Those “voices” in my head….

February 10, 2010 by DanicasDaily 14 Comments

Happy Hump Day all!  This morning started off with some Honest Foods and a little Justin’s Almond Butter…..

I have learned since my Blueberry Crack experience that it is not in my best interest to eat the ENTIRE plank bar.  This morning I broke off 1/4 of this Pomegranate Granola Plank as a crumbly topper for 2 pts.

IMG_9185

Note to self ~ those stats are for HALF the bar, not all 😉

IMG_9186

Plus a dallop of Classic Justin’s Almond Butter (1 tsp for 1 pt) ~ it’s tasty, but, I think I may LOVE the Maple better.

IMG_9187

As much as I LOVE almond butter, I hate to admit that I am not sure it added anything other than calories to my breakfast 🙁

IMG_9188

I added it to 1 cup of blueberries with 1 container of TJ’s 0% Blueberry Greek yogurt.

IMG_9194

This totally reminded me of spring and farmer’s markets ~ oh, how I cannot wait for it to be Farmer’s Market season again ~ just 2-3  months!  The POM Honest Foods plank is ok, it’s tasty and I LOVED the big chunks of fruit, however, I feel like it tastes a bit perfume like from the POM maybe?

IMG_9198

I rocked out to music, slammed out some work and snacked on a 1 pt TJ’s string cheese and a banana (2 pts).

I spent the next hour having a full on conversation with myself about what to do about lunch.  I had planned on getting out for a run, but, honestly, I wasn’t feeling it.  So, I thought, maybe I should go out to eat and get that BEET salad with my co-worker…nope, she couldn’t go either *sigh*  Then, I thought, ok, fine, maybe I should just work through lunch since I have a deadline this week….NOOO, I need to get outside.  I finally decided I’d get take out and forgo the lunch I’ve been bringing all week.

But, as soon as I walked outside, it was BEAUTIFUL!  Sunny and slightly cool/warm. I couldn’t pass up such an amazing day ~ so I quickly changed into my running clothes before I could let those voices in my head say anything else.  I am so glad I did ~ I had an amazing 3-ish mile run.

I always feel AMAZING after my run, so I need to remember that when I hear those voices in my head 😀

You all will laugh at this part, I even brought $$ to pick up lunch on the way back (can you tell I really wanted that BEET salad?!)  But, I am uber proud to say, I passed it up and had a super delish lunch.

IMG_9209

My FANTASTIC wrap included:

1 La Tortilla Low Carb Wrap (1 pt)

1 wedge Laughing Cow (1 pt)

Big smear of Spicy Apple Mustard (0 pts)

6 slices of honey roasted turkey (2.5 pts)

Spinach

For crunch, I had some Stacy’s Parmesan Garlic Pita Chips…I LOVE these but know I can only be around them if I have them in these mini 3 pt bags.  I can totally eat an entire big bag without thinking about it.

IMG_9214

Mini peppers (LOVE these!) and Cantaloupe for dessert (1 pt).

IMG_9211

I did manage to “reward” myself with the last of my ChocoLOVE Dark Chocolate with Cherries and Almonds.  I LOVE this flavor!  3 squares = 1.5 pts of awesomeness!

IMG_9173

The Husband met me after my Weight Watcher meeting and we did a little shopping for birthday gifts and cards.  I pretty much did not want to cook so we had our FAVORITE tacos from Vasquez….two chicken tacos for 8 points.

IMG_5120

Don’t worry all, I will get back in the kitchen and whipping up some good recipes again tomorrow night.

Oh and BIGGEST LOSER ~ LOVE/HATE it ~ I LOVED who got sent home, but, I hate the to be continued….the SUSPENSE!  I am not sure who I am rooting for yet….although I did start to LOVE the Grey team a bit more yesterday along with yellow and purple.

Tomorrow we have a BBQ at work ~ wish me luck in picking good choices or resisting and eating something good for me.  I am really trying to save up my points for this weekend!

I am off to read, relax and catch some zzzzz’s!

Night all!

Its so funny how you mentioned this “hate to admit that I am not sure it added anything other than calories to my breakfast” – I used to add about a tablespoon of nut butter to my oatmeal every morning, then I realized it wasn’t actually doing anything to keep me full, so I stopped doing it. but lately i have been thinking I need more healthy fats in my diet, especially because Ive been giving more thought to the correlation between appetite and fat intake.

anyhow, I’m glad you got our and went for a run, so jealous of you and your beautiful weather!

oh, and, how’d the WW meeting go?

Yum, yum! Good job not spending $$ and eating lunch at home =D
Those pita chips are SO addicting! I can’t portion control them, either. But who can? hehe

I am SO on the biggest loser train now! I’m glad Melissa left, I think she can do it by herself and so many other people need more help than she does. I think I am rooting for the Grey team too!!

Love the new site! I have no control with pita chips…they serve those on Virgin Airlines with their hummus plate. I’ve clearly eaten that a few too many times. 😉

Bummer about the almond butter. I have some of Justin’s packets sitting around my kitchen but haven’t tried them yet.

And I cannot wait for farmers markets to open either! I love supporting local business, the freshness of their produce and how much cheaper it is than the supermarkets……ahhh, just around the corner!

    HI Jasmine,

I do believe in Nut Butters 100 million percent and will continue to have them in my diet for that reason – they are healthy fats and we all need that. I am just trying to be aware of things I can taste or not when I eat them….because honestly, why eat it if you can’t taste it. Like sometimes I can’t taste the cheese on a sandwich so why eat it.

My meeting was awesome – I LOVE my leader and when I grow up I want to be like her. She is just so motivational and really has a way of bringing you back to the center of why you are on your journey. This weeks topic was about staying motivated and she gave us these little cards to make up our own Valentine’s Conversation Sayings complete with stickers. I totally should’ve taken a picture because I LOVE stuff like that. Weight wise – eh, I gained a little .8 to be exact, but, I feel like that was earned with too many extras for the week. So, I am focusing more this week on being accountable 100% and exercising daily.

    Happy Friday!

    Danica

    Hi Tina,

Thanks so much for believing in me – I did great with the work BBQ!

The grey team is the two tongala (sp?) brothers…does that help?
