Daily Snap: Sausage

March 22, 2017 by DanicasDaily 7 Comments

Hi all! I do not know what it is lately but I’ve totally been craving sausages. Today’s deliciousness might’ve helped give me a bit of a fix but I definitely think a batch of my Simply Filling Turkey Apple Sausage is in order next week.  My mouth is already watering at the thought of sausage egg muffins!

But, back to today….Breakfast hit the spot, I was easily talked into sushi for lunch and I might’ve abused cappuccino’s today.  I balanced out my day with an easy low SmartPoints dinner of Teriyaki Sausage, mushroom, Pepper and Onion kabobs without the kabobs. I can never decide which is worse….Threading the kabobs or cleaning my grill basket.  I love all you have to do is chop, pour a little homemade teriyaki sauce on, grill and dive in which almost always has me picking the basket.  I used Trader Joe’s Chicken Apple Sausages and Sams Club Roasted Garlic Mozzarella Chicken Sausages.  They are both 4 points per link making them a deal!

Fun fact….My entire recipe is only 28 SmartPoints…Just sayin’ if you wanted to go for it lol.

Daily Snap Recap:

B: 1 scrambled egg (2 SP), 1 Trader Joe’s Sweet Maple Chicken Apple Sausage (4 SP), 1/2 orange

S: Tall Nonfat Cappuccino with caramel on top (2 SP)

L: @Eikos Napa Side Salad with super light dressing (1 SP), 1 mini chili shrimp taco -sooo good! (4 SP), 9 pieces sushi – 3 of each roll (we got a 49er roll, Hot Mama & Ricky Ricardo On Vacation) – 11 sp

S: Tall Nonfat Cappuccino with caramel on top (2 SP)

S2: since dinner was late & I was starving – Trader Joe’s Lite string cheese (2 SP), 2 clementines

D: 1/3 cup Trader Joe’s Brown Rice (1 SP), 1 c Sausage Kabob – 5 sausage pieces = 4 SP and all veggies are free (6 sp for my serving)

35 Daily SmartPoints – A bit of a higher point day but it definitely worth it as I felt in control of what I chose to go over on.

Night all!

      Hi Gail,

I’m so glad it helps. I love pizza but it’s so tough on SmartPoints – sounds delicious!

Looks like a delicious day! Do you think you could recreate the chili shrimp tacos for us in a WW friendly way? They sound and look yummy!

      Hi Vicky,

That is such a great idea! Yes, I’ll definitely add it to my list of recipes to make.

I enjoy your blog. Just curious – do you follow WW to lose weight or to maintain? Are you achieving the results you want? You do such a good job staying on track and within your daily points – very impressive!!

      Hi Sahron,

Thanks for asking. My goal is always to maintain even if I’m not 100% on track. That being said, I officially started over in January trying to lose again. So far I’m at 12 lbs down with January being a loss month, February a maintain month and I’m hoping March will end as a loss month. Overall, I’m getting back to where I want to be with some weeks being better than others. I really try to focus on the daily successes and making healthy lifestyle choices I can sustain versus going hardcore for a timeframe to lose quickly. Im far from perfect but I’m always honest putting it all out there and being fully honest with myself. This is a big thing for me on my healthy living journey and all this combined (even though I definitely need to work on exercise) make a me feel like I’m getting the results I’m looking for with each good choice I make. Hopefully this makes sense.
