I spent most of Saturday stocking up us for the week and planning our meals. I am so excited at all the fun finds I have to share with you all along with recipes I can’t wait to make.
Several of you were interested in the Spicy Chicken Sausages that I made on Friday night. While I typically buy all my sausages at Trader Joe’s since they are the least processed, I bought this version at Sam’s Club. Their ingredients are 100% natural and there isn’t anything funky in them. You get 15 in a pack which is awesome since you can freeze them and take them out as needed.
Great stats!
Yesterday I woke up starving so I decided I needed a filling breakfast that included protein plus carbs. I started off with a “fried” egg cooked in nonstick spray with sea salt & pepper.
With TJ’s FF Multi-Grain Toast & Whipped Butter. I LOVE THIS BREAD!
Before I headed off to the Farmer’s Market The Husband offered up a “you fly, I’ll buy” for Starbuck’s. Of course, I’ll pick him up a Starbuck’s to get one for FREE! A tall ff decaf latte with caramel drizzle on top ~ MMMMM!
I scored some AMAZING fall produce at the market that I cannot wait to eat up! I stocked up at my favorite organic vendor. My bag over flowed with HUGE organic swiss chard and Russian Kale.
Fun round Organic Squash & Zucchini
These little organic pumpkin squashes are called Sweet Dumpling Squashes. I am intrigued to try them – she said they taste just like acorn or butternut squash with a pumpkin kick. I think I am going to make a black bean chili to pour over top after I roast these – YUM!
Organic carrots just picked that day.
Organic Green Beans
Cantaloupe!
Persimmons. I have never had a persimmon before so I am venturing out to try them. I just learned yesterday from my Mom that there are 2 types – ones you bake with and ones you eat……I wonder which I got?
The last thing I stocked up on since next week is the last week 🙁 is Crunchy Almond Butter from the Nut Barn.
When I got back, I planned out our meals for the entire week and picked up a few things at Trader Joe’s. I am so excited for all the fun things I have planned – can’t wait to share! Lunch was quick and AWESOME and only 5 Weight Watcher Points!
2 slices TJ’s FF Multi-Grain Bread
Sweet & Spicy Mustard
1 oz each lean turkey & ham
1 slice Sargento 2% Swiss
Cucumber Chips
Toasted!
Crunch on the side
Dessert was an elephant plum that I picked up at Apple Hill last weekend. The Husband stole half. This….
Turned into this! Isn’t the color awesome? It was so sweet and crunchy that I wish we bought more.
At the store I picked up more of those HUGE Seedless Holiday Grapes. I am not sure if California is the only place they grow them, but, this is what the bag looks like.
They are like 3 x’s the size of a quarter.
I also picked up the next flavor of the Yoplait Delights Parfait ~ Lemon Torte! Thanks Yoplait!
Each container is only 2 Weight Watchers points and it counts as a dairy serving!
I had one for my afternoon snack with a TJ’s Almond Windmill and TJ’s Dark Chocolate thingy :) I LOVED it ~ it’s super lemony with a creamy vanilla yogurt on top – delish! I’d buy these again!
The Husband was snacking on some of the TJ’s Parmesan Garlic Pita Chips I bought him and I stole a few.
So addictingly good, but, I cannot be trusted around these chips since I do not think I could eat just the 9 chip serving.
Dinner was super easy and delicious! I whipped up a Low-Fat Veggie Pizza on Whole Wheat Crust with an Herby Salad on the side.
I may or may not have had a few of these for dessert (ahhh – total sugar cravings all day!) I recommend Dark Chocolate ones on days when chocolate cravings strike since they are richer/darker and you are less likely to eat too many. I can eat a TON of milk chocolate ones and they do not even contain all those great antioxidants plus it has more sugar :( Sometimes though, you just need rich, creamy, sweet Milk Chocolate and that was me last night.
The recipe for my Veggie Pizza is coming up next!
I love those lemon torte yoplait delights too! I had bought both those and the chocolate raspberry a couple of weeks back, but wasn’t too wow’d by the choc-rasp either. Lemon though has become a must-have!
Smart Chicken brand of chicken makes a couple different kinds of minimally processed chicken sausage too, including a hot italian sausage. I really like their products but they definitely aren’t the cheapest on the shelf!
I found some of those huge grapes, here in Colorado, just last week. They are indeed huge. I liked that the skin wasn’t as touch as it often is and they were super crunchy.
Beautiful produce!!!!
I love all your fresh eats! Those chicken sausages look really good! I love any type of sausage, and I love that chicken sausages come in so many flavors + are healthy!
I need to try those yoplait delights!!
xo
K
So many delicious things!!
I love those round yellow squash -so cute.
I’ve been wanting to buy the Almond Windmill cookies – are they good?
Pita chips are addicting! I CAN NOT buy those or I will eat the whole bag!
you got the persimmons! WOO HOO!
those are fuyu persimmons. so i just wait till they’re a little soft, or you can eat them when they’re firm, and peel and cut up like an apple. tastes great with pb.
that stacked sandwich looks awesome! i love my red TJs bag like that.
WOW..look at all of your goodies! lucky lady!
I have persimmon mango butter sittin in my fridge! I need to try that 😉 Let us know how that tastes…I’v heard persimmons have a cinnamon flavor to them!
Cool Trader Joe’s bag!
