I waited, I watched the clock…and when it was snack time, I broke out the Weight Watcher’s English Toffee Crunch Ice Cream Bars to eat while my co-workers feasted on drumsticks. I have to admit, they were pretty tasty for 2 points and resemble the picture on the box pretty well. I did ponder having more…..but I refrained remembering chips n salsa LOL.
On my way home, I stopped by Trader Joe’s to pick up a few snacks to take to the baseball game tomorrow. I have been pondering packing our lunch or eating the buffet that is being catered. The Husband requested veggies + dip and cheese/crackers. He isn’t big on my Kashi crackers saying they are too healthy (he’s crazy!) so I found a new cracker at Trader Joe’s that just sounded good.
I was sold when I saw all 8 whole grains and seeds in them ~ Yum!
The nutritionals are not too bad. The crackers are pretty big, similar in size to AkMak and Kavli Crisps. Being the good wife I am, I had to sample them for him :) I had TWO and they were so good. I could totally see covering them in Laughing Cow. They reminded me of those Keebler Club Crackers (the little rectangles) with nuttiness.
The Husband’s mom took the nephews and us out to dinner tonight at Chevy’s. I really tried to resist the chips and salsa, but, seriously – they are like crack! You cannot have just one and once you have one, you will have two, three….I eventually end up pondering if a dinner of chips and fresh roasted salsa is ok 🙂 Don’t worry, I had a “little” self control and ordered a real dinner.
I had planned on getting my usual grilled chicken fajita salad, but, I was intrigued by their Summer Chicken Enchiladas. The enchiladas have grilled salsa chicken and nuts inside corn tortillas topped with a spicy mole and Monterey Jack cheese. I ate all my veggies, plus both enchiladas leaving the rice (it wasn’t worth it for the taste) and ate the sweet corn cake. I LOVE the sweet corn – it’s seriously the best part of the meal.
I was a little jealous of the nephew’s kiddie ice cream cones ~ they looked so cool. They made the cone out of a flour tortilla and coated it with cinnamon and sugar – YUM! I didn’t get a chance to snap a picture before they downed it.
The Husband and I did a little shopping after dinner to pick up SF Giants shirts we can wear to the game tomorrow because we are cool like that! 😀
Alright all ~ I am off to relax and read a bit before bed. Have a great night!

Mmmm Chevy’s it’s been so long! I love how their chips are thin and warm and just yummy. And they have the best salsa. You just have to indulge! I love their homemade tortillas from the machine. That usually is half of my meal! haha

I like how you said you waited, and then when it was time you ate! Good for you. All that looks so good. We love chips and salsa around our house. Of course I don’t buy the gourmet salsa because we are have such a big family , but the Sam’s big huge version serves us well!!

Way to eat what you wanted and not let your co-workers influence you. 🙂 Also, good job keeping those chips + salsa in mind! 🙂
