Happy Mother’s Day all! How was your weekend? My weekend was awesome…It started with a .6 lb loss bringing my total to 25 lbs lost! I am not sure if I call hitting the 25lb mark as a short term or long term goal but it’s kind of a big deal in my book.
I started my journey to lose 5 lbs – I can do that! Then I keep proving to myself I can lose 5 lbs over and over again….5 times so far! So, now, I’m moving on to lose just 5 lbs again and am feeling very motivated. Breaking it down like that makes my big goal feel more achievable.
We spent today celebrating our moms after walking the Sacramento Antique Fair. My mom picked Jack’s Urban Eats so I knew I’d stay on track. I even convinced The Husband and my mom to get the small (not large) Urban fry so I didn’t have to be too tempted by tons of ranch, chili covered fries. I counted out a few, enjoyed and they were gone.
I spent the afternoon doing a little food prep and chores for the week before heading to dinner with The Husband’s mom. I really wanted pasta tonight so I went with it. I ordered the Fettuccine “dry” with grilled chicken, mushrooms and onions. It was so good…I could taste the garlic and wine in the mushrooms. I had 3 successes at dinner – I measured out 1 cup (eye balling it) and took the rest of my pasta to go. I had just a little bread despite the 20 piece load on the table. And….I gave my free Mother’s Day Brownie Sundae to The Husband. I was so satisfied with my dinner, I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything.

I also heard of a new snack using Graham crackers and peanut butter – I so need to try that!
