Not just any Ambassador, but, a Keurig K-Cup Ambassador. I have ALWAYS wanted to be an Ambassador of something….I mean, who wouldn’t love having a cool title like that! It is sort of hard to hide my ever so “slight” coffee addiction so I think it is totally appropriate to be an Ambassador of one of my favorite things in the world ~ freshly brewed, delicious, hot or iced coffee.
I am so excited that I can finally tell you all about it, but, I do have to say, the best part is yet to come. For the next year I will have the chance to tell you all which flavors of Keurig Coffee I like best and…..drumroll please…..
I will also be hosting some incredibly fun giveaways and of course giving you all coupons and more coupons that you all can use to buy all the Keurig products you want.
Like their brand new spill proof Keurig® travel mug with Contigo AUTOSEAL™ Technology that will be unveiled this September.
Contigo is honestly the best mug I’ve ever owned ~ they are so incredibly durable that they do not spill even when you drop them on the pavement on your way out the door. Just sayin’
There are currently over 200 flavors out there so in theory you can try one new flavor each day to take you into the New Year!
Fun right?! I will give you all more details as I begin my Ambassadorship. If you have any questions about the program or want to check out all the cool Keurig products I will be sharing with you, you can go to the Keurig website, find Keurig on Facebook or Twitter.
I will keep my Keurig K-Cup Ambassador Badge up on the right side of my site all year to give you all a quick link to access all the Keurig K-Cup products I share with you.
This morning didn’t quite go as planned. I actually had planned on having cereal with fruit, but, ran out of time ended up with just a banana and an Iced Coffee on the go.
I had meetings all morning so I couldn’t wait to dig into lunch as soon as I got back to my desk.
Harvest Grain Salad! I love this salad and could probably eat it every day.
Rainbow salad topped with 1 tsp sunflower seeds and 1 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette. Yup, I totally checked to see that 1 tsp = 0 points+. (1 WPA for the dressing)
Dessert!
Mid afternoon I actually had a reason for going down to the Café to go to the ATM, but, I go so distracted by getting a Latte that I forgot that part lol.
Late afternoon snack ~ Sargento Reduced Fat Colby Cheese & a nectarine.
We ended up trading in our Carne Asada tacos tonight for Panera’s You Pick Two.
I started off with French Onion Soup. It is totally worth it to me to use my WPA on their homemade buttery, sour dough croutons. You could skip them and the cheese to make this soup 100% Simply Filling. (2 WPA)
BBQ Chicken Salad without dressing and with BBQ sauce on the side for dressing.
Picking an apple for your side would be the Simply Filling choice, but, I LOVE their Multi-Grain Baguette bread too much to pass it up. It’s chewy, doughy, nutty and delicious. (I had 1/2 for 3 WPA)
You can see yesterday’s total now.
STATS (12 am – 10 pm):
- 2,243 calories burned
- 4,676 steps taken
- 6 WPA used, 20 WPA remaining (28 daily points+)
A GNORMOUS thanks to the folks at Keurig and Green Mountain for selecting me as a K-Cup Ambassador and for providing me with a Keurig Brewing System with K-Cups to review..
Night all!

Oooh, congrats!! I’ve been a Keurig user for about 18-19 months now and *love* it!! I have the Platinum (B70) model and it rocks! To keep it running best, be sure to descale it on a regular basis.

OMGOSH
seriously? YOURE MY HEROINE.

You are sooo lucky. I love mine and Keurig has the best customer service. Dark Magic is my very favorite coffee. Enjoy!!
Christine says
Love my Keurig and love your blog!! I look forward to your posts everyday and you have really inspired me to start back on WW with the Simply Filling plan. Thanks!
Adrianne says
Ooooh! I’m a Keurig addict and can’t live without my brewer. Thanks for posting a pic of the Contigo mug too. I read a blurb in a magazine about it but there was no picture. I’d never heard of it but it had rave reviews. I need to look into one. I’m completely jealous of your ambassador-ship! 🙂
Pam says
Love my Keurig and all of the wonderful flavors!!! Donut Shop with Coconut is amazing!!!
Carbzilla says
Yay! We love our Keurig so much!
And I bet if you add it up, you’re going to save a bundle of money that would have gone to the ‘Bucks. Have fun !

