What is your favorite show to watch?

May 24, 2011 by DanicasDaily 23 Comments

Happy BIGGEST LOSER FINALE day all!  I honestly do NOT know what I am going to watch now that Biggest Loser is over and the new season isn’t starting right away LOL…..

Any ideas???

Thanks everyone for all your comments on my BlogHERFood11 posts, the Walk-It 5K and for giving me the low down on Boiled Peanuts.  I think I might just have to try them!

I picked up some of these Weight Watchers Mini Cream Cheeses while grocery shopping this week because I have been craving a good, doughy bagel with cream cheese.

IMG_2175

The next best thing is taking an Orowheat Double Fiber English muffin with 1/2 the cream cheese tub and 1/2 Tbsp Low Sugar Apricot Preserves.

IMG_2176

Then, adding in a Morning Star Maple Veggie Sausage.

IMG_2178

Savory, sweet, creamy and delicious (it’s sort of like dipping your sausage in maple syrup) (6 points+)

IMG_2182

Plus a big bowl of “fruit salad” for dessert with lots of coffee!

IMG_2181

I was rushing around in meetings all morning so my snacks were grabbed on the go.  Banana plus a Weight Watchers Light String Cheese (1 points+).

IMG_2183

Lunch was the last serving of our Skillet Gnocchi with Chard & White Beans.  This is tasty the next day, but, I LOVE the way the string “cheeses” when you scoop it up on the day it is made (9 points+)

IMG_2186

It has been WAY TOO long since I’ve had Spicy Asian Peanut Slaw ~ I realized that as I was scarfing down the bowl.

IMG_2191

1 cup Organic Broccoli Slaw

1/2 cup Organic Shredded Carrots

2 Tbsp Trader Joe’s (or LIte House!) Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette (2 points+)

Sprinkle of red pepper flakes

1 BIG BOWL of deliciousness!

IMG_2193

Dessert involved a Jo’s Dark Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel~ most likely eaten with sound effects Open-mouthed smile  ~ LOVE! (2 points+)

IMG_2197

Mid afternoon snack Part 1

IMG_2201

Mid afternoon snack part 2 ~ Pete’s Medium Iced Dirty Latte (Latte +1 pump mocha) (4 points+)

image

The folks over at Schwan’s know I LOVE my grill and asked if I would like to try their Flat Iron Steaks.  I have always been intrigued by Flat Iron Steaks because they do not sell them near us (California is all about Tri Tip!).

IMG_2169

7 points+ each

IMG_2170

I unthawed the steaks in the fridge overnight and this morning I marinated them in Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki.  You probably do not need to season/marinade these steaks, but, I wanted to add a little extra.

IMG_2207

We both absolutely LOVED the Flat Iron Steaks.  I had planned on eating half, but, after one tender melt in your mouth bite, I decided it was worth it to eat the entire steak.

Served with sautéed mushrooms on the side.

IMG_2209

I went with just 1/3 cup Potato Salad since I decided to eat the entire steak (2 points+)

IMG_2208

A long with an extra crispy Grilled Romaine Salad (1 points+)  It’s definitely better when you do NOT burn it ~ oops!

IMG_2213

Simple, easy, delicious and only 2 dishes to wash Open-mouthed smile I <3 my grill!

IMG_2214

I also whipped up lunches for the week while I cooked dinner.  I’ve made this before….any guessed on what it is?! Better yet, anyone want some? I have like 8 cups LOL.

IMG_2236

NEW AT FRIENDS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

* 4 Points+ VEGAN Falafel!

Q’s

Who are you voting to WIN the BIGGEST LOSER?

I am pretty much happy that both purple girls are in the top two as I have been rooting for them all the time.  LOVE them!

I am behind on your emails, comments, etc, but, I am slowly catching up on your emails this week!

Night all!

This post made me want to eat my IPad. Everything looks so delish. I’ve been curious about the morning star b- fast patties. But I think you’ve solved that for me.

I make a similar breakfast sandwich! Except I really use syrup. Hmm the mix looks like some kind of Asian noodle/veggie dish…am I close? And yes, please send some to me!

Danica ~ Thanks for posting about the Schwans Flat Iron steaks, I am a Schwans regular and have been leary to purchase. You should try the Turkey Mignon’s. Super easy, yummy, great for grilling and perfect with grilled veggies or salad…only 6points plus.

Also thanks for all your posts! I looking forward to them every day!

I mentioned to a friend I was so craving a mocha latte (because I keep seeing yours) but didn’t want to spend 3-4 points. She told me about the coffee drink she makes using Almond Breeze unsweetened chocolate “milk” and promptly made me one. Luckily it was early in the day because I’d have been up all night from the caffeine otherwise!

She took 8 oz of the Almond Breeze, 2 teaspoons of instant espresso powder, 4 oz water, and 1 packet of Splenda and shook it up in a cocktail shaker (made this feel even more decadent!) and poured over ice. Oh my….this was so good, so easy without having to get dressed and head to Starbucks whenever the urge hits! Yum yum yum.

I always think the same thing when Biggest Loser is over. I’m going to check out a new show starting on Monday. It’s called Extreme Makeover Weight loss Edition, on ABC.

The show documents the makeover of eight , overweight people who set out to lose half of their body weight over the course of a year. The trainer moves into their homes with them to make sure they get the right food and exercise.
Each hour long show follows one persons journey.
It looks like it might be pretty good.

Im very interested in the last picture……..it looks like “Pancit” a Fillopino dish…
If it is I love it! When I lived in Hawaii I would buy a container on my way to school, at the snack truck, they had most fabulous asian food at that truck….anyways thats my guess…Pancit….are you giving the recipe?

Have you tried the Lender’s 100 calorie bagel thins? I NEVER buy the other 100-cal thin breads because they’re not worth it to me. BUT, this particular brand is really good and doughy. It’s more like a correctly sized bagel, not diet-y at all. You can find them near the other refrigerated bagels.

Okay, I need to make your spicy slaw! I keep forgetting about it.

So happy about the purple team and everyone – still wondering why they just didn’t mention Rulan at all at the finale!

Did you happen to see my recipe for crab rangoon breakfast wontons? A plate of six of them was 9 points and totally filling – I found those individual cups of cream cheese at my store and used that in the filling.

    http://mybizzykitchen.com/2011/05/21/wi-saturday-and-crab-rangoon-breakfast-wontons/

Hope you are having a great week – off to fix myself a big bowl of fruit! 😀

Mmm I love the combination of cream cheese and jam on bread. That breakfast looks amazing. I may need to go buy some whipped cream cheese. I also need to try grilled romaine!

All the shows I watch are having their season finales right now as well. >.< Uh if I remember correctly though, Hell's Kitchen normally plays in the summer and I love that show! Not about weight loss but about food!

    Hi Barbi,

I usually cut up my own fruit (on Sunday) so I can eat it all week long. I do occasionally buy pre-cut fruit, but, find it is a lot more expensive that way.

    Hi Colleen,

Here is a link to the potato salad I make all the time. People cannot tell that it is a healthier version and it’s definitely not dry.

    HI Biz,

I think I read somewhere that he wasn’t allowed to go to the finale since he “left” the show….something about the fine print if you leave, you can’t attend. I do think they should’ve at least included something like look at how he looks now sort of thing even if he wasn’t competing for the prize.

Ohhhh, those won tons look fabulous! Can you think of something else (maybe sausage or bacon) that would work instead of crab? I know I am weird ~ I LOVE shrimp and lobster, but, think crab tastes like the ocean lol.

    Thanks for sharing the link!
