On the run…..

May 1, 2010 by DanicasDaily 8 Comments

Today has been such an AWESOME Saturday!  It started out with a fun 10.15 mile run/walk with my sister, refueling at my FAVORITE Salad Place, Froyo, Shopping and then grilling out ~ what more can a girl ask for?! :D  Oh wait….and it was 80 degrees and sunny ALL DAY!

We took it easy on our run today with a 4:2 run/walk interval and walked the last mile.  We ended up being in the middle of the Parkway Half Marathon when we were on the trail so we just played along high 5’ing people when we passed :D  It was GREAT MOTIVATION LOL.

I had actually planned to have a Sausage Eggwich Pre-Run this morning, but, I just wasn’t feeling it.  I really was craving NUT BUTTER and TJ’s Fat Free Multi-Grain Bread (3 pts).

I only ended up eating 1/2 my banana because I was full (1 pt).

IMG_3587

We actually pondered going to a different place after our run, but, JACK’s URBAN EATS totally won again!

I wasn’t going to get any meat, but, I found the words Spicy Buffalo Chicken coming out of my mouth…..seriously, how can you resist this?!

IMG_3594

MMMMM, I LOVE Jack’s Salads ~ they seriously complete me :D!!!

IMG_3589

10 points and worth every one!

*Mixed Greens

* Kidney Bean/Garbanzo Blend

* Cranberries

* Candied Walnuts

* Mandarin Oranges

* Pepperoncini’s

* Red Bell Pepper

* House Made Balsamic

Believe it or not, I couldn’t finish my salad….I had my 5 a day in a bowl for sure, but, I had to make sure I saved room for THIS!

I started to take pictures inside and get ready to do a fun write up on Big Spoon when the worker bee sorta freaked out saying pictures are NOT ALLOWED!

She said that competitors come in to take pictures and steal their ideas.  I hate to say it, but, ummmm, doesn’t their sign say it all and self serve idea is EVERYWHERE!  Their shop looks like every other place I’ve been 😀

Funny people!

I do have to say that I LOVE that their site has the nutritionals on it – that’s a big PLUS in my book.

My cup was 1/2 cookies n cream, 1/2 VANILLA BEAN with sprinkles, yogurt chips, chocolate covered sunflower seeds & almonds, s’mores and the kitchen sin, 🙂 (5 pts)

It was tasty, but, not as good as my favorite OverTheTopShop 🙂

When I got home, my “Kind of a Big Deal Around Here Husband” was wearing his sexy boots and ready to hit up the HUGE town sale!

Over 150 houses once a year hold a community garage sale, not my thing, but, he LOVES it.  I got in probably a million more steps because you park and walk everywhere 🙂

IMG_3604

I also took a peak at the garden only to see…..SNAP PEAS!!! Ok, we only have like 3 or 4, but, I am so excited!

IMG_3612

Tonight was the perfect night to grill out !

We started out with crisp salads prepped by The Husband.  I topped mine with Newman’s Own Light Lime Vinaigrette. (1 pt)

IMG_3606

3 oz of Flank Steak marinated in Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki (4 pts)

IMG_3607

I made baked sweet potato fries for me (2 pts)

IMG_3609

Annie’s Wisconsin Shells & Cheddar for The Husband….Is it possible to resist Mac N Cheese?! (2 pts)

IMG_3608

The Husband made a “steak sandwich” and I just had my mushrooms on the side with a little TJ’s Organic Baked Beans (.5 pt).

I was totally on the run all day today having fun, but, I still NEED to start my May’s New Years resolution….100 crunches a day!

I so I have a feeling I am not going to make it through our movie LOL….I am old 😀

Tomorrow is another FUN, but, busy day with a trip to the city to meet up with some fellow bloggers and Open Sky friends ~ I can’t wait!

Night all!

    Damn, you go girl with your run!!! What a fabulous way to start the day off right! And that is just so motivating to keep going with the marathoners around you 🙂

    And can I just steal all of your eats from today? Seriously, it all looks so good.

    We don’t have self-serve frozen yogurt ANYWHERE around here. If I were a business person (and had some money), I think I’d start one. And I’d be eating there nearly every day!

    Delicious eats!

    I WISH we had a froyo place like that! We have a Yogen Fruz, which is blended froyo/fruit, and it’s good… but not as good as self serve!

    Haha your hubby is funny. Sounds like you had a great run too!!
    We have a yogurt place called Golden Spoon here and they have the BEST flavors. I got red velvet cupcake and cake batter yesterday…oh it is so heavely! And the nutritional status is also pretty great!!
