I was so ready to get back to simple eating again today. It has been fun sampling all the potential places for our party but all the richness has my body wondering what I am doing to it 🙂
Friday felt like the LONGEST day of my life, like I was stuck in a time warp or something. Maybe I was all too excited for our weekend of nothingness to start. I am so glad we have nothing on the calendar this weekend since we do every other weekend until our cruise!
I decided to try the Starbuck’s Italian Roast VIA ~ Iced! I boiled water and mixed it all let letting it cool while I got ready. Add ice with a splash of milk & tadah!!!!
Perfection! No floaters today – yeah!
Simple Breakfast ~ Breakfast started off with a CranBran VitaTopp!
Toasted!
Then, crumbled over 1 c Trader Joe’s 0% Greek yogurt with cinnamon and CIDER SAUCE!
Mid morning while we were negotiating and trying to decide on where to host our holiday party, I snacked on some Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Crisps. Moments of stress require crunched, right?! 😀
Lunch was simple and FANTASTIC! I started off with Fizzy Water!
Basically delicious sandwich ~ TJ’s FF Multi-Grain Bread, 99% FF ham, turkey, 2% swiss and sweet/spicy mustard.
Salt and Pepper Pop Chips. This is only 1/2 a serving ~ LOVE this flavor!
Red Pepper Crunch!
For dessert I had some Red Holiday Grapes. Do you all have these near you? They are the BIGGEST seedless grapes ever made. Think Red Globe without seeds. So sweet crunchy and delicious.
Do you all remember when I tried to show you the rainbow this week but it was too dark to see the colors? This is the vineyard it was over ~ aren’t the colors beautiful?
Then, since I was hanging out in traffic, I decided to snap a few more shots to show you all some of things I see when I drive home. Not such a bad highway to commute on each day, huh?
I didn’t feel like cooking really so we went with simple for dinner dinner. Some fresh organic green beans seasoned with garlic salt, pepper and a kiss of organic butter.
Annie’s Shells and cheddar!
Low-Fat Spicy Chicken Sausage with Poblano’s & Cheese (130 cal, 4.5 g fat) – so GOOD!
Especially when dipped in Gayle’s Sweet & Sassy Honey BBQ Sauce.
For dessert I stole a few of The Husband’s candy corns. I was intrigued by a chocolate covered candy corn. Um, it was weird ~ I think they are better just the way they are 🙂
The Husband picked out the movie last night called The Poker Club. I honestly thought it was going to be al about poker, but, it wasn’t. It turned out to be a murder mystery suspense type of movie. The acting was sorta cheesy but I LOVED the plot ~ it was full of suspense and had a great twist in the end.

You have one more day to WIN SOME STARBUCK’S VIA!!!
Have a great Saturday all! I am off to start working my todo list starting with a trip to The Farmer’s Market – woohoo!
did you toast your vitatop in the toaster?! i usually just micro mine! but that sounds really yummy toasting it up 🙂
jenna
I saw that chocolate covered candy corn at Target and really waned to try it out. But I guess you could just get the same effect eating a handful of candy corn + chocolate chips? That Chicken sausage flavor sounds delicious – never seen it before!
Have a great Saturday!
that chicken sausage looks amazing! I totally agree with you on the chocolate covered candy corn. why mess with a good thing?
I love the cider sauce and cran bran combo. it sounds like a classic New England dish
chocolate covered candy corn?? yum!! never thought of that one!
I love simple food. And I agree- candy corn are better on their own!
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Danica I just found your site and love love love your blogs! Can you share where you find the chicken sausage? When I was at TJ’s none of the flavors really sounded that good to me.
Jenna ~ Yes!!! Once you use the toasted, you will never want to use the microwave again. They get all toasty and warm plus if you use ones with chocolate chips, then, melt – YUM!
Tay, Madeline and Alison ~ I surprisingly didn’t buy these sausages at Trader Joe’s. I ventured out and bought them at Sam’s Club. They are the Sam’s club Members Mark Brand. I will post a picture of the package and nutritionals for you all to see in my next post.
Alison ~ Welcome to my blogs 😀 As far as the TJ’s sausages I like, I LOVE the Mango Chicken and the Sweet Apple Maple – both are fantastic and with the same nutriotional stats.
Thank you Danica! I”m already hooked on your blog and only found you yesterday. I follow 1 other – Roni’s weigh.
I only have a costco membership but those sausages are making me want a sam’s membership too ROFL. The description sounds fabulous! Costco sells an andoullie (sp) and apple gouda which are pretty good 🙂
What???? Chocolate covered candy corn? Amazing! It’s probably a good thing I’ve never seen that. I get soooo addicted to regular candy corn ! 😉
I’m new to your blog but I see that you are going to the Foodbuzz Festival too. Awesome!
I think chocolate covered candy corn would be weird too. Not sure I’d like it.
Alison ~ Next time I am at Sam’s I’ll ask if they know who makes them for Sam’s. That might help? I know AmyLu makes an awesome Pepperjack Cheese Chicken Sausage that is either 2 or 3 pts each – same stats. I am so flattered that I am one of the blogs you read! Thanks for the awesome comment, you made me smile from ear to ear and made my day 🙂
Amanda ~ It’s great to meet you. We should definitely meet at the Foodbuzz Blogger Festival – I am so excited for it.
i love that festive tablecloth/placemat thang. so cute!