Congrats, Ambassador!!
You’re so right about the contigo mugs. I bought 2 from QVC. They are great!!
Day 7 on simply filling. I weigh in tonight. Wish me luck. 🙂

I may be the only one who will voice a big negative for Keurig. We have had our Platinum Keurig for about two months and have tried really hard to fall in love with it, but it isn’t working. Being able to fix just a single cup of coffee is the only positive comment I can make for the Keurig. The individual K cups are expensive (could be $1 or more per K cup depending on the brand). With two people in the house drinking coffee, using the individual K cups every day becomes really expensive. My husband and I only use the individual K cups as a “treat” not on an everyday basis. Because of the cost factor, we switched to the paper filters I found at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I’ll be interested in following your journey with Keurig but something tells me that being the “ambassador” shade your comments.
carol says
I totally agree with Peggy. It is too expensive a machine and coffee product for anyone who loves coffee (meaning drinking more than 1-2 cups daily). I have no problem making one cup at a time with my coffee maker.
monique says
Have you heard of the My K Cup piece? You use it to make your own Kcup with your own coffee. I found this to be economical.
Becky says
I have a Solofill filter that I use to make coffee most of the time in my Keuring – it allows me to use the coffee i buy on my travels. They are $15 from Bed, Bath & beyond, and just replace a K-cup. No need to remove any part of your machine. I highly recommend one (and BB&B often have 20% off coupons!).
I have made some yummy iced coffees too, love my Keurig.
Only thing i don’t use it for is tea, tea needs to be made with BOILING water, and this doesn’t do that. As a brit my tea has to be right 🙂
suzanne says
Congratulations on becoming an ambassador!!
We bought the special edition Keurig for Christmas and we have used it every day since. We love it. In fact the hubs says that if it ever stops working we’ll be out that day to buy another one.
For the commenter above me they do have re-usable k-pod cups that you can use your own coffee in which would help with the cost.
Denise P. says
That cup looks super cool. I lust after a Keurig often, but I’m not a big coffee drinker so I can’t really justify spending the money for a tea and hot cocoa machine at the moment. Haha But actually I’d probably get easily hooked on iced coffee.
Diane says
Wanted to purchase a Keurig for my husband for Christmas, but alas the cost was a tad too expensive at the time. Hope to purchase one in the future for hubby….but I am a tea drinker and am intrigued by all the choices you have. Even at $1 a cup, it is cheaper than getting coffee at the local gas station! Good luck on being Ambassador for the year. Have lots of fun with it……
Connie says
Ambassador Danica…has a nice ring to it!!! lol Congratulations, very cool.
Kathy says
Here is my 2 cents. I bought my husband a Keurig couple Christmas’ ago. I am (wasn’t) a coffee drinker. He loves it but has retired since and drinks 4-5 cups per day. Therefore I use my Younker’s coupons and Kohl’s 30% off Q’s to buy coffee and if you can get them for 50 cents or under each that is the best you can do. Sam’s Club sells a box of about 90 for around $40 but they have to be the same flavor which is okay with him. I have never liked the taste of coffee or anything that tastes like coffee! However I tried the Island Coconut and was hooked as it doesn’t have “that coffee taste.” Then I tried the Butter Toffee and loved that also. I do use a little sweetener and liquid creamer. The Almond Joy is great with the Island Coconut!!! I also ordered the “Pecan Torte) from Gevalie as I got the coffee pot and 4 bags of coffee for $10. Love that flavor also. I bought coffee beans from Meijer (Michigan Cherry) and also love that. Am I a “coffee” drinker? Well, flavored coffee. I now have joined in the 4-5 cups a day. I love the “K” cup that you can put your own grounds in and make an individual cup. Have had the pot (Special Edition) for almost 2 years and have had no problem with it. Just received another 30% off at Kohl’s so off to get more coffee. Sorry this is so long but I am very excited that I found the flavors!!!!!
Kathy says
P.S. I am headed to “QVC” to check out the contigo cup!!!
Allie says
Congrats, Ambassador! I love my Keurig Coffee Maker. Just wish they made more flavored decafs in the k cups.. Hmmm, maybe as Ambassador you could pass that on to them?
Angie says
Whoo hoo! Love me some Keurig. We are on our 2nd machine and have bought my stepson one too. We can’t get enough Keurig coffee (please save the Island Coconut limited edition ha ha). We spend so much money on it so I hope to get some coupons from you, that would be really cool.
That cup looks awesome and something Kev would definitely use for his work travels.
Julie says
That is great! I’ve been quietly considering a Keurig coffee maker (more for the specialty flavors and options than straight up coffee) so I’m really curious to read your reviews.
Kathy says
P.S.S. You can buy any ground coffee (reg/decaf) and grind it yourself or already ground and use the K-cup if you need more flavors. Also wanted to say we love it so much we are taking it on vacation next week to the cottage we have rented. I’m with you Angie, love the island coconut!!!
Daniela says
We’ve had the Keurig since it came out & love it!! It’s been giving me problems lately though and I bought the new Vue. Haven’t opened it yet but am excited to try it out!! As for flavors……I LOVE the Green Mountain French Toast!!! Mix it with the Cinnabon creamer and OMG, delicious!
That HArvest Grain salad is awesome too!!! I didnt have the sun-dried tomatoes or artichokes so I added some sauteed onions and peppers 🙂
Pat says
Love our Keurig too. We are also on machine number two. I have a question. When I make mine own coffee with the K filter, my coffee seems too weak. Is there a secret to it? A particular grind? I use Starbucks blonde and have even tried the paper filters that fit in the cup in hopes of slowing down the brew process. Any suggestions would be great. Our Keurig doesn’t always measure the amount of water right, but I have been able to deal with it. It may take two or three pushes of the brew button to get to a 12 oz cup, but it gets there. I still love it and will be in the market for a new one soon.
Jamie says
I LOVE my keurig…his name is Bob….Bob Keurig…lol..I use the k-cup and buy the different coffees I love to use in it. I am a sucker for iced coffee and guzzle that in the mornings. 🙂
Yvette says
I hear the passion!! I am a Keurig junkie.( I only have 2 cups a day),But, I no longer depend on line ups, and Tim Hortons(Star bucks if it was closer).
Danica, you will love Jamaican Me Crazy, as it is a “bit” coco-nutty coffee.
The options are endless. Have fun!
janetha says
yay for contigo 🙂 that’s awesome you are an ambassador! i love my keurig!
Jeanne says
Congrats at being chosen! But I do have to add my two cents about Keurig’s environmental impact: Last year alone, over 1.6 billion (yes, billion!) cups were used. By one calculation, that this is enough K-cups to circle the earth one and a quarter times. And they all go into landfills after their seconds of use and stay there for hundreds or thousands of years. So I am NOT a fan. We americans just can not seem to understand the enormous impact on the planet of our desire for speed and convenience over everything else. Is it really that hard to use a french press if you want only one cup of coffee? Sorry, I will not buy Keurig until they deal w/ this issue.
(BTW, love your blog!)
cheers!
LaKendra says
Ooooh! I might be a tad jealous, Danica! 🙂 Congratulations on Keurig Ambassadorship! LOOOOOVE, LOOOOVE, LOOOOVE my Keurig…and I’ve got the receipts for three of them to prove that (one for home, one for parents, one for office)! Unfortunately, the first one (my home) gave up the ghost a couple months ago, so my work one has come home for the summer. Come September, I might have a 4th receipt to prove my love of all things Keurig…sigh…ah, the sighs of an addicted one!
To the ones who commented on the cost of the Keurig and the coffee…you speak truth…It is indeed a major investment (and don’t I know that!). BUT I must say I have been a better of steward of my resources when it comes to coffee. I was buying coffee a couple times a day and not using the 12-cup coffeemaker in my office or home. And investing in a reusable K-cup is well worth it to be able to use regularly-packaged coffee. My favorite go-to flavor is the Millstone Hazelnut…yum…Mmm, maybe I’ll buy a bag of it and use that reusable K-cup I was just raving about…lol
Gooo, Keurig! And welcome to the addiction, Danica….will be interested to see how your wonderful afternoon treats from the SB’s fare this next year!
Cathy Leibensperger says
Danica,
I’m glad that simply filling is working for you but I miss seeing the points plus value for each of the food items.
DanicasDaily says
HI Cathy,
Thanks for the feedback. Let me see if I can find a way to still list the points+ along with the SF I post.

