Hi all! How was your weekend? This week’s meeting is the meeting where Weight Watchers unveils their new 2019 WWFreestyle Program materials and any changes they are making. The good news is that nothing is changing as I mentioned back in October and Smartpoints remain the same. I secretly hoped the Zero Point food list would expand but it has not. You can read all about the detailed 2018 Weight Watchers Smartpoints changes in this post (click here) and the 2019 WW updates in this post (click here).
The 2019 Weight Watchers handouts are very simplified as they encourage everyone to embrace the materials online.
Here are the handouts they provide and the highlights:All members will now only get the Welcome to WW Book, a new Weigh In book and a Tracker if you choose to track on paper versus online.
The first thing they encourage you to do is download the WW app. Then there is a brief highlight of the program and how to use the app on your phone. They also will be sending new members 4 special emails as they ramp up the program.I like that they still cover all the topics as they did in last year’s books, just on one page each.
My favorite two sections are the tips on how to use Zero Point foods. And the menu ideas which refer you to the recipes online. Now the Pocket Guide you only receive if you request it.I defintely think it’s worth asking for even if there isn’t much to it.
They have removed the alphabetical food list and replaced it with the top 100 tracked foods. They give you an idea of how many Fit Points are earned based on each activity. However, the coolest thing is probably the pull out good up Zero Point list. That’s about it for the updates this year. I think all the press and focus on the WW rebranding in October caused them to downplay anytype of big roll out this year (just my opinion).
I look forward to the app and online improvements they are making. I know I am personally glad they added Connect Groups (like they used to have in Forums) as my OCD self needs organization! Searching #hashtags wasn’t doing it for me.
The other awesome news of the weekend, we are 90% finished with our Christmas shopping and gift wrapping!
Today we took The Husband’s mom to the Sacramento Antique Faire and lunch. Before heading out I cooked a Sandwich Bros Turkey Sausage Egg White Flat Bread (4 sp) and 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds. We also grabbed Tall nonfat cappuccino’s for the drive out of town (2 sp). They picked Buckhorn Grill for lunch. I ordered the Cabo Chopped Salad without blue cheese and with chicken and the basil lime dressing on the side. I skipped eating the shell (6 sp).
Romaine, corn, black beans, radishes, jicama, avocado, tomatoes, chicken – delicious! After our afternoon wrapping frenzy, I snacked on almond butter banana chips. (3 sp)I whipped up a new Lentil & Sausage Soup for dinner that totally hit the spot. This soup is packed with flavor from the spicy Italian sausage, smoky fire roasted tomatoes, protein packed lentils, veggies and fresh herbs.
Recipe coming up soon!I had this bowl plus another cup for 3 WWFreestyle Smartpoints.18 Daily WWFreestyle Smartpoints, 10K steps

Hey I just joined WW for the second time and I wanted to know if my 2016 Shopping Guide that shows the points for food could still be used. I am having a hard time get information on the Free Style program, I do better if I have the material in front of me to read. Please could you let me know if can use my old book and where I can get more information to help me do this right and when I eat out. Thanks
