Happy Tuesday all! I am not sure if it’s the off season whether or the fact that work today started at 430 am and ended at 830 PM, but, it sure feels like it should be Wednesday or Thursday (not quite yet Friday). I know this week is going to be challenging with all the fun eating events going on, but, I am totally prepared to conquer it!
Breakfast a la The Husband ~ a Healthy Egg Roll complete with smiles. Fun fact ~ whenever he makes us breakfast, my egg roll always has something drawn on it ~ smiley, heart….It’s so funny.

Today was such an action packed busy day, but, I still managed to find time for a little fun. I ended up meeting one of my good friends at the Napa Valley Farmer’s Market to stock up on fruit and veggies before heading over to the Oxbow Market for lunch.
Lunch was at one of my favorite places called C Casa. Everything they make is local, sustainable, free range, grass fed, environmentally friendly and honestly just plain delicious!
We started off sharing a small side salad that was crispy & light ~ I totally love the toasted pepitas (so much funner to say than pumpkin seeds) 2 points+ (SF + 2 WPA) for half.
C Chop Salad ~ with queso fresco, red bells, pumpkin seeds & creamy cilantro lime dressing.
The main draw to C Casa for me is what I call their Salad Tacos. Every single taco they make starts with a fresh tortilla ~ as in they actually pull a ball of dough, press it and throw it on the grill with each other. What makes it a “salad taco” is that they pack all these delicious veggies on top of each taco forming taco mountains.
C CASA CHICKEN ~ with cotija cheese, avocado, pico de gallo, chopped romaine,
garlic aioli, cilantro & chipotle aioli (8 points+) – SF + 3 WPA
I did sneak a few bites of the Potato Poblano Taco Filling, but, decided I’d much rather have dessert.
Remember Annie The Baker’s Cookies?! I finally got my fix again served up with a Ritual Americano….words cannot describe these dough ball peanut butter cookies with mini peanut butter cups in side! I’ve missed Annie 4 points+ (SF + 4 WPA)
I decided to snack on one of the nectarines I bought and a 1/2 oz. of cashews late in the day since I knew The Husband was getting pizza for us tonight. I figured it would help make it easier to stick to just two slices. 2 points+ (SF+2 WPA)
I am so proud of him for ordering veggie pizza for us! I had two slices of our medium pizza topped with crush red pepper flakes of course!
The best part (aside from it being real pizza!) is I stuck to just 2 slices ~ success! 8 points+

I’m trying to take your lead, but I just haven’t mastered this eating out thing…must be the wine 🙁
Nancy says
Gail, I don’t understand (1) how to calculate points for meals I prepare myself and, (2) like you, I think, calculate points for restaurant/store bought items. Why am I just not getting it?
Gail H. says
Nancy, it’s a challenge! But if you are an on-line member of WW I find that the recipe builder is a BIG help, plus there are also other web-sites that can help. Bottom line, in the beginning, if you are just starting: if you can’t find a point value for an ingredient, stay away…now the restaurant thing is much trickier, although most places do have all the NI on their web-sites to figure out their P+. Hope this helps!

As for calculating points on meals you prepare yourself, the easiest way is to go online and enter your recipe into the Recipe Builder. If you don’t have access to the online tools, you can just make a list of all the ingredients used and the points for each ingredient. Once you have all of the points figured out for each item, total them up and then divide that number by the number of servings your meal is and you have how many points each serving of your meal is. This was a hard thing to figure out at first, but once you get the hang of it you will be good to go. Good Luck and I hope this helps!

Those Tacos look delicious! Here in Minnesota there is a Mexican restaurant that serves “Lettuce Tacos” and instead of tortilla’s you get big lettuce leafs accompanied with strips of fresh veggies like peppers & cucumber and strips of meat like beef and chicken. They are my absolute favorite and pretty low in points!

My husband does the same thing to my eggs! Usually he draws a dick and balls though – not cute stuff like a smiley face! 😀

That salad and those tacos look delicious! I am totally jealous of all of the great food places around you. I wish I had all of those options here! I may have to do my own versions of both of those myself.