wow….exciting. We bought a Keurig about a month ago…finally got it out and have been using it for about 4 days…love, love, love it !!! Looking forward to your updates.
cablegirl says
Does anybody have any advice on whether to leave the Keurig on all day or leave it off and just turn it on when you’re going to use it? Our’s is only a few weeks old and there’s nothing really in the book that says one way is better than the other
DanicasDaily says
HI Cable Girl,
I set the auto on/auto off on my Keurig so it turns on 5 minutes before I get up and turns off automatically 2 hours later. I do not see a reason to leave it on all day as it only takes a minute or so to warm up to brew.
Danica
LaKendra says
Cablegirl…I usually leave mine on all the time. I have had one since December 2010 and haven’t noticed any issues. For the one I kept at the office, I had that on auto-off since I wasn’t there as much as I am at home. It’s a preference thing. Whatever you decide you like, go for it!
cablegirl says
I am obsessed with this Keurig…..I keep coming home with boxes of coffee….LOL…crazy.

So one of my favorite blogs will now second as an advertising front for a huge corporation? Where are readers supposed to be excited?
mppaul2 says
Wow just found your site as I have just become a Kuerig B60 owner 1 week ago. Love the travel mug and will definitely be on the look out for it come September. Hopefully BBB will carry it and I will pick it up with 20% off as I did with the coffee maker. I am reading as many reviews as possible since some have had problems and short life spans with the machine. Well I am hoping for a long life, just as I have with the Cuisinart DC-12000 (still works fine after 7 years and counting). The coffee one cup at a time when you want it aspect is great and little to no waste from an entire pot I just love!! Again it is still new so I am not ready to give it any real rating but 1 week in and I am recommending it even at the smaller versions and other vendors (Mr Coffee, Cuisinart, etc.)
