Sometimes I cannot think of a better way to start my day than with pictures of the AMAZING Corn Husk Man and reading all your comments ~ You all seriously kept me laughing all day with your comments.
I realized today that sometimes you can get so busy and caught up in life that you forget about what is really important to you ~ Like the goals you made!
Sometimes it takes a simple conversation to remind you that you are stressing out way too much and should think about meditating or doing yoga….
Feb – Yoga Month ~ find balance each day with 29 days of Yoga. Plus 5+ fruits/veggies every day ~ focus on the FREE things I can eat!

Sometimes you just REALLY NEED a Dirty Latte to make a rainy day better…….(4 points+)
And sometimes it’s ok to just eat Sour Dough Bread with Whipped Butter (5 points+)
Especially when you balance them out with a big pile of fruit ~ banana, strawberries, blueberries and grapes.
Sometimes you don’t have to ALWAYS eat something fancy or be creative….you can be simple and eat what you crave. Everyone will still LOVE the pictures all the same
Sometimes it’s more FUN to participate IN the Holiday FUN since it only comes around once a year than to think you “missed out” (3 points+)
But, more importantly, sometimes it’s OK to LIVE a little and eat with your co-workers while cleaning and packing up for the big office move. At least I had salad to start ( 3 points+)
Sometimes there is just nothing as good as a HUGE piece of loaded vegetable pizza with all those mushrooms….and sometimes it’s ok to go back for another 1/2 a piece simply because your mouth not your stomach wanted it (10 points+)
Sometimes you have weeks where you just can’t do it ~ you have no motivation to cook, nothing sounds good and all you want to do is have someone else do all the work for you.
Sometimes it is totally worth it to accept The Husband’s “Hot” Date Invite because it’s going to include crunchy tacos from Vasquez and he knows just what you need.
Sometimes there is nothing like a Spicy Crunchy Chicken Taco to make everything seem right again (5 points+)
Sometimes you meet the MOST AMAZING people through blogging who become your great friends and they know just how to make you smile by sporting a Danica’s Daily Tee and then sending a fun picture! (Sami ~ I LOVE your phone cover!!)

Q’s
What is one thing you do when you are in a creative cooking or food rut?
Typically for me, it takes looking at new recipes online, in magazines or cookbooks to get my creative juices flowing. I definitely need variety and new things, but, sometimes, it helps to just eat simple and take a break for a day or two. Usually I can’t wait to get back in the kitchen.
Night all!

Looking at recipes or blogs always helps. This has been one of those “please don’t make me cook” weeks for me, too. Totally understand. I think it’s because our kitchen is pretty cold and I just don’t wanna be in there.

Tacos and pizza… my kinda day right there! 😉
Monica says
I loved your day because ‘sometimes’ those of us with food issues feel exactly like that and need to know it’s okay. Hearing it from someone you look to for inspiration made it especially encouraging. So thank you for being totally honest and sharing with us.
When I’m in a food rut, I look to the WeightWatchers website and your blog for interesting recipes.

Like you, sometimes just having a new recipe to try and all the ingredients on hand is just enough. Like Maria and Monica, sometimes just reading your blog and looking at some of those amazing photos inspires me. And, like you, sometimes is just great to have someone to ‘lean on’ like the hubby to ease you past a rut and back to your old self.
My latest ‘push’ has come from putting together a full week of dinner ideas, making a matching grocery list…printing it out and just ‘doing it’. I’ve been looking forward everyday to coming home to try something new.
Thanks for all you do, Danica! Love reading your blog!!

Looks like a yummy day to me, Danica! Food rut or not!
When I need to get my creative cooking mojo going I usually look through the mountainous piles of recipes that I have accumulated! It often sparks my creativity, although sometimes it does make me a little overwhelmed because I find TOO many things I want to make!

You are exactly right. It’s ok to not be perfect all the time. In my mind, as long as I track it and am honest about it, I am still in control of what I am eating. I had one of those weeks last week, but I rebounded this week and am doing better.
Love your blog and thanks for your honesty!

I am soooooooo doing the yoga month with you, D !! It has helped me so much in the past and I know I need it so badly right now and yet it took your little comment to realize I need to actually DO IT now. Namaste 🙂

See? That’s why your blog is the best out there. You should get paid by WW. LOL. You are so real and we can all relate!!!
When I don’t want to think very hard about what to eat or am in a rut, I fill a whole wheat tortilla with brocolli or other veggies, salsa, chicken bits, grated cheese, onion (anything I see in the fridge, really) …and fold it up, zap it for 50 seconds …When it is done, add a little plain yogurt and pretend it’s sour cream. Very tasty, easy and it is different every time.
AJ says
Oooh, oooh, and add some avocado when I add the cool “sour cream” inside.

I don’t believe you could have said it better. There are just SOMETIMES we need to “Just Do It”. It is alright to stumble a bit and lose track but there are so many people willing to help you get back to where you were heading.
mary (what's cookin' with mary) says
I start reading blogs :0)

First off, that pizza looked amazing! I check out the recipe swap on WW on-line to see if there is anything new and interesting. I also get a couple of daily recipe e-mails in my box every day and there’s usually something that looks interesting to try. I wish I had your motivation to do the yoga (I have the Wii Fit Plus .. but I’m just not coordinated and limber enough to do the poses. lol!). Good luck with your goal!
Runeatrepeat says
I love pizza, always have, always will. Glad you enjoyed it with your peeps 🙂
Roz says
What a nice post. I love how you balance your good and “less that weight watchers friendly” choices. (I refuse to say any food is “bad” – Moderation yes, deprivation, no.) Don’t think I’ll be able to do yoga every day, but I’m going twice a week to a class now….so I’ll join you on those days. 🙂 Have a great day Danica.
