Hi all! Do you ever have passing moments where you think…sure, I can buy that chocolate, those cookies or that candy and it won’t tempt me at all?! I’ll just put it in the office and treat my coworkers to some delicious chocolates…I will have will power and follow all the “rules”.
Sounds lovely right?! If only it was that easy.
I’ve been eyeing these Trader Joe’s S’Mores cookies for such a long time now.
Little bites of S’Mores for only 3 Smartpoints each.
In the process of staring at S’Mores, I saw these dark chocolate covered sea salted honey Graham crackers.
When you can’t decide, buy both, right?!
Only 2 Smartpoints each
Look at all that crunchy, chocolatey, sea salted goodness.
I also threw in Maple Cookies and Pink/white shortbread cookies to balance out everyone’s tastes.
Here is my complete transparency with you all:
The good – not having any Maple Cookies and not throwing in the towel making the rest of my day a free for all eating everything.
The ok – having just 1 S’Mores and 1 Sea Salted Graham…I might’ve had more control not opening them in the car.
The ugly – trying those pink/white cookies knowing that they are my favorite (like the animal cookies you had as a kid but with way better ingredients/flavor). I had a hard time convincing myself to not eat the entire box. I need to pretend these don’t exist (4 are 7 Smartpoints).
Daily Snap Recap:
B: Healthy Eggroll (Fried egg, Sargento RF Cheddar, Mission Yellow Corn Tortilla) – 5 sp, 2/3 cup berries
S: Grande iced Nonfat Latte with caramel on top (3 sp)
L: Trader Joe’s reduced guilt Mac & Cheese (8 sp), cucumber chips & garden tomatoes
S: pluot, nectarine, string cheese (2 sp)
Passing cookie moment: I ate 1 S’Mores cookie & 1 Sea Salted Chocolate Graham in the car (something I never do lol), then 8 pink/white cookies when I put them out for everyone – yep, I ate 20 sp in cookies today.
D: Grilled Mozzarella Roasted Garlic Chicken sausage in a bun with all the fixings (7 sp), 1 cup green beans
45 Daily Smartpoints, 15K steps with a 1 hour walk, no blue dot.
Tomorrow is a new day to reset and I feel like I got that out of my system. This would be a good example of a 20% moment in my 80/20 rule 🙂
Night all!

I commend you for not eating all 3 boxes of cookies!!! I have NO control so I should never bring them in my house!

sometimes we need the reminder that willpower is a finite supply!! I will sometimes lock groceries in the trunk in order to avoid busting into the package in the car on the way home from the store. We’ve all been there! thank you for always being so honest in your blog.

Thank you for your honesty Danica. I wouldn’t read your blog if I couldn’t find things that I relate to. I can CERTAINLY relate to this post! Remember: We strive for PROGRESS not PERFECTION.

Congrats for not eating more of the cookies! That was a very dangerous situation.

We have all been there— been there, done that! But tomorrow is a brand new day! You counted it & moved on – case closed! 🙂
