Happy New Year all! Are you making any resolutions this year? I go back and forth with making 12 resolutions (1 per month) or having a theme/one item to focus on each year. I’ve also given up things in the past like sugar, white foods, sugar free foods, red meat, soda, etc. All these resolutions have helped me to make good for me changes that I’ve incorporated into my lifestyle.
All that being said, this year, I want to take a different approach for my 2018 New Year’s Resolution by combining the two. My theme and core focus is to truly work the WW Freestyle program with my continued 100% honest tracking and getting active every day. Then, I want to layer on a new goal each month for something I am feeling in the moment or where I need to focus versus having them preset at the beginning of the year.
I feel super proud that I hit my 10K step goal all but 5 days in December. My Blue Dots, not so much.
So, for January – my goal is to hit 10K steps and a WW Blue Dot every day. I feel like I’ve been really good at one or the other, but, I want to get both. Combining healthy eats in my healthy eating zone can(aka blue dots!) and daily activity that leads to over 10K step will boost my success.
We kicked off our day with a 3 mile hike. I know The Husband wasn’t so happy with the hills but it was an amazing way to get in a workout without “feeling” like exercise and the view from the top was great too. Oh how I missed my Healthy Eggrolls on vacation. Mission Extra Thin Yellow Corn Tortilla, Sargento RF Cheddar, fried egg (3 sp), CutieI had a banana for my Pre- Hike snack so I wasn’t starving when we finished.
Lunch involved 1 serving Ravioli Minestrone Soup (3 sp), 1/2 sandwich (1 slice Nature’s Own Butter Bread, 3 slices Hillshire Farms 99 % FF Natural Turkey, 1 slice Sargento RF Cheddar, spicy mustard & pickles) – 4 spThe Husband got the little candy dispenser for Christmas. I told him we should put cereal in it because that will not tempt us lol. I did put it on the smallest serving setting but he doesn’t know that!
S: 4 peanut M&Ms (2 sp)Dinner was one of my absolute favorite things – Cheesy, fully loaded Healthy Nachos!
It all starts with 24 crunchy homemade sea salted chips. 4 Mission Extra Thin Yellow Corn Tortillas sliced into 24 pieces, sprayed with nonstick spray, sea salt and baked at 400 degrees for 7-8 minutes.Topped with zero point turkey taco meat and FF refried beans. Then, 1/4 cup Tostitos Nacho cheese for 1 sp and 1/4 cup Trader Joe’s Lite Mexican cheese for 2 sp.Layer with zero point veggies – lettuce, tomatoes, green onion, cilantro, jalapeno and hot sauce. Then add 2 Tbsp avocado to cool it all off.
My entire plate comes in at 9 SmartPoints!

I just started WW yesterday. I was a member several years ago. I’m excited about the new program. What is WW blue dot?
DanicasDaily says
Hi Pam,
If you go to your online WW tracker app under journey, you will see a calendar. For each day you track in the healthy eating zone range (-5/+10 from your daily target) you earn a blue dot. It really motivates me to collect as many blue dots as I can and it helps you stick to tracking in a healthy range 🙂
Thanks for asking,
Danica
