FUN!!!!!

March 24, 2010 by DanicasDaily 13 Comments

Today has been a seriously FUN day ~ wanna know why?  Let me list the ways….

* We booked and decided on the METRO for the 1st BAY AREA BLOGGER MEET UP!

* It’s totally sunny and 75 degrees outside & I wore flip flops with my jeans to work :D!!

* I found a new recipe stat site I LOVE! ~ see below!!

* I decided on some fun Open Sky Promos for you all and plan on adding a fun SHOPPING day too!

* In honor of Nutrition Month ~ March ~ I will be completing a FRIDGE MAKEOVER & ONE lucky reader will win a FRIDGE MAKEOVER TOO!

* There are only TWO days left in the week!

* I am down more than 1/2 a lb ~ I lost .6 lbs at WI tonight!!!!

Yup, reading that makes me SMILE ~ life is good even if I am totally congested and can’t breath out of my nose at all. On the brighter side The Husband LOVES my new sick sexy raspy voice and I can STILL taste food….I’d be lost if I couldn’t ~ LOL.

I am completely LOVING my Crock Pot Oats with Peaches and Blueberries, whipped butter and caramely brown sugar. (4 pts)

So ~ speaking of NEW RECIPE CALCULATING sites, I decided to check out CalorieCount.About.Com today based on the recommendation of BIZ!  I was kinda curious why she “graded” her daily food logs :)  I checked out their site today and I LOVE it.  I was able to COPY AND PASTE MY INGREDIENT LIST for the above recipe and hit analyze.  In a matter of TWO MINUTES or less I had a complete analysis of this recipe

image See, I was having issues with the fact that Spark Recipes said my recipe was 4 points, while Weight Watchers Recipe Builder said 2 points.  Usually the two go hand in hand.  Since Calorie Count. says it’s 2 points too, I am going with that!  I LOVE how they give you a grade on your recipes as well as your food log to and detailed analysis of the breakdown of the good, the bad and they ugly.  BAD ~ bourbon vanilla extract 🙂

I highly recommend you check it out ~ you’ll like it :D.

Along with my breakfast, I had a 2 point egg.

IMG_1407

My mid-morning snack was a 1 point Cabot Cheese, plus 6 Olive Oil/Rosemary Triscuits and 2 Alexia Waffle Fries ( I am addicted to those too!) (2 pts)

IMG_1409

Do you ever have these GREAT SOUNDING FOOD IDEAS IN YOUR HEAD that don’t quite turn out the way you envisioned?  That was sort of how my lunch went down.  I have been wanting to make an Egg Salad Sandwich ever since I had one on Whole Foods Friday.

But, for some odd reason, I thought adding Low Fat Ranch would be BETTER than using mayo/mustard.  I took one egg, plus one egg white, a little celery, bell pepper and 1 Tbsp Low Fat Ranch.

Plus Muenster cheese (since I grabbed a bagel thin instead of a thin bun) to keep it from falling through the hole.

IMG_1412

Plus a few pepper slices for crunch.

IMG_1417

5 points ~ Looks good, right? Eh, it was intersting ~ not bad, but, it was definitely NOT Egg Salad 🙂

IMG_1419

For crunch I had a side of celery and bell peppers.

IMG_1420

I decided to eat outside with a cup of soup (2 pts) and my book until a HUGE @$$ spider went running by my feet ~ ewwww I HATE spiders and this one was the size of a quarter, ok, maybe a dime but, does size matter?!

IMG_1424

I headed back inside and later consoled myself with a little CHOCOLOVE ~ Dark Chocolate + Sea Salt + Roasted Almonds = LOVE!!! (1.5 pts)

IMG_9173

For dinner, I took the night off from cooking and had 2 Vasquez SPICY Chicken Tacos (8 pts).

<><>

I am a little OCD about planning and tracking my meals.  I log my food in WW online and for fun, I did it in Calorie Count too.  I LOVE that I scored an A- on my first day 😀 go me! image

Do you all remember these????

I will be Guest Posting tomorrow for Lisa while she is on vacation over at Snack-Girl ~ Check over there in the morning to Spring the recipe for my LAVISH Cinnamon Chips!

Check out THIS LINK to read all about the BAY AREA BLOGGER MEET UP. I am excited to finally be meeting up with you all! It will be FUN! 🙂

Night all!

Oh and I have a bowl to match your cup and plate! LOL A friend gave it to me one year for my birthday- just random bowls, so I only have one. 🙂

OOOH I’ve always used my blog spark but Holy MOLY it does take like, 5 seconds to calculcate the nutritional stats in an entire recipe. WAY easier than Spark. I hate entering things one by one!!! THANK YOU for testing it out. I just created an account on Calorie Count…Look at you, you’re a trend setter!!! 🙂

Those crock pot oats look faaaabulous. *drool* I gotta start using my slow cooker more. It’s 6 quarts and I am 1 person so it’s hard to come up with something i would not mind eating for a week straight. hahahah 😛

    hey there!

i like caloriecout.com, but I actually use thedailyplate or now known as livestrong.com – only because there is an iphone application for it that is realllllly easy to use =)

i always have food ideas that dont turn out the way i expect them too, lol – you should try that egg salad sammie again, but use greek yogurt as the “mayo” – I think I have seen some recipes like that and they turn out amazing – oh an some paprika sprinkled on top is good too! kinda like a deviled egg.

I have been meaning to email you, but my laptop is actually broken, or at least temporarily!

THANK YOU THANK YOU so much for the annies package – i’m in love with everything! you seriously didn’t have to do anything, I still feel like I owe you for the foodbuzz fest. Fitbloggin was a blast – we really really missed you and Janetha there =( I know Allison, Quinn, and I are def going to blogher food – now if we can just talk ashley into it – it will be sometype of reunion =)
