Hi all! How was your weekend? My weekend was good with some pretty amazing 75-80 degree weather. A few of you have asked about my progress this go round and how I am doing. I never know if I should share my weekly weigh in or not but I’m always happy to if you all are into reading about it. Do you all want the update each week?
I am really feeling in a groove and can say I lose more weeks than not but not every week is perfect. I’m ok with that because neither is my journey….for me, it’s all about persistence over perfection and that is what makes it a lifestyle for me. I’ll just continue losing to my goal then continue doing exactly what I do now. I never feel like I’m deprived or missing out this way and it makes it “ok” to fit treats into your daily points.
All that being said, I lost 1.8 lbs at weigh in this week bringing my total loss to date to 24 lbs – 1 lb from my short term goal! I’m totally going for that this week.
I truly try to focus on eating right 80% of the time so I can feel good about the treats I have 20% of the time. And sometimes, you just have to have frozen yogurt for dinner when your husband says we should make that our Summer Sunday dinner tradition.

I love that perspective: Persistence not perfection! Congratulations on your success and thanks for sharing your viewpoint.

I, for one, would very much like a weigh-in update each week. I’d also like a little reminder of your “persistence not perfection” and 80/20 philosophy from time to time. I think that’s a great way to view our eating habits and weight loss goals, and I think I could benefit from a recap of that to help me not get stuck in the “perfection” mode (which is totally not doable for me and the failure ends up being very detrimental to my weight loss goals time and time again). Thanks, Danica, for your very honest blog and willingness to share. It is very appreciated.

I’d love to get weigh-in updates! Because the other reality is that a good week doesn’t always result in a loss, so that’s where your awesome motto also really helps keep things in perspective.
Cngrats on this week’s loss!!

Thanks so much for listening! Weekly weigh-in updates would be awesome!
And like the others, would love to have the reminder of the 80/20 every now and then.
Seeing your daily snaps really helps me understand portion sizes, and gives me ideas on what to eat.
Knowing the results is just icing on the cake. 🙂

Congratulations on your loss! You’ve earned it. I would be happy to hear whatever you would feel comfortable sharing. It’s always dangerous to compare ourselves to others but it helps to hear about the success AND the frustrating weeks. It’s not a linear journey for sure!

I said it before, but I missed you when you were gone! If you decide to share weekly weigh ins or not whatever you are comfortable with just so you stick around!!!

I’m curious. Were you able to eat the entire yik yak salad for only 10 sp? Tortilla and dressing included?
DanicasDaily says
Hi Darlene,
No, it excludes the tortilla. I never eat it as it’s not “special” and it’s not that good. My breakdown is for the chicken, almond/crunchiest and dressing.
Thanks for asking,
Danica
