Happy Sunday all! Thanks for all the comments on our Fall Decorations and this years Pumpkin Family. Fall is by far one of my favorite seasons for everything from decorating to baking to the weather. There is just something in the air from like September 1st through January that makes everyone happier. I know The Husband thinks I am funny for thinking that, but, it’s true…watch and you will see LOL.
I really feel like today’s weigh in at the scale was a “gift” because I really do not think I earned my loss of .4 lbs, but, I’ll take it! I honestly had a challenging week on so many levels from long hours, tons of stress, only fitting in one run and more importantly, eating some quite a few not so Simply Filling meals (hello Dim Sum!) I am glad I got this week out of my system because it really helped to motivate and re-focus my journey.
After all, it’s now 7 weeks until Thanksgiving and 6 weeks to Jamaica!!!
This morning started off with 3 Brown Sugar Banana Nut Mini Muffins (SF + 5 WPA) – 5 points+. I actually made the chopped walnuts bigger this time and you could really taste them.
Plus a banana for staying power and to help keep me at just 3 muffins.
After our Weight Watchers meeting, we headed over to Starbuck’s for lattes. Grande Nonfat Decaf Latte with Caramel drizzle on top. (SF) – 3 points+
I totally planned our trip up to my nieces party to make sure we had time to stop for lunch at Jack’s Urban Eats. If I was ever to open a restaurant one day, I would totally open a Jack’s ~ I LOVE how simple, fresh and delicious everything is here and never get tired of it even though we just ate there on Friday night.
In today’s salad mix (100% Simply Filling) – 6 points+ :
- mixed greens plus grilled chicken with 6 toppings:
- pepperoncini’s
- grapes
- kidney & garbanzo beans
- grilled mushrooms
- pickled red onions
- cherry tomatoes
- Balsamic vinegar & olive oil on the side
After lunch we were off to the Roller Derby for my nieces 9th Birthday Party. Let me just say I didn’t realize at all how LONG it had had been since I skated until my niece asked…..After pondering, it’s been at least 25 years! Man, that made me feel old when I said it
I am proud to say I remembered how to skate and quickly found my groove like I had just skated yesterday. The Husband took a little bit of convincing since this was only the third time he has ever skated in his life….he did great and only fell once making it look like he planned it!
My Mom snapped pictures and took video of all of us Thanks Mom!
Watching my 5 year old nephew run skate ~ so funny that we had the same expression lol.
So fun ~ I can’t wait to skate again even if we were pretty wiped out after a little less than 2 hours lol.
The Husband picked dinner tonight ~ any guesses (on what he ALWAYS picks)???
Steak Sandwiches….not just any steak sandwiches, but, the WW Best Ever Cheesesteak Sandwiches. (SF + 2 WPA for the hollowed out bread) – 8 points+.
HERE IS WHAT IS ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
- Honey Chipotle Chicken Salads
- BLTA’s, Squash “Fries”
- BBQ Chicken, Corn and Parmesan Squash
- Maybe a Delicata Squash Pasta or Sweet Potato & Squash Dish with “bacon” like this Butternut Squash Lasagna or Butternut Mac n Cheese
- Shrimp Scampi over whole wheat linguine, salad
STATS (12 am – 8 pm) ~I will say both my BM and AL didn’t really capture all that skating, but, maybe that’s because you roll a lot more so than step?
- 2,316 calories burned
- 4,391 steps taken
- 7 WPA used, 42 WPA remaining (22 daily points+)
- AL – 2 Activity Points, 81 %
What is on your menu this week?
Night all!
“There is just something in the air from like September 1st through January that makes everyone happier.” – So happy that you notice that too! There is a feeling in the air that just makes me smile. ^_^ My favorite time of year.
The roller derby looks fun! I bought my boyfriend a Groupon of indoor skating for his birthday but we have yet to cash it in yet. Must get it on the calendar soon!
P.s. congrats on the loss!!
we LOOOOVE THE DERBY!!!!
I agree there is definitely something special about autumn air, I love it! Especially early autumn when it’s not too hot and not too cold (at least in my neck of the woods), the weather is just perfect! I seriously can’t remember the last time I went roller skating but i’m willing to bet it’s been a good 15 years!
The Honey Chipotle Chicken Salads sound amazing! Is the recipe for that already on your blog, or will you be posting it?
My husband would loveee one of those steak sandwiches 🙂 I don’t care for red meat so usually we’ll make chicken sausage sandwiches [hoagie style or on ciabatta rolls] with sautéed peppers and onions!
Did you try “naming your activity” for your skating? When I named my 7 mile bike ride, my total % increased by 25%. Our leaders have told us that some movements like riding a bike or using the elliptical are not measured quite quite the same if you don’t name them because your body movements are different. I love roller skating and it is on my goal list. I have 30 more pounds to go to hit “Onederland” and I think a trip to the roller rink might be a good non food reward! I am in love with my ActiveLink…my husband thinks I am nuts most nights because I am working so hard to reach 100%…I put laundry away one piece at a time from the living room to the bedroom, run from kitchen to the bedroom 50 times, swing my kettlebell for 5 minutes, do toe taps while I am heating up his tortillas…whatever it takes! I hurt my foot about 6 weeks ago and my arm about 3 weeks ago so I have not been able to formally workout, but I do my best to still reach my 100% on a daily basis. It is a good challenge for sure! Hope naming that activity helps some for the roller skating…best hopes for a great week!
I love fall also, but it’s not feeling very fall-like at the moment. Supposed to be 95*! Yikes. At least it cools off at night.
Looking at your skating pics is making me want to go !
Your weekly menu sounds tasty!! I don’t have a set in stone plan yet, but I did go shopping – so we shall see. Def making a stir fry, something with ground turkey (meatloaf?) & something in the crockpot (chicken stew?).
Raising hand – another fall lover here!! I probably haven’t been skating in 25 years either – for my our 10th birthday we had a roller skating party at the community center – it was so much fun!
Happy Monday!
You guys are so cute! Glad to see you in a pic instead of food (even though I love your pictures and am constantly downloading and trying your recipes!!!). Looks like fun was had by all…..
Girl that roller skating looks fun. I haven’t been in years either but always loved it as a kid. My sister and I went every weekend when we were younger. I miss it. Maybe I can have a girls night out with her and do some skating one of these weekends. Sounds like fun to me – plus burning calories to top it off.
Your hat plate is so cute. I love it.
On my menu for this week:
Homemade Veggie Soup with Veggies from our Garden,
Cabbage Stir Fry,
Rice and Kimchi
Veggie, Hummus Wrap with Sweet Onion Tomato Vinaigrette
And probably a salad or two. YUMMY
Is that Cal-Skate?
If it is, I grew up skating there! I haven’t been in years though.
LOVE this! you guys are just like kiddos
