LOVE at First BITE!

July 13, 2010 by DanicasDaily 13 Comments

Happy Tuesday all!  Work was insane today, but, I have to say, I had the BEST day ~ Seriously ~ Farmer’s Markets + Annie The Baker Cookies + Sushi + BAVARIAN PRETZEL CROSSAINTS ~ complete me!  But, more on that in a minute….

I actually bought this Raspberry Jam when I was pondering how to make my POM Infused Chipotle BBQ Sauce.  I figured if I needed/wanted more sweetness, I could add this 😀

Dickinson's Purely Fruit

I LOVE that it’s only 1 point per serving with a decent sugar content.

Nothing artificial …sweetened with fruit 😉

On top of an Oro Wheat Double Fiber Muffin with 1 Tbsp Whipped Butter! (5 pts)

Orowheat Double Fiber English Muffins

I added 2 1/2 cups of watermelon for good measure (2 pts)

Mid morning snackage ~ a 2% Strawberry FAGE which I probably could’ve made myself with that jam LOL….sometimes it’s just fun to scoop though (3 pts)

Fage 2% with Strawberry

Lunch was AWESOME on so many levels!  I scored so many good things at the Farmer’s Market and came back to have a Spicy Brown Rice Hawaiian Roll (Tuna, cucumber, AVOCADO, brown rice, sesame seeds, tobiko).  I think it could’ve been spicer LOL….I ate 9 pieces (5 pts).

Tsunami Hawaiian Roll

One of my FAVORITE reasons for going to the Napa Farmer’s Market is because Annie The Baker is there!  She honestly makes the BEST COOKIES I’ve ever had in my life!

Did you all know she is on TWITTER & FACEBOOK now? Follow & Like her because her pictures will make you drool and she will give you cookies at the Foodbuzz Fest 😉

Rainbow Sprinkles Sugar Cookie ~ My FAVORITE & I don’t share it :D!

The best sugar cookie you'll ever eat

Doodle Snicker ~ I LOVE how she uses Turbinado Sugar.

Snicker Doodles!!

She has a NEW cookie out made with Guittard Cocoa Dough plus Milk & Dark Chocolate Chips called Cocoa Loco.  I promised my cookie sharing co-worker I’d wait to try it until she was in the office to share with me tomorrow…it was pretty hard to resist.

Cocoa Loco

Chocolate Chunk ~ she gave me TWO since I told her I’d actually share with The Husband this time…I<3 her!

Chocolate Chunk

If I didn’t have SUSHI, I might’ve considered having this for lunch.

Annie The Baker Cookies

I refrained though and had 1/2 my Sugar Cookie saving the other half for dessert. (4 pts)

Rainbow Sprinkle Sugar Cookie

After rambling on about all our favorite things, Annie gave me a taste of her FAVORITE ~ A BAVARIAN PRETZEL CROSSAINT from October Feast!

Seriously, have you all ever heard of these??  They are a croissant rolled in the same dough as Bavarian Pretzels ~ freakin’ ingenius!!!

Obviously, give me samples and I’ll buy whatever is being sold ;)  It was LOVE at first bite!

Bavarian Pretzel Crossaint

I restocked my Pumpkin Bolani Bread ~ sweet, spicy, doughy, totally low-cal/low-point <3!

Pumpkin Bolani Bread

Some of the BIGGEST Organic Beets & Organic Corn I’ve ever seen.

Beets & Corn

4 bags of Organic Greens for $5!

Organic Greens

5 lbs for $5 ~ 2 types of nectarines, plums & peaches!

Summer Fruit

I pretty much spent the afternoon DREAMING about this sandwich and smelling the Bavarian Pretzel Bread.  Simple sandwich a la Annie’s recommendation other than I left my plain and untoasted ~ 2 oz Honey Ham Plus 2% Swiss! (9 point estimate)

Ham & Cheese Crossaintwich

I cannot even tell you all how good this bread is!  It’s soft, chewy and slightly crispy – you get hints of the buttery croissant, yet it tastes just like a Bavarian Pretzel ~ AMAZING!

I had a simple salad on the side topped with Newman’s Light Lime Vinaigrette!

Simple Mixed Greens Salad

LOVE!!!!  I almost didn’t want to share the other one with The Husband ~ it was THAT good 😀

I should do some “work” since my todo list is HUGE, but I really think my latest book ~ “The Undomestic Goddess” is calling my name. I LOVE Sophia Kinsella’s books.

Night all!

Love Dickinsons Preserves. The Cherry is my favorite but I think it may be sugar free which means it probably has artificial sweeteners. Bummer!

I guess I need to try their Purely Fruit line.

I am so drooling over that Bavarian Pretzel Bread. And the Pumpkin Bolani, even though I have no idea what it is.

I LOVE Sophie Kinsella too! Her book Twenties Girls is by far her best work (and I didn’t think you could top the Shopaholic books, but it is sooooo good and funny!). Do you know she writes under the name Madeline Wickham as well?
