Eat what you crave

February 24, 2010 by DanicasDaily 13 Comments

Happy Hump Day all! I can’t say that I did a lot of work today to make my eats happen, but, they definitely hit every craving I had (ok, well, maybe not those AMAZING Reese’s PB Eggs).  I LOVE days when I look back and think, wow, I ate good today ~ today was totally like that 🙂

I have to start out though by thanking you all for complimenting my Gnocchi skills or lack there of and for sharing all your helpful tips ~ they will definitely be put to use if I venture out to try it again.

I absolutely couldn’t wait to have another Bagel Thin!  I decided to use Jasmine’s idea and whip a Bagel EggWich.

IMG_9944

1 Everything Bagel Thin

1 Laughing Cow Lite Wedge

Spinach (0 pts)

1/3 c Egg beaters with HOT Sauce, sea salt & pepper

2 slices of TJ’s Turkey Bacon

4 points of deliciousness whipped up in a matter of minutes (cooked between the toaster & microwave).  I LOVED the combo and totally think this would be even better with some sauteed mushrooms and/or even making the eggbeaters Denver style.

IMG_9945

When I went to grab my mid-morning snack I saw this intriguing Asian like snack mix in the break room.  (This Wasabi Pea loving girl would’ve LOVED it ~ I tried one and it actually wasn’t so bad – shocker, huh?!)

IMG_9953

It was interesting how each cracker had a flavor ~ spicy, bbq, one with salt/vinegar, sesame…I LOVED the addition of the nuts….I counted it as a 1 point taste, then, enjoyed my AWESOME pear and Low-Fat Colby Cheese (2 pts).

IMG_9950

I wasn’t sure if the rain would let up so I could get in a quick run ~ it was POURING out all morning.  Finally, I gave up wondering and decided to head out to lunch with my co-worker to the place I CRAVE for their veggies ~ Panda Express!!!

They whipped up my Mixed Veggies Fresh ~ Love that! (1 pt)

IMG_9958

Fresh Fire Cracker Chicken ~ Super spicy today ~ I LOVE HEAT even if I am a spice wimp sometimes.  For those wondering, here is the nutritional information for this based on an email someone sent to Panda Express. (4 pts!!)

IMG_9955

String Bean Chicken (3 pts)

IMG_9956

AWESOME ~ Check out my 5 a day all in one meal!  I was so feeling the affects of having this much fiber in one meal, but, it was 100 million % worth it.

IMG_9954

Pretty cool that Panda had Sobe Life Water that you could pick up for a drink ~ LOVE It!

IMG_9960

Since Panda is next door to Over The Top, I HAD to get a Froyo ~ afterall ~ rainy days = 20% off – how can you resist?!

IMG_9961

My flavors today ROCKED!!! Vanilla, HEATH TOFFEE (topped with Heath Toffee of course!) and Cookies and Cream…5 points!

My meeting today was completely inspirational.  I LOVE my leader (I am sure you all know that by now).  I was feeling a tad bit discouraged because I felt I earned a BIG loss this week for tracking 100% (every bite!) plus my awesome workouts.  She offered up some great advice including having me bring in my tracker next week (scared, but, that’s good!)  I know I NEED to be consistent to see the results I want and I am sure they will show up next week.  Oh ~ the topic, getting rid of temptation in your house and stocking your kitchen with healthy alternatives.

She challenged us to get rid of 10 Trigger foods this week ~ BETTER IN THE TRASH THAN ON YOUR @$$!!!  I may have to post that on the fridge 😀

The Husband requested Vasquez and I am all about not cooking after my flop yesterday.  I had two spicy chicken tacos for 8 points.

Do you all remember when I raved about those ZERO POINT FIBER ONE YOPLAIT YOGURTS?  Guess what ~ You all get the chance for another coupon $1 off on any of the 4 Packs!  Simply watch the cool video Featuring Hungry-Girl (LOVE Her!) and claim your coupon. FUN!

Ok ~ It’s MOVIE time ~ I think The Husband picked DeJa Vu!

I just found out the other day that my Panda Express discontinued the String Bean Chicken. Fail! I love the mushroom chicken too, but will miss that one.

Random question: what kind of hot sauce do you use? Now that that’s out of the way, I LOVE Panda Express and miss it so much (the nearest one to my school is a good two and a half hours away). I’ll definitely be making stops at Panda, In-n-Out, my fave local Mexican place, and Outback when I head home for spring break (I clearly have a sophisticated palate).
About the Fiber One Yogurt: I have to say I’m a little skeptical about the healthfulness–what sort of things are they putting in it for it to be so low in fat and calories?

Is the panda place like soft serve where you get to fix it yourself and add your own toppings?

Holy moly those snackers are from Costco aren’t they???? We have them at work too!!!! hahaha It’s awesome, I have to stay away from them, but my favorite ever are the sesame sticks inside. MMMM YUM. I grew up on those Japanese snack mixes in Hong Kong, but I can down a big bag in one sitting, so I avoid buying them unless I have a gnawing fix that i need to satisfy.

TOTALLY fits in with your theme today…muahhha eat what you crave!! yes, yes, and yes!!!

    Hi Tosha,

Panda Express is actually the chinese food place I went to.

However, the Over The Top Shop is a do it yourself yogurt shop ~ they have like 8 flavors every day and over 60 toppings. You pay by the oz, but, it’s fun to mix and match/make your own.

    HI Kelli,

You have EXCELLENT taste! I want to go around eating at all those places when you go back home LOL>

I have 3 FAVORITE hot sauce flavors ~ Sriracha, Tapatio and Frank’s Original. I am always open to sampling other hot sauces and do on occassion, however, these are 3 staples in my fridge. I used Tapatio in my eggs.

As far as the Fiber 1 Yogurts, their ingredients are not as clean as if you have plain greek yogurt. I do know that they use fat free dairy products to reduce the fat which is GOOD and they use artificial sweeteners to lower the calories (not the best, but, some don’t mind). Oh and they boost the fiber I am sure by adding a fiber powder. I do know several people who LOVE the 0 point snacks and I LOVE Hungry Girl so I don’t mind passing the coupons along when I get them to share.

Thanks for asking ~ always glad to share what I use and my thoughts,

    Danica

    Hi Lizzy,

I found them at my local grocery store, Raley’s, surprisingly. You can maybe check out the Orowheat site to see where they sell them near you? I think Arnold Thins are made by the same company so you might be able to find them under that name?

    Good luck!

    Hi Michelle,

I am not sure where they bought them, but, I have a feeling you might be right because it was a HUGE tub. I can totally see how it would be addicting. I LOVED the sesame pieces too.
