Happy Biggest Loser Day all! You all really LOVE your salad dressings, but, honestly, I think you might just LOVE your Super Salad Containers even more after seeing your response to this week’s Super Salad Dressing Giveaway.
It really made me think ~ Are you all part of The Container Club?
I have to admit, I am a BIG fan of using containers and not just because I can be a little OCD about portioning out single servings. Honestly, it all started when I went on a mission to give up Ziploc baggies.
Then, I realized with my new job, I am going to actually be able to show you all how many different types of random containers I have LOL….gone are my days of having a fancy kitchen stocked with plates, forks and super cool spoons.
I am not sure if I will go back to keeping dishes at my desk ~ I kinda like the idea that I might just have to go shopping for FUN new containers like this one I received from my WW leader.
Containers are AWESOME not only for lugging things to work, but, they are perfect for leftovers!
Breakfast was leftovers from last night’s dinner ~ 2 Trader Joe’s Sweet Apple Chicken Sausages with 2/3 cup Southern Style Potatoes (8 points+)
They don’t have to be fancy like my Tupperware Vent n Serve above that I LOVE because it never stains, melts or leaks ~ you can put it in the freezer, fridge, microwave and dishwasher (side note!)
I totally have a cupboard full of Ziploc containers that are just as easy to toss in cut up fruit to add to any meal. They are perfect for freezer (you can toss them if you don’t remember what was in there) and for getting Thanksgiving leftovers out of the house.
Watermelon! Breakfast kept me full for 5 hours!
Several of you have asked me how I prep meals for the week. After I plan out my menu for the week, I cut up veggies, fruit and prepare anything ahead of time that I can like my FAVORITE “Slaw”.
This is the EASIEST mix you will ever make and can be eaten straight up with different dressings to make it a “slaw” or added to salads for extra crunch/texture. I also LOVE putting it in pastas, stir-fries and/or soups to bulk them up.
The BEST part is that you can prep it ahead of time and put it in one BIG CONTAINER for the week.
* 1 bag Trader Joe’s Organic Broccoli Slaw
* 1 bag Trader Joe’s Shredded Carrots
* 1/3 Red Cabbage, shredded (you can buy the pre-cut kind if you like)
I like starting my lunches with a big bowl of “slaw”.
Sometimes I add “extras” like these Spicy Peanuts and sometimes I don’t.
Plus 1 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette (2 points+ for 2 cups of slaw).
Paired with 1 1/2 cups leftover Bruschetta Pasta Salad. (5 points+)
I probably have just as many water containers as I do bowls LOL. This is my latest Sigg that I got at Whole Foods when they had a buy 1 get 1 free sale ~ I LOVE the small top for drinking and the large bottom to add ice.
Mid afternoon snack ~ An iced coffee and the Dots I won in training class (2 points+). I can totally be bribed to answer questions in class when there is candy involved
Did I mention that dinner was in a “container” too? A 100% compostable one……
Just your average delicious Chipotle Salad.
- Lettuce (0)
- Chicken (5)
- Pico de Gallo (0)
- Corn Salsa (1)
- 1/2 serving cheese (2)
- GUACAMOLE! (4)
Speaking of containers ~ have you entered to win the COOLEST Salad Container yet?

I’m a big container fan, too, Danica! I use mine to pre-portion meals and freeze them. It’s so easy to just heat and eat!
Love your slaw idea, too! Gotta make that!

I’m with marisa, I have these cool oblong containers i found at biglots that are divided and say veggies, starch, and meat with allows you to not guess the serving size. THERE awsome. I freeze meals for the week to keep me from not just grabbing something I shouldnt.

I have to go to Biglots this weekend.
Thanks for the tip!!!

I love containers and have been using a lot of them lately since I tote my breakfast and lunch to school with me. My favorites are by far my Hello Kitty tupperware I snagged in Japan. ^_^

I use Lock & Lock foursquare for both my and my son’s lunch. Love the 4 little compartments to do bento-esque lunches!

I love containers! A couple years ago, I sought out a Tupperware “lady” online so I could have a Tupperware party and score some cheap containers. My favorites are the venting ones too! I love that they don’t stain or pop all over the microwave when my husband warms them up. Other favorites are the ones that have the extendable lids so I can cut up fruit higher than the bowl and the lid will stretch over them!

huge fan of shredded carrots and broccoli, they make for lots of easy stuff. I hadn’t considered the mix of all 3

Really good eats to take with you! I like the Anchor Hocking glass containers that have plastic lids for them and I also have a huge collection of those ziplock containers in a variety of sizes and shapes.

Love love love containers! Probably my fave is a salad bowl/container that has a deep bowl (I love a BIG salad) w/ an insert that you chill beforehand to keep cut up veggies/whatnot in to add to greens later and a dressing container that slips into the sectioned piece. It all has a nice snap on lid that keeps it nice & neat. I also love my wooden utensil kit (complete w/ spoon, fork, knife, *&* chopsticks!) that goes most everywhere w/ me.
I have to admit though, I am a bit of a packrat w/ “containers”. I can’t throw out even the yogurt containers I get & I reuse them all…. but, I do tend to bring goodies to other people’s houses in those and then I can leave them behind more easily. 🙂

I *love* containers! The cuter, the better. I love bento boxes too, but they’re just so expensive and most I’ve seen are not dishwasher safe (forget that!!).
I’m with you, my Rock n’ Serve Tupperware containers are my favorites! I use the Ziploc bowls for my salad and cut up fruits.

I LOVE containers! The Container Store is like Disneyland to me. I love my set of Pyrex glass storage containers:)

I am a containeraholic!! There, now everyone knows. lol. I look for them in every store I go. I prefer light, leak proof, and a see through top. Glass is my favorite, but hard to get a light and leak proof option. I like to be able to microwave things if necessary in the container that I take to work. I have all colors and sizes. I even shop in baby sections as the portions sizes are good for dips and sauces. The metal bento style are fun, but because they can not go to the microwave, that is not my interest.

Ah, containers. How do I love thee; let me count the ways . . . . . .

I make big batches of homemade “frozen meals”, put them in plastic containers and freeze. I use a Sharpie to mark what it is and how many PP it is. Sooo much better than the processed stuff. A magic eraser easily cleans the marker off too! It’s a great system and the Hubbie loves it too (I just love that he does the dishes! :-)).
