Hi all! Today I stuck to the plan (mostly) and decided to get a little creative earning some activity points walking during one of my conference calls. I think I can say being outside in the sunshine definitely made me want to stay in my call longer – probably a first for me lol.
I worked a bit later than planned and was all too happy when The Husband said, Let’s have Bambino Pizzas! He is seriously like a little kid when we have them in the house. It definitely made dinner fast so I can now kick up my heels for the new season of Survivor!

I’ve tried two of your recipes from past blogs – your slow cooker pea soup and the slow cooker steel cut oats with fruit. Both were really good. There is just the husband and myself so there are a lot of left overs, but they’re in the freezer ready for us. This is the first time I’ve had steel cut oats (normally have oatmeal). There was a difference in texture/taste but not much. Next time, however, I’ve going to reduce the water and add more salt – this is just my preference, not a reflection on the recipe. Also, what type of containers do you freeze your meals in? For both left overs, I used freezer bags. Thanks. Happy Friday tomorrow.

Hi Peggy,
Yay, so glad you tried them and liked them both. I like Steel Cut Oats better than instant oats but agree they are similar to old fashioned oats. I’ve cooked them on the stove as well. For freezing, I use a freezer bags (easy for stacking), the disposable ziploc containers as they stack nicely and sometimes my rock & serve tupperware containers.
Thanks for letting me know how the recipes turned out,
Danica
