Happy Wednesday all! I LOVED hearing what you all ALWAYS carry on you no matter what on my last post.. I actually think the most interesting one for me was GUM. I always have it in my purse, but, I don’t grab it when I am heading out the door. Maybe I should instead of grabbing snacks!
Breakfast was a banana peanut bagel-wich made up and eaten on the go (6 points+).
I was really undecided about what I wanted to do for my workout today ~ I wasn’t feeling the elliptical, treadmill or the weight machines.
Instead, I decided to go do this Kettle Bell workout finishing with a 1 minute plank hold.
Post workout snack (2 hours later) ~ Some days you just NEED Dark Chocolate Sea Salted Caramels with your coffee (2 points+)
My lunch for today, tomorrow and maybe a day next week might include some packages that I have to collect as part of a “Sustainability Game” we are going to play at work for recycling and composting.
Today’s packaging was Trader Joe’s Spinach Lasagna.
I actually LOVE this lasagna because they use REAL FULL FAT cheese and I think that is what makes it taste like homemade.
Served up with the last of my grab n go salad topped with 1 Tbsp sunflower seeds and 2 Tbsp TJ’s Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette (3 points+).
After lunch I had my FIRST ONE-ON-ONE SESSION & workout #2 with our personal trainers from Ice Chamber Gym. I LOVE the trainers our company hired because they have the ability to make you sweat your @$$ off in under 30 minutes all while helping you set goals.
FUN FACTS! Since my first check in with them on 04/20/11, I lost 3 lbs, .5% body fat and my BMI went down by .5. Considering they only come in once a week (some sessions are only learning sessions/not working out) and that is based on my own sporadic workouts, I think it’s a good thing.
HERE WAS TODAY’S GOAL SETTING SWEAT SESSION WORKOUT:
The logic of my trainers workouts is to do one strength move then one cardio move then one stationary move.
* 10 minute warm up on the treadmill
I did all of the following using a 20 LB dumbbell in 30 second intervals x’s 2
* Squat with an overhead press
* Mountain Climbers (double legs, then single legs for round 2)
* Keeping the pushup position Plank (1 legged plank for round 2)
* Lunge with a bicep curl, alternating legs
* Jumping Jacks (Squat Jacks for round 2)
* Stationary squat hold
CORE WORK ~ 30 seconds x’s 2
* Superman (laying on your stomach raising both arms & legs up)
* Stationary Superman (holding the leg/arm up position)
* Sit Ups
* Stationary Straight leg raise hold
THE END!
Train snacks while working on RECIPES!!! Did you know when you print my recipe page right now it’s 10 pages ~ fun fact (not really but it sounded good) (1 points+)
Total NSV (Non-Scale Victory!) after work. I knew The Husband was going to be late and I was starving when I walked in the door. I figured I had two options.
1. Sit on the couch and watch Food Network (most likely snacking on something I didn’t need to).
2. Distract myself by getting a few things checked off my list and running errands.
I opted for #2 and it worked! I didn’t eat anything I didn’t NEED to and by the time I walked in the door, we were both ready for dinner.
SIMPLE, DELICIOUS BLTA’S!
Layered with GOOD tomatoes and greens from the Farmer’s Market.
And 2 thick slices of crispy, uncured applewood smoked bacon!
Nom, nom, nom……(9 points+)
We both snacked on veggies and ranch while dinner cooked and during dinner….nope, totally didn’t make a pretty plate ~ I was too busy crunching away (3 points+)
Dessert involved these new Newton’s Fruit Thins sent to us from the peeps over at Foodbuzz as part of the Tastemaker Program.
I am proud of them for having REAL ingredients that I can pronounce!
4 points+ for 3 cookies.
The cookies are a nice size and you can definitely get chunks of dried fruit in each one. They reminded me of a Graham Cracker that tastes like golden grams. I had 1 for 1 points+.

Q’s
What is one NSV (Non-Scale Victory) you have had this week? You could also list one positive thing that has made you happy this week too!
Night all!
