Weekend Food Highlights & My Weekly Menu

August 7, 2011 by DanicasDaily 8 Comments

Happy Sunday all!  Thanks for all the nice comments on the 1 points+ Cinnamon Glazed Donut Holes and the Coffee!  I have to admit, I might be “slightly” addicted to that Godiva Coffee at the moment.

Since The Husband is anxiously waiting for me to be done blogging tonight, I am just posting a few “highlights” of my favorite eats from this weekend along with our Weekly Menu.

ICED GODIVA COFFEES!!! Daily, sometimes twice a day

IMG_5501

This is what happens when The Husband goes to the Farmer’s Market with me….Yup, he is all about “SAFETY FIRST”.

IMG_5483

Speaking of Farmer’s Market Fruit…..nothing beats how sweet it is!

IMG_5463

2 NEW PRODUCT FINDS!

IMG_5502

The first ~ Trader Joe’s Sea Salt & Black Pepper Rice Crisps ~ My Weight Watcher leader mentioned getting these when she tried the Egg White Salads you all know I am addicted too.

I think she might be “slightly” addicted too ~ it’s SO GOOD!

IMG_5508

PLENTY of chips on the shelf…..No Egg Salad though Winking smile

38 crisps for ONLY 3 points+!!!

IMG_5507

Trader Joe’s Caramelized Onion Dip!!!

IMG_5503

Now keep in mind, you could “technically” make your own using 0% Greek Yogurt and your favorite onion soup mix and get a 1/2 cup for 1 points+

IMG_5505

But, sometimes, it is nice to have something already made up and ready to go at 1 points+ per Tablespoon.

IMG_5504

If you are a POTATO CHIP & ONION DIP person ~ try this!  Totally satisfying….you can really taste the caramelized onions and it goes so well with the crunchy, peppery “chips”.

This entire bowl is 5 points+ and I got to eat chips & dip with everyone else!

IMG_5510

We went to the BIGGEST Antique Faire in Alameda that we have ever been too.  It literally took over 5 hours to walk through all of it ~ hello Activity Points!

It totally makes snacking on a little Kettle Korn (3 cups = 5 points+) worth it!

IMG_5519

Spending over TWO hours in Traffic just so we could go back to Boudin for Soup & Salad!

Rustic Tomato Soup in a Sour Dough Bread Bowl

16 Points+ if you can managed to eat the entire bowl too (I hate 1/3 of it).

IMG_5533

Spring Greens Salad

14 points+ but only 7 if you share ~ this salad is huge, but, I LOVE the salty cheese, cinnamon glazed nuts, cranberries and apples with the balsamic.

IMG_5530

Oh…there might’ve been another Biscoff Latte in there too Winking smile

THANK YOUUU!! I was inspired to try La Tortilla Factory tortillas from reading your blogs :o) UH-mazing!! My boo and I made baked tilapia fish tacos today with the tortillas and they are fantastic. I’ve been craving Thanksgiving flavors so my weeks menu is focused on that.
-Roasted butternut squash and fresh spinach salad with cranberries, warm cider vinagrette
-Sage quinoa w/ roasted squash and wilted kale
-Chicken Tortila soup to round out the week.
Ps- will be picking up some of this fantastic egg salad to try on wednesday. Any advice for vegan “cheese” from your week long vegan ventures? Thanks for all the great suggestions.

You would think me moving way closer to Trader Joe’s would mean I would go there more, quite the opposite, i haven’t been in a few months…must change that!!!!

I just picked up those chips yesterday! I haven’t tried them yet. I did have some of that onion dip in the fridge too…but saddly, it’s all gone 🙁 I might have to whip up some greek yogurt/onion soup dip, like you mentioned, to enjoy with my chips!

I also got 4 packages of peppered turkey bacon! haha

I’m making a banana cream pie for my dad’s birthday tomorrow, and I’ve also got a “confetti chili” on the menu!

I had some of that caramelized onion dip the other day at a bbq, it is sooo good. I could have eaten the entire container by myself!

    HI Priscilla,

Veggie Shreds makes a vegan cheese that you can use. I know others who use nutritional yeast in place of cheese, but, I am not a fan of it. Hope that helps a bit ~ good luck!
