Rolly Polly

I LOVE it when your husband wakes you up at 5:30 am on a weekend for no apparent reason at all….then, goes back to sleep leaving you wide awake ~ cool huh?!  🙂

Our Saturday was actually pretty awesome ~ it included Starbucks, the farmer’s market, shopping, reading, relaxing and going out to eat.  What  more can a girl ask for??

I waited ALL week to get a Grande FF Decaf Latte with Caramel Drizzle at Starbuck’s and it was 110% worth it.  I LOVE lattes and the fact that I can totally justify them as a dairy serving plus protein too :)  On the side I had a Thomas Light Double Fiber English Muffin with a little REAL Butter.

Did you all noticed that The Husband reorganized our pumpkin family?  Who puts the biggest pumpkin on top?!  He was so proud of it, I had to leave it 🙂

The Farmer’s Market is looking so bare lately, but, I still managed to score some goodies for the week.

IMG_3291

2 BIG red tomatoes & BIG cherry tomatoes

2 BIG red bell peppers (2 for $1 – awesome!)

BIG red grapes

Butternut Squash

Green Beans

I was definitely ready for lunch when we got home.  I pulled out these Trader Joe’s Vegetable Masala burgers that I picked up a few weeks back.

IMG_3216

The nutritional stats are not too bad ~ 3 Weight Watcher Points each.

IMG_3218 IMG_3219

I cooked mine up in a pan with nonstick spray.  OMG ~ AMAZINGNESS!  They are like a spicy potato cake or I guess the proper term would be a hashbrown.  I LOVED the curry flavor and the sweetness of the corn/veggies.  I’d definitely buy these again.

IMG_3223

On the side, I had some roasted butternut squash.  I cooked it in the oven with a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil, sea salt and freshly ground pepper on 400 for 30 minutes.  It tastes just like “fries” this way.

IMG_3230

Plus ketchup for my burger and fry dipping =  the PERFECT vegged out lunch!

IMG_3231

This afternoon I did something I haven’t done is so long ~ NOTHING!  I sat with my magazines (read 2) and my book (Diet Girl).  It was completely awesome.  I broke for snack mid afternoon.

IMG_3296

I also stole a few handfuls of The Husband’s popcorn that he was having while watching football.

IMG_3298

We were looking forward to dinner tonight since we were meeting The Husband’s friends at his FAVORITE new place Texas Roadhouse.  They were taking us out tonight just because they can ~ AWESOME!  Good food + good company = good times!

IMG_3301

After waiting a MILLION years plus a few peanuts later (our wait was 1 hour 35 minutes!), we were seated at our table.  I LOVE that they bring out their amazing sweet rolls right as you sit down.

IMG_3299

Obviously I was starving so I had 1 or 2 or maybe 3 rolls with their fantastic homemade cinnamon butter.  I seriously need to learn how to make this butter ~ it’s SO GOOD!

IMG_3300

We had TWO free appetizers tonight!  You know you can’t pass up a FREE appetizer.  I had 1 cheesy bacon tater skin.

IMG_3305

Plus TWO of these things they call Rattlesnake Bites.

IMG_3306

They are sort of like jalapeño poppers except the jalapeño is chopped up and put inside with the melty cheese.  I am pretty sure there isn’t anything healthy about them, but, sometimes you just have to go for it!

IMG_3307

The Husband ordered the monster rib eye steak, ribs and fries ~ he ate it ALL!  I did steal a few of his fries because I haven’t met a fry I shouldn’t try (ha ~ it rhymes!) 🙂

IMG_3313

I got smarter this time around.  Since I knew I’d be chowing down on bread, appetizers, bread and more bread, I stuck with a small dinner.  I had their house salad to start with ranch on the side.  Note to self, next time get the Italian dressing ~ it rocks!

IMG_3312

My main dish was the 4 grilled shrimp appetizer.  It was good but would’ve been better without so much butter.

IMG_3318

I officially feel like a rolly polly ~ so full and sorta greased out!  We are off to be super stuffed and watch a movie the couch because that’s how we “roll”!

Apple Hill is tomorrow ~ yeah ~ can’t wait, can’t wait!  See you all tomorrow night!

Those are some of my favorite veggie burgers. I have to be careful reading these blogs – now I’m craving some of the greasy goodness!

I went to the Farmer’s market yesterday, too. It was the last of the season, and I was so sad! I was dying to get some heirloom tomatoes, but they were THREE dollars a pound. that means ONE would have been like $6!!I did score some fresh figs though. I’m pretty psyched for those! It’s really interesting to watch the produce change as the season gets later. What movie did you go see? D and I just saw Whip It–good one 🙂 xoxo

Not even Starbucks could save my bf from being killed for waking me up at 5:30am! LOL!

Anyway, your farmers’ market eats look good, and I love those pumpkins in the background of that first picture.

Also, those Masala Burgers from TJ’s are awesome, aren’t they?! I love eating them on a whole wheat bun with some sliced up avocado… delish!

Glad you got to have some relaxing “do-nothing” time. There’s not much better than kicking back with a magazine and a book or two, and just watching the day go by…
