Happy Monday all! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the new WW Freestyle program. I love that you are all just as excited as I am about the improvements to Smartpoints. Today was officially my second day Freestyling and I have to say three things.
- I love it, really I do.
- I would’ve never believed you if you told me I’d easily be able to eat 23 Smartpoints or less and feel satisfied.
- I have been satisfied at each meal and not hungry in between so far….meaning zero snacks required.
I’ll be sharing more as the week goes on, but, as of now, I am kinda in love with WW Freestyle and my 2 SmartPoints breakfast.
2 eggs, 2 pieces of Trader Joe’s Peppered Turkey Bacon and 1/2 an orange.I totally was not feeling today’s workout but I told myself to get on the treadmill for just 10 minutes and I could stop if I wasn’t feeling it. 50 minutes later – I checked that off my list feeling proud I pushed through it.
The Husband asked me to help him today and he would buy lunch…Ok!
Surprisingly he picked Panda Express where I built one big “stir fry”.Mixed Veggies – 0 sp, Mushroom Chicken – 3 sp, Green Bean Chicken – 5 sp….all mixed together. 1 sp for my fortune cookie.
I’ve been thinking alot about these Simply Filling Turkey Meatloaf Muffins lately. Only, I wanted the version with stuffing.
I finally found a brand with real ingredients that tastes delicious so I could justify making them now.
You only need 1/2 the bag for this recipe so save the other half for your next batch. To keep the muffins moist and bulk them up, I chopped all these veggies in the food processor.
1/2 onion, 1 red bell pepper, 2 garlic cloves, 1 cup mushrooms, a little fresh thyme and cilantro (parsley works too).Add 1 egg, 1/2 cup fat free milk, 1 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper & crushed red pepper flakes.
Stir it all together.Divide into 12 triangles to keep equal portions.Form into meatloaf muffins and place into a muffin pan that is sprayed with nonstick spray.Let your big kid decorate with ketchup squiggles and bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes or until browned on top and cooked through.I started with one served up with butternut squash fries and salad tossed in a homemade Apple Cider Vinaigrette.
I love these 3 Smartpoint muffins! They are super moist, packed with herbed stuffing flavors and sweet ketchup. I definitely went back for another.
All together dinner came in at 10 Smartpoints.19 Daily Freestyle SP with 4 Rollovers, 12K+ steps
The crazy part is I’m so satisfied I do not see a need as of now to use my 4 remaining points. Awesome.
How was your day?
Night all!

I also started “freesyling” this week and couldn’t be happier! No deprivation at all and no stressing over points. Definitely more filling. Can’t wait to try these meat loaf muffins!

Any pointers for getting steps in? I sit at a desk all day and never seem to get them in!
DanicasDaily says
Hi Chogg,
I try walking whenever I can. Walk to talk to your coworker versus email. Park further and take the stairs if you have them. If you get a break, go for a walk even if only for 10-15 minutes. You could also try walking before or after work by thinking about it like this. Walk out your door and walk 15 minutes. Turn around and walk home 15 minutes back. Tadah 30 minutes down.
Hope that helps a bit,
Danica

What to do with the leftovers? Freeze? Or freeze UnCooked? Any thoughts? Too many for just us two. Thx.
DanicasDaily says
Hi Catey,
I individually wrapped the cooked muffins in Saran wrap and freeze them all in a big Ziploc. I have also frozen them in Ziploc bags of two. They make for perfect grab and go lunches or snacks when you need something quick.
Thanks for asking,
Danica

I’ve read this over several times and I don’t see the amount of ground turkey that is needed for the recipe. Is it 1 lb?
DanicasDaily says
Yes, it is 1 lb.
Thanks for asking,
Danica

Thank you for responding so quickly. The recipe for Simply Filling turkey meatloaf muffins calls for 1.25 pounds of ground turkey. I appreciate you confirming that this recipe calls for just 1 pound, that is a big difference.