Yum where do you get those caramels, they look delicious!!! That BLTA also looks absolutely heavenly.. I see one of those in my dinner plan VERY SOON!
Wow, you are strong girl! 20# dumbell overhead press is a lot of weight! Go, you!
My NSV – I pulled out the Shred which I haven’t done in a year and was able to make it through the whole workout w/o stopping! I remember when I first tried it last year, I thought I was going to die! LOL!
MY NSV – take my belt in one more loop! ^_^ Another positive thing would be sending back a pair of shorts I ordered due to them being too big!
My NSV: I haven’t taken an elevator in a month! I work on the 4th floor and take the stairs every single time.
My NSV – my husband and I went to a bbq at his friend’s house over the weekend. The last (and only other) time I saw him and his wife was 1 month before I joined WW. His friend’s wife actually thought my husband got remarried -she had no idea that I was the same person! Luckily I had a picture from our last visit to prove it to her. That felt really good (and was kind of funny).
I LOVE PB and banana sandwiches! Go you on getting the errands done instead of noshing in front of the Food Network (though that is a hard thing to pull yourself away from.)
My NSV yesterday: One of my coworkers came in the office yesterday for one of the first times in nearly two months, and when she saw me, she said that I looked like I’ve lost a lot of weight since I last saw her. I told her that actually, the scale hadn’t budged until yesterday, that I’d been the same weight the whole time. She said that I look like I’ve lost more weight in the past two months than I have all year and that it just goes to show that the scale never tells the whole story. 🙂 That there made my week.
That sea salt caramel is calling my name. Okay, so you motivated me to go do my work out…..I’m off to it. Miss you and wish I was back at BlogHer Food.
My NSV this week:
I’ve already earned 24 activity points and by Saturday afternoon, I will have earned 47 activity points (which will hopefully become a SV – I’m .8 away from making goal!).
My other victory (which is kind of a drag, but a nice problem to have) is that I cannot wear ANY pants in my closet unless they have elastic waistbands… seriously. Everything is FALLING OFF OF ME!!! I am limited to yoga pants and leggings (even my leggings are slipping down). I’ve lost just over 30 lbs and am down 2 or 3 sizes. YAY!!! However, not really in a position to go clothes shopping at this point.
I treated myself to a pedicure yesterday to celebrate the 30# loss! Pretty pink toes 🙂
Oh, and that BLT (modified a bit for me) may just be my dinner tonight.
My NSV was heading out for a 3 mi walk instead of staying on the couch. DH worked late and DD was gone, so no one would have known which one I chose.
My NSV this week… I dragged my bike out of storage last night and went for a ride. I <3 riding my bike!
NSV = waking up every morning this week! ha ha ha.
Thing that has made me happy this week = I feel like my life is falling into place a little bit… or I am at least on the RIGHT track! 🙂

The scale hasn’t been moving like I feel it should, (although I’m currently nursing, and my weight can REALLY fluctuate throughout the day because of it) but I’m still pleased woth myself because I’m eating well, tracking everythings (even those stupid BLTs) and exercising on my stationary bike several times a week. My legs feel stronger, my pants are looser (I can get them down without unbuttoning!) and my ankles are looking athletic. I know that one sounds random, but I used to have cankles, and always admired cute ankles. Now my ankles are cute! I just wish they weren’t attached to HUGE feet. I’d love to show them off in cute little running sneakers, not the big old men’s sneakers I need to wear. lol. oh well…
=-)
I walked 1.8 km to the grocery store today. I’m on vacation and was going to a ww meeting close to my house. I thought I might take the bus back but I walked back home too ( with a new toaster!)
My NSV was finally working out with my trainer again and actually hiking the Grand Canyon on Sunday (NSV for last week lol) from rim to rim. That was 20+ miles and I did it in 11 hours and 10 minutes. I was so proud of myself. 2 years ago I would have never done something like this. It’s amazing how much I can accomplish these days with the weight gone. I’m now gonna train for a half marathon that will take place in January. I can’t wait to mark something else off my list. I’m still amazed that I accomplished such a big feat.
