I just can’t get enough…..

September 18, 2009 by DanicasDaily 6 Comments

Happy Friday all!  The weekend and my VACATION is finally here ~ so excited for that.  I was up at 4 am this morning (that’s the problem with going to bed at 9 am).  But, I managed to be lazy in bed until 5:15 AM thinking about my day and what I wanted to do.  I decided to really push myself on my HIIT.

I ROCKED IT and am uber proud of me!  I ran the entire time – no walking breaks and sprinted the last minute at 9.0 mph all out.  That’s fast for me and my short legs :D  I actually woke The Husband up – oops LOL!  He was worried and told me to take a puff of my inhaler (I have asthma).  I felt amazing after for my new level of accomplishment.

minutes 1 & 2: 3.5 mph
minute 3: 5.0 mph
minute 4: 5.5 mph
minute 5: 6.0 mph
minute 6: 6.5 mph
minute 7: 5.0 mph
minute 8: 5.5 mph
minute 9: 6.0 mph
minute 10: 6.5 mph
minute 11: 5.0 mph
minute 12: 5.5 mph
minute 13: 6.0 mph
minute 14: 6.5 mph
minute 15: 5.0 mph
minute 16: 5.5 mph
minute 17: 6.0 mph
minute 18: 6.5 mph
minute 19: 9.0 mph (level 10 ~ all the way!!!)
minute 20-21: 3.0 mph (cool down & panting) :D Plus a few more minutes just walking really, really slow :)

I myself late this morning by chatting and hanging out with The Husband for a bit this morning since he was up versus sleeping.  Meal #1  was eaten in the car on my way to work.

1 container Oikos Organic 0% Vanilla Greek Yogurt

1/2 c TJ’s Low Fat Cottage Cheese

1/4 c sprinkle of TJ’s Fiber worms

Work flew by so fast today since I had a BIG project to finish before I went on vacation.  My tummy was sure to let me know it was time for Meal #2 exactly 3 hours later.

7 Back to Nature Organic Wheat/Flax Crackers

1 TJ’s Lite Mozzarella stick

2 oz TJ’s Maple Turkey

I LOVE snacky plates like this.  I managed to sneak out for a quick run to Whole Foods at lunch to pick up a special jar of Dark Chocolate Almond butter that I have to mail off.  While I was there I decided to trade in my Mayo-Less Tuna Sandwich for their BUILD YOUR OWN TACO SALAD for Meal #3…..MMMMM, I told you, I don’t think I could ever get enough Mexican food!  So it was a guy who served it up in my togo box so there is no prettiness about it.

Here is what I picked for my salad even though you can’t see it all.

* Organic Romaine Lettuce – veg, but, there was hardly any lettuce

* Chile Verde Chicken – Protein

* Black beans – carb

* Cilantro, onions & medium salsa – veg flavor!

* HUGE MOUND of freshly made guacamole

It comes on a deep fried tortilla that I didn’t eat.  I managed to eat about 1/2 of this because it was seriously packed with meat and beans.

Underneath that mass of guacamole was the FABULOUS chicken I told you about.  I seriously NEED to ask for the recipe next time.  I bet you can make it in the crockpot – DELISH!

They had a really cool sample that I got as I left ~ Some Mary’s Gone Crackers Sticks & Twigs plus a FREE 30 Days, 30 Dinners COOKBOOK!

IMG_1991 IMG_1992

FUN, description on the back!  I actually have been wanting to try these so this is a good way without having to have the whole bag.

IMG_1998

When I got back I worked my tail off and was a bad BFL’r.  I skipped my Meal #4.  This was a REALLY, REALLY bad idea.  I was so wrapped up in trying to wrap things up that I ended up super hungry as I drove home in the hour long Friday commuter traffic.  Then, The Husband wanted to get ready for our vacation by doing some shopping (still no SNACK, but, I did steal a couple of his Sun Chips).

I picked up yet another magazine ~ EveryDay with Rachael Ray!!  I have to stock up for vacation, right?! 🙂

IMG_1999

And, I found 3 NEW to me flavors of Pure Protein Bars ~ Blueberry Crumb Cake, Peanut Marshmallow Eclipse and S’MORES Deluxe!

IMG_2001

I was also intrigued by these Snacktrition Cashews where they bake fiber in them.  I LOVE the concept that they contribute 2% of your purchase to help feed the hungry.

Meal #4 ~ While I cooked dinner, I broke out some cashews in an effort to NOT eat a bunch of non-planned stuff.  I LOVE cashews – they are my favorite nut, but, I honestly didn’t like these at all.  They tasted like old nuts with a funky flavor.  I told The Husband he can have the bag which is something I do NOT do with cashews 🙂

Meal #5 was the fastest thing I could think of to whip up since are fridge is getting pretty empty.  The star of tonight’s dinner was definitely Trader Joe’s Sweet Apple Chicken Sausages.  OMG ~ I LOVE these (they are only 3 WWP if you are counting!)

IMG_2008 IMG_2009

I split them in half, but, not all the way through and “fried” them up in some nonstick olive oil spray.  If I knew how to insert a bunch of hearts right here, I would ~ TOTAL LOVE!

IMG_2011

I whipped up an egg/egg white scramble with Laughing Cow Lite, Hot Sauce, Sea Salt & Black Pepper to go with it.

IMG_2010

Plus 2 slices of TJ’s Fat Free Multi-Grain Bread.

I was FINALLY satisfied ~ ahhhh!  I am pretty sure I won’t have Meal #6 because I will be asleep.  I really missed having any real fruit/veggies today.  I will definitely have to make up for it tomorrow (FREE DAY or not).  I am debating saving my FREE DAY for Sunday – Day 1 of vacation.

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What is your favorite go to exercises when you travel?  I am looking to exercise every body part (1 day upper body and 1 day lower body with 2 HIIT days) while I am on vacation.  My goal is to work every major muscle group at least once.

Tomorrow is going to be busy ~ I plan on:

* Going to my WW meeting

* Taking measurements, pictures and updating my BFL week 4 Status

* Make a new recipe

* Prepare a special guest post

* Pack

* Clean up the house and get it ready for vacation

* Do something fun?

I am sure there is more to it, but, that is what I can think of for now.  I am off to read and relax but have a feeling I’ll probably zonk out before I get much read.

Nite all!

    I am SO happy for you + your 9.0mph accomplishment! That is so great!! I LOVE chicken sausage- but I have never tried sweet apple! Looks fantastic. I need to try that kind!

    As for workouts… I’ve found jump roping is a fantastic on-the-go exercise, as well as walking/running which you can also do for HIIT. As for upper/lower body, you said you were bringing dumbells? I’d say do everything you can with those dumbells! I’m sure you’ll do great.

    Have fun!
