout. I am tired/not into it and it just seems forced.
I really think you have to find what works best for you. I have a few friends who have tried to be morning persons working out and it worked and others who felt like I do in the afternoons so evening workouts work for them.
