Goodbye Pumpkins ~ Hello Christmas!!!

November 1, 2009 by DanicasDaily 7 Comments

I am seriously a “little things” person.  It is the littlest things that I get excited over, like….the fact that Starbuck’s came out today with their HOLIDAY CUPS!  A sure sign that Christmas is coming 😀 Yes, I know, I should use my resuable one, but, there is just something about these little red cups that put a smile on my face….Probably even more so that it was filled with FF Chai Tea Latte!

I helped get The Husband off for the day and got a few things ready for the week.  I planned out my meals and snacked on the most AMAZING Pulgiese Bread.  It’s like a dense sour dough that is crunchy on the outside and chewy/doughy on the inside.  LOVE it!  I topped it with a smear of crunchy almond butter.

While I was shopping at Trader Joe’s I came across a NEW to THEM product ~ Doesn’t this Roasted Red Pepper Hummus look like a FAMILIAR Brand ~ Hello, Sabra Hummus for only $2.49!! I still have to taste test it of course, but the packaging sure makes me think Sabra!

After shopping for balance of our eats for the week I took a little road trip to bring The Husband Lunch ~ Nothing fancy, just Subway.  I got their veggie patty on 9-grain honey oat with pepper jack cheese and ALL the produce.

IMG_4181

Their patty is shaped for their sandwiches ~ funky.  It was eh, ok – better than a plane veggie sandwich, but, not all that.  Subway seriously needs to add HUMMUS to their sandwiches ~ then, they’d be AMAZING!

I am a total chip person (LOVE crunchy salty more than chocolate!) and I definitely think sandwiches NEED chips.  I had some BBQ baked lays tucked away in my sandwich for a BBQ veggie patty sandwich 🙂

When I got back home, I had dessert.  I cannot WAIT for The Husband to finish this bag off because they call my name every day.

I shopped and shopped and shopped to my hearts content today.  I found a few goods deals on sweaters at New York & Co and Old Navy.  I also scored a pair of shorts for our cruise at Old Navy on clearance for only $9 – SCORE!  I wish I could’ve found more cruise clothes though.  I think the most exciting part of my purchases might be my new toy!  Merry Christmas to me 😀

 A BLACKBERRY STORM 2!!!

Isn’t it beautiful?! I still have no clue how to use it and need to break out the instruction book LOL, but, I am UBER excited to figure it all out.  Oh and I seriously suck at the touch screen so I do hope practice helps me out.  I felt bad for the girl having to wait like 5 minutes for me just to enter my email address LOL 🙂

I managed to stay at the mall until they closed – whoa ~ first!  When I got home I whipped up a fast and tasty dinner.  I started with steamed tri color swiss chard.

IMG_4191

Roasted Yellow & Orange Carrots with butter nut squash. I drizzled them with olive oil, sea salt and pepper then roasted them at 400 for 30 minutes.

IMG_4192

I grilled up some boneless pork ribs with Gayle’s Sweet & Sassy Honey BBQ while the veggies roasted.

IMG_4194

I inhaled all of this and went back for more 1/2 a rib and another scoop of roasted veggies – YUM!

The theme suddenly changed to RED everywhere so it must be X-mas season now. Thanksgiving is sooooo neglected.

Love everything at Trader Joe’s! I can do a lot of damage there.

Have fun with your new phone. I got an iphone a few months ago and love it. Oh and I’m a ‘little things’ person too.
