A Spookie Good Time

October 28, 2012 by DanicasDaily 9 Comments

Happy Sunday all!  Thanks for all the comments and pins on my Sweet Potato Hash Browns that I posted yesterday.  It really was one of those breakfasts that is so good you are sad when it’s gone.  Today’s Weight Watcher meeting is one I have been looking forward to all month long.

Why you ask?  Because, our leader goes all out to celebrate before Halloween complete with one delicious breakfast bar too. She is such a great baker even though she will never admit to it.

Remember the Apple Cinnamon Chip Mini Muffins from last year?  She actually used a spice cake muffin mix with cinnamon chips to make up these tasty spice cake bites for us.

So incredibly delicious and perfect with your morning coffee.

Plus a batch of Weight Watchers Crackle Spice Drop Cookies.

IMG_4167

Adorable Mini Vanilla Wafers and Walnuts from a local farm ~ all labeled with their points+ values.

IMG_4171

Gigantic Holiday Grapes.

IMG_4169

All served up with “spiders”, coffee and homemade pumpkin pie frozen yogurt that I made (in the red container).

IMG_4166

I made up a 4 points+ snack plate for The Husband and I to share.

IMG_4174IMG_4187

It’s totally normal to have Frozen Pumpkin Pie Yogurt for breakfast too ~ after all, it does count as dairy Winking smile  1/4 cup = 1 points+ (recipe coming up this week after I remake it and take pictures).

IMG_4179

The “spookie” Weight Watcher’s Crew ~ aren’t they adorable?!

IMG_4192

I  lost 2.8 lbs this week which I am pretty excited about.  I definitely think that all that rich food at the Foodbuzz Festival sparked my metabolism to work harder.  I also made sure I worked on staying on track and working out this past week to make up for it.

We had originally planned a MINI road trip today, but, ended up having to drop Scooter off at the dealership since a funky engine light came on that told me drive slow and to proceed to the nearest dealership. Sad smile

As a consolation prize for being car-less today and tomorrow, we stopped at Starbuck’s for Tall Nonfat Lattes. 3 points+

IMG_4196

The Husband has been saying for awhile now that we just “need” to have a good burger.  So, on our way back into town, we decided to stop at Burger City as it had pretty decent reviews on Yelp.

IMG_4198IMG_4200

Sometimes, you need a little “fried” in your life.  I had 2 (the biggest ones!) of the onion rings we got as an appetizer.  You could definitely taste the beer in them.

(SF+ 4 WPA) – 4 points+

IMG_4203

We also played Trivia while we waited.  Can any of you guess his response to question #4??? The Rainbow Story lives….I know my Mom & Sis are laughing at this one.

IMG_4204

HIs Colossal Burger looked amazing ~ he said it tasted just like In and Out Burger.

IMG_4205

He upgraded his fries to Garlic Fries ~ tasty, but, super garlicky.

IMG_4206IMG_4207

My simple bacon cheeseburger didn’t quite look as pretty as his.

IMG_4212

I cut it in half and gave him the other half so I’d only eat half.  It was just ok to me, but, I think that I am spoiled on Monsoon Burgers. 8 points+ for half.

IMG_4215

I picked Sweet Potato Fries as my side but, found I was completely satisfied with only having 5 fries.  The first time ever in my life I’ve let them take my plate away with fries on it ~ success!

7 points+

IMG_4208

We decided to balance the day out with a lighter dinner ~ 1 cup Trader Joe’s Organic Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup.

This soup is so completely delicious ~ it’s not too sweet and you can taste the pepper and tomatoes (3 points+).

IMG_5998

So far I am pretty satisfied and I have a plan of a fruit bowl if I get hungry later.

I haven’t actually planned out our menu at all this week ~ My goal is to cook from our Farm Fresh To You Box and add in items from our pantry and freezer.  I am also thinking of a smoky bean soup for the days it rains and maybe some Carrot Morning Glory Muffins.

Night all!

Congrats on your loss. I wondered how you would do after being at the conference. What’s your total since you began SF? You inspire me to stay at this!

      Hi Jane,

It’s at almost 15 lbs, but, that includes a few bumps along the road where I decided to eat everything in site for a week. It’s all about the journey though and in the end, I know I will get there just like you!

Wonderful loss! You are so darn lucky to have such a great WW meeting to attend! I printed off a few today to try for a work meeting this week…I like to try to take a WW or a Danica recipe 🙂 I just posted a question on your FB page, I sure hope you see it…I’m confused about “naming” activities on my AL; do I name them after or before I do them? Not sure how I can name them before since I have no clue when I can go for a walk in work…or do I just estmate? Thanks for all of your inspiration!! It helps more than you know 🙂

Nice weigh in!! I’m hoping to get to weigh in tomorrow, if the weather is bad enough I’ll just weigh in at home this week. Still loving simply filling 🙂
The only “food” we get at our meeting is the free samples they sometimes give us!

WOW congratulations on that fantastic weight loss!!!!! After Food Buzz, job stress and all of lifes curve balls you had a spectacular week. I suspect that loss had something to do with being surrounded by onion rings and fries you were able to keep your want power!!
