Keeping It Real…

Happy Friday all! Today was such a productive day and I am feeling good about all that I accomplished. It is my last Friday I’ll have for doing my chores before I have to switch back to Saturdays….but more on that next week!

Before heading out the door, I had 2 Krusteaz Protein Pancakes (4 sp) topped with 1/2 Tbsp Land O Lakes Whipped Butter (1 sp) & 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup (3 sp) with berries on the side.Here is what I accomplished in 4.5 hours this morning:

  • Took The Husband a Starbucks – patted myself on the back for resisting getting one for me.
  • Planned our meals for the week, then, stocked up at Trader Joe’s and our local grocery store.
  • Picked up a few things at Target and Sam’s Club.
  • Finished all our laundry.

I was starving by the time I got to Sam’s Club and had a brief thought of, ohh samples. But, they only had cuties and carrots with dip so I passed. I think it’s kinda funny as these would’ve been “good” samples to have but that’s actually the reason I passed them up lol. If it was a chip or potstickers, well….

As soon as I got in the car, I busted open the cheese and estimated a heaping Tbsp of pistachios (4 sp). My snack allowed me to come home and get my workout on – C25K 4.3 – 38 minutes with 16 jogging! In my head, I wanted to do another workout but my legs were tired and I was ready for lunch.

I quickly pulled lunch together with 1/3 of Taylor Farms Chopped Vegetable Salad topped with leftover chicken. (5 sp).Served up with a little Bubly – I liked this flavor.3 hours later, I snacked on 2 oz buffalo chicken and a Mandarin.I was hungry again an hour later. I really wanted to dive into The Husband’s peanut M&Ms but instead grabbed a banana. Then, I kinda undid that healthy choice with a serving of BBQ chips…..tracked the 5 sp, moving on and keeping it real.

I balanced out my day by making Turkey Taco salads for dinner.

Romaine, carrots, sweet peppers, tomatoes, turkey taco meat, 1/2 oz 2% cheddar (1 sp), 1/8 avocado (1 sp), 8 chili cheese Fritos for crunch and 1 sp, 1 Tbsp 0% Greek yogurt and hot sauce.Even though eating two salads in one day sometimes makes me feel too healthy, I have to say this satisfied and I am finally full!

I survived a “hungry” day and I feel good about my choices.

    What I do love about you is that you DO keep it real. Chips, Fritos. Yes. Those days happen. We are human. Sometimes I eat cuz I want to, not because I am hungry.
