Santana Row

November 1, 2012 by DanicasDaily 11 Comments

Happy Pumpkin Day everyone!  I am glad you all enjoyed this week’s Wordless Wednesday.  We fell in love with that adorable pup taking the Corn Dog picture when we were at the Farmer’s Market Scavenger Hunt for the Foodbuzz Festival.

I have been craving Sweet Potato Hash Browns ever since I made them. I figured they fit perfectly in my day since they are orange just like pumpkins.

I have been so excited for the road trip to Santana Row that we had planned for today.  One of my best friends always talks about this place and yet, I’ve never been.

On our way down, we snacked on some of these PopCorner Kettle Chips.  Salty, crunchy, sweet, corn-y and the best part is that they are only 3 points+ a serving.  We stocked up on some super cute shoes at DSW and strolled through World Market before heading down “The Row”.

This outdoor mall is so quaint like a European Village with a bunch of fun shops, restaurants and coffee shops with outdoor dining.  I love the idea of an outdoor Wine Bar too Open-mouthed smile

One of the main reasons for our trip was to ponder ideas on how to use the Sur La Tab Gift Card I won at the Foodbuzz Fest.  So many ideas……and I still cannot decide lol.

I really think I am tempted to get the ravioli maker or fresh pasta attachments for my Kitchen Aid Mixer.

The other reason was to not only buy Barefoot Contessa’s New FoolProof Cook Book, but, to get our tickets to meet her at her book signing in a couple of weeks. Gahhh ~ so excited!!

After walking all over The Row, we ended up at Pizza Antica for a late lunch/dinner.

My first choice was to try their Pumpkin Beer since I’ve never had it, but, it was sold out.  So, I went with my second, their featured Pinot Noir which paired perfectly with our delicious Italian meal.

IMG_4308

The roasted tomato soup amazed me because it was so creamy with the perfect drizzle of garlic olive oil, yet, they didn’t use any cream at all.  It tasted just like someone had roasted a delicious sour dough bread and spread it with roasted garlic and tomatoes. (SF) – 3 points+

We shared the Fennel Sausage, Portobello Mushroom, Roasted Onion with Tomato Sauce.

IMG_4315

Every single thing about this pizza was fantastic.  You could really taste that they made everything from scratch including the cheese.  The sausage had the perfect balance of garlicky, spice without the fennel being too over bearing.  The sweet onions and roasted portabellas literally melted in your mouth and were balanced out with the light tang of the tomato sauce. The crust was thin and light, yet, with all that doughy pizza goodness.

I had 3 slices and it was worth every single points+ used.  12 points+

I honestly cannot wait to go back and visit Santana Row….it will be hard to convince myself to try something new since that pizza place is on my top 10 list now.

We grabbed lattes for the drive home and made it back just in time to hand out some candy to the trick or treaters with The Husband. (SF) – 3 points+

  • 5,998 steps taken

Today is the last chance to get you hands on a case of some delicious Greek Yogurt – Go enter now if you have not already.

Looks like you had a fun day! I am bummed that I used all of my sweet potatoes to make roasted root vegetables – that hash has me drooling. 😉 Have a great day!

I started making your “fried” eggwiches for my 2 teenage boys and now they keep asking for them! Made them for dinner last night, then had to make them before school this morning! They love them on an english muffin, with some hot sauce.
I HAVE to make those sweet potatoes soon, maybe the kids will even try them!

Just found your blog today, while searching for information on Weight Watcher’s new 360 program and am enjoying some of your older posts. I LOVE Pizza Antica and eat at the Lafayette location often. You ordered my favorite pie, though I take the mushrooms off – EEW! Anyway, congrats on your weight loss success. I’ll bookmark your blog!
