Short & Sweet

November 14, 2009 by DanicasDaily 9 Comments

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet.  We were up early and worked our booties off today helping our friends get one of their rooms remodeled so that it will be ready for their Thanksgiving visitors.  I was soooo looking forward to a lazy Saturday, but, I couldn’t say no since they always help us out around our house too.

This morning I was too sleepy to think of what sounded good for breakfast so I made up a quick banana almond butter sandwich togo.

The Husband offered up a FREE Starbuck’s for helping him out today.  Ummm…..not being one to turn down a Starbuck’s EVER 😀 I got The Real DEAL ~ A GOOOOOD Non-Fat Chai Tea Latte (unlike Peet’s!).  I was sad that they were out of the holiday cups 🙁 At least I got a little cheer with my coffee sleeve.

I was rewarded AGAIN at lunch with Chicken tacos from my FAVORITE Mexican place in town ~ Vasquez Deli.  I LOVE their crunchy homemade tortillas and hot salsa chicken.  I seriously NEED to learn how to make chicken all tender, spicy and salsa like THIS. I had TWO tacos and may have stole a triangle of The Husband’s cheesy quesadilla.  Tacos just might be the BEST invention EVER – I cannot ever get enough.

We worked and worked and worked.  On the way home we decided it was cereal or take out.  I was totally craving vegetables so we agreed on The Husband’s FAVORITE Steak Sandwich Place MS Tasty Burger.  I told them to cooked up any veggies they had in the back ~ AMAZING!!!!! Cabbage, bell pepper, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, pepper, soy sauce = LOVE!

Plus grilled teriyaki chicken bites (The Husband stole 1/2 of these!)

All together with white rice (they told me I was funny when I asked for brown rice) :)  Dinner totally hit the spot.  I think I could eat this every day but I am sure it tasted so good because somebody else cooked it for me lol….

Dessert!  For those curious, you can buy these at Target or Walmart super cheap.  It’s like $2-$2.50 for a BIG bag of like 30-40 mints

A super productive day, but, nothing too exciting.  I think that’s a good thing giving last weekend was all about excitement and fun.  Off to curl up with blankets, hot tea and watch The Premonition with Sandra Bullock.

Nite all!

Bribery is a powerful motivator. ANND we are doing the same here. Painting, moving furniture everything to get ready for Thanksgiving. Ok by we I mean the parents because I’m hopeless with a roller!

To make tender chicken, you might want to try cooking up some breasts in a crock pot/slower cooker, with Mexican spiced tomatoes…… um and some beer never hurt the flavor either:)

    Happy Sunday:)

    Those veggies look amazing!

You’ll have to let us know what you thought of Premonition. I actually didn’t like it…it was so weird, and the plot didn’t make sense to me!

Tacos are an amazing for sure – I’d be out of an easy meal every week if it weren’t for some variation of tacos 🙂

N.D. – I tend to shoot for 1,300-1,500 when I am trying to lose weight. I am by no means a R.D. or anything of the sort, but I would imagine that your activity level plus nursing would require you to consume more calories at least 1,600 and still lose. I think the key is really to listen to your body and your hunger signals. If you are truly hungry and you are out of your calories for the day, I definitely think you should eat a healthy snack. I hope that helps a little,

Jenny and Emily ~ I just posted my thoughts today. I think the movie was sorta freaky and I didn’t like how it ended at all. I don’t like to mess with that kinda stuff.
