It’s FINALLY Friday! That is what I woke up thinking this morning….well, about that and about The REAL DEAL BREAD! I am really focused on MODERATION this next week so I refrained from the bagels this morning.
Since it’s a NEW Weight Watcher’s Week ~ here is what I am focusing on:
1. Limit my carbs ~ not in the sense of going low-carb, but, if given the option, I’d have a bagel for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and pasta for dinner…oh and probably some crackers or chips for snack.
~ So, this week, my goal is to have at least Lunch or Dinner as a Salad meal and to focus on FILLING FOODS (Lean proteins, dairy, fruits and veggies).
2. MOVE MORE ~ Focus on getting in 30 minutes of activity 5 days this week. It doesn’t have to be “intense”, I just need to break a sweat (like tonight where I cleaned house!)
I was going to say limit my dining out to nothing, but, seeing as I went out for 2 meals today, I didn’t want to think I “failed” already at that one.
My Weight Watchers Meeting was honestly what I really NEEDED this morning. I was a little bummed that I was up 1.6 lbs, but, I also know better than to have things like “sushi” before a weigh (hello sodium!).
Everyone really chimed in for today’s meeting and I left feeling completely motivated.
I also left with a NEW favorite quote thanks to my AWESOME LEADER!
“If you want to have a LITTLE BEHIND, then, you NEED to leave a “Little Behind”.
I LOVE THAT!
I picked up a Venti Iced Nonfat Decaf Latte with Caramel Drizzle on top after my meeting to get in my Dairy ~ it’s a FILLING FOOD! (3 points+)
My morning flew by as I checked a million things off my todo list. I had the privilege of having lunch today with The Husband and Tracey of TJ’s Test Kitchen.
We both totally wanted a Mary’s Pizza Shack Salad….Doesn’t it look awesome?
It really was as GOOD if not better than it looks:
* Romaine Lettuce
* Freshly shredded carrots
* Tomato Slices
* Homemade Bean Salad
* Sliced Fungus (Mushrooms! )
* Beets
* Egg Slices
* 3 oz Grilled Chicken Breast
* The REAL DEAL Ranch on the side used for dipping with my fork.
10 points+ for the entire thing and we both scored MAJOR points by passing up the freshly baked sour dough bread and butter.
The Husband helped us out by eating it all ~ I am so jealous of his metabolism sometimes!
Midafternoon I had an Iced Coffee with 2 pumps coconut and a little 1/2 & 1/2 plus a BIG fruit bowl (2 points+)
The STAR of the bowl (aside from the pineapple!) was this PLURINE ~ it’s a cross between a pear & nectarine. I usually cannot wait each year for the Farmer’s Markets to get these.
Super Sweet, yet, crispy & crunchy like a pear.
I knew we were having a late dinner so when my stomach started growling about 3 hours later, I pulled out a single serving Annie’s Organic Cheddar Snack Mix & a Trader Joe’s Lite String Cheese (1 points+).
100% REAL
4 points+ for the entire bag.
Cheesy, salty, crunchy and it’s totally fun to eat bunny and carrot shapes!
Dinner tonight was at Chipotle. I pondered my usual Chicken Salad bowl, but, when, they told me they were out of Guacamole, I went with 3 Crunchy Chicken Tacos.
I use Chipotle Fan to calculate the points+ by picking what I stuffed in my shells ~ each taco comes out to be 4 points+.
* 3 crunchy corn taco shells (you can order soft corn or flour, but, why would you?!)
* The BEST Grilled Chicken
* Red HOT Sauce
* Pico de Gallo
* Corn Salsa
* 1/2 a sprinkle of cheese
Crunchy, salty, spicy ~ good…now, if I only had that guac too
NEW AT FRIENDS FOR WEIGHT LOSS
* MOVE MORE ~ Check out this AWESOME 100 Workout from Marisa of Loser For Life!
Last chance to enter to Win Annie’s NEW Organic Snack Mixes ~ Winners picked tomorrow!
Q’s
What is your FAVORITE thing to order at Chipotle? If you don’t have a Chipotle, what do you want to order?
I have to say I’ll eat anything and everything there if it comes with their guacamole. It’s honestly the BEST guacamole. I LOVE the crunch tacos, but, hope to one day try the soft corn. If it’s not tacos, it’s a burrito bowl, a.k.a. salad…oh and it’s ALWAYS chicken for some reason.
Night all!
No worries about the scale, Danica! You’re doing great!
I’m with you on choosing carbs for breakfast, lunch and dinner! And snacks! Love them!!! I try to limit myself, too. If I have bread-type products for breakfast and lunch, then I skip it for dinner.
You have a great goals for this next week! It’s wonderful when life hands you just what you need right when you need it, like a motivating WW meeting!
I too love bread but I have to limit myself because even when I have the healthy whole wheat kind it can get in the way of my weight loss or maintenance! Ugh!
I have never had a plurine but I am going to look for those at my Farmers Mkt!
Have an awesome weekend!
My body was so tired yesterday, but I knew I wanted to geta ‘sweat’ in… so I cleaned house too! I put on my HR monitor like a huge dork so I could make sur eI was moving fast enough LOL
I’ve never been to Chipotle ?! I need to go !!
Whatever I get from Chipotle, usually a vegetarian bowl, it has to have the guacamole. It is delicious. . . . good luck with your WW goals this week.
hey there-
I have been reading your blog for awhile and I was curious how you calculate point for your starbucks? When I calculate the points for a venti nonfat iced latte it is 5 points.
have a great weekend.
heidi
I just found out there is a Chipotle near my little town , I am really wanting to go.I know I will get the crunch chicken tacos when I go. Hope your weekend is great!
I love Chipotle. My favorite is the Barbacoa burrito but I usually end up getting the Chicken burrito which sometimes DH and I share. We also have to get a bag of chips with their yummy guacamole! We really need a Chipotle closer to us, the closest one is about 25 minutes from here which is probably a good thing; otherwise, we’d be there everyday. Have a good weekend!!
My most fave thing ever is the Chicken Burrito Bowl…LOVE IT! I love Chipotle’s hot sauce…think I could just drink the stuff! Luckily for me, there’s not a Chipotle too close to me…about 30 minutes in either direction…and I can get to one…so it’s always a welcome treat!
You are doing great….and always, I look forward to your pics!!!
Have a great weekend!!!
In regards to your #1. Me too. I could eat carbs all day long, so I have to limit mine too, which is not the same as a “LOW carb” diet.
It was great to meet you earlier this month. I am just getting around to posting about the Fitbloggin’ World Meetup Day. Your talk was wonderful. Thanks again. (I hope you are a believer in the “better late than never” . . . 🙂
When I go to Chipotle I almost always get a salad with black beans, corn salsa, & a boatload of guac!
Hi Heidi,
I calculate my Venti Iced Non-fat Decaf Lattes using the Starbuck’s website.
http://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/espresso/iced-caffe-latte?foodZone=9999#size=144648&milk=61
You can pick the type of drink, size, iced/hot, etc. You definitely save on points+ when you get it iced because there is less milk.
The stats for my drink are 130 cal, 0 g fat, 19 carbs, 12 protein, 0 fiber
The caramel drizzle calculates to 0 points+
10 cal, 0 g fat, 2 carbs, 1 prot, 0 fiber
Hopefully that helps a bit.
Thanks,
Danica
I order the chicken bowl with only salsa on top! muah
