Happy Long Weekend All! When I arrived home last night, The Husband told me the front door was broken so I had to enter through the back door. I thought it was strange, but, just agreed and followed him. I set my stuff down in the kitchen and walked into the living room to see…..
Our Tent all set up for INDOOR CAMPING!
He has been telling me he wants to go camping ever since our camping trip to South Lake Tahoe in July. He figured if we couldn’t get out to camp this weekend since I had to work yesterday, we would just camp inside.
Of course, he totally set it up so we could watch movies through the front of the tent. He is so funny but, it was such a fun surprise.
This morning we were up bright and early to go weigh in since we are heading to the city tomorrow for the day. I am so excited to say I LOST ANOTHER LB even though we weighed in a day early. I now officially weigh what I weighed back in December 2009 and that in itself feels amazing.
Breakfast started with a Grande Nonfat Decaf Latte with Caramel Drizzle (SF) – 3 points+
Then, I rounded out my latte with 2 more Simply Filling Foods ~ a perfectly hard boiled egg and a banana (2 points+)
I picked up the latest Weight Watchers I LOVE Leftovers Cookbook today too. So many tasty things I need to try…..
We spent the morning walking around Lowe’s, Home Depot and Sam’s Club before heading over to the Farmer’s Market. For those who always ask to see what I buy….here it goes.
It really just depends on what looks good each week and what “deals” are going on…Like these peppers….All 5 were $2.
I totally picked up this zucchini because of the color.
Tomatoes are always on my list. I buy my cherry tomatoes at the Thursday market because they are $1 per pound and then, I buy “big” heirloom tomatoes plus Romas (6 for $1) on Saturday.
Perfect for salads, caprese salads, salsas, sandwiches, burgers or just eating them straight up.
It’s grape season now and the market usually has 3-4 varieties…there is nothing as tasty as grapes picked straight from the vine. They are sweeter, crunchier and really do have a just picked off the vine taste. I snacked on these all day.
Two types of Pluots with yellow & white nectarines…I skip the peaches because I do not like the fuzz ~ it’s a texture thing for me.
Last, but, not least, my favorite watermelon vendor! It is this little old man who sells them with his daughter and grand daughter every year for $5 any size. They are always sweet, amazing and I stock up on his last day of the season (we have 3 in our fridge now since today was his last day until next July).
They have a knife vendor at the market that will sharpen your knives, people who sell cheese, bread, eggs, pastries, popcorn, Mexican Food, jewelry and more. I love just walking around and seeing everything because each market is truly different.
Speaking of knives…..I bought a new Stainless Steel set today! I was totally sold when the lady told me the middle knife is the one they use on Chopped!
Lunch was a big plate of Teriyaki Chicken, Sweet Chili Chicken and Steamed Veggies from Thai Max. (Simply Filling Like) – 8 points+
Dinner was simple and exactly what we both were craving. Side salad topped with 1 Tbsp Newman’s Lite Lime Vinaigrette (SF + 2 WPA for the dressing & avocado) – 2 points+
BBQ Chicken topped with the Blackberry BBQ Sauce The Husband’s mom brought us back from her trip. I love how you can taste the blackberries, yet, it tasted just like a good, smoky BBQ sauce with a spicy kick. (SF) – 3 points+
Plus sweet yellow corn from the Thursday Farmer’s Market (SF) – 2 points+
STATS (12 am – 9 pm)
- 2,426 calories burned
- 7,401 steps taken
- 2 WPA used, 0 WPA remaining (20 daily points+)
I have just 2 days left for my Active Link Assessment ~ I can’t wait to hear what my 12 week challenge is. I will catch up with you all tomorrow after we get back from The City.
Night all!

Haha, sounds like a great idea. Your hubby is wonderful. And much nicer than the TV on the ice chest, right. I remember that picture. Have a great holiday weekend.
