30 Stories!!

March 20, 2012 by DanicasDaily 10 Comments

Happy Tuesday all!  It is SO FUN to see so many of you jump on the Stair Challenge and to add in your own twist to it.  I figure if we can all find enough ways to add in activity every little bit adds up especially on the days when we cannot get in a “real” workout per say.

The building I work in actually has 16 floors and a 5 story parking garage.  I have meetings all throughout the day on any of the given floors and I work on the 11th floor.  Each floor has 2 sets of stairs so you really can get in a GOOD workout without even trying.

I was SO SUPER PROUD of the fact that I started off my day with an 8 story trek up (3rd to 11th) to my office then went back and forth to the 5th, 6th and 7th floors all day.

Climbing…..30 stories!!!

Then, I had a totally BLONDE MOMENT in the middle of the day when I was telling my co-worker about using the stairs all day. For some reason in my brain, I was so focused on not taking the inside elevator that I did not even think about the parking garage elevator.

OMG! I park on the 5th floor in the parking garage so Scooter has plenty of room…..now, about those stairs ~ I think I should start parking on the 2nd floor now or something LOL.

Tomorrow I will add in the parking garage stairs too ~ whew!

Breakfast this morning was grab and go ~  a little protein (Morning Star Veggie Sausage ~ 2 points+) and a banana.

Mid morning snacked on an egg

I actually took the time to pack up a delicious lunch of leftover soup, fruit, yogurt and snacks.  But, all that went out the window when my co-worker mentioned Panda Express. The good news is my lunch is already packed for tomorrow Winking smile

You all know I have an unnatural LOVE of Panda especially when I can check off my 5 a day plus healthy oils all in one meal!

Kung Pao Chicken, String Bean Chicken and Steamed Veggies for the Rice/chow mein….

All gets mixed together for one super huge veggie packed Chinese Food Bowl for only 11 points+!

The Husband was in charge of dinner tonight and decided that we should have Spaghetti and Meatballs…..Oh, not those Bacon Ones I keep drooling over ~ he wanted Mary’s Pizza Shack.

I started with my FAVORITE simple salad with 1 Tbsp ranch, fork dipped (4 points+)

Today was totally a BREAD day and I decided I NEEEEEDED it Open-mouthed smile

2 slices with 1 tsp REAL butter (3 points+)

The Husband and I shared their Spaghetti with meatballs (built in portion control when you share!)  Our waitress was awesome enough to put it in our own mini pasta bowls.

1 ball with about 1 cup of pasta for 9 points+.

How did you all do today with the STAIR CHALLENGE?

No stairs are required ~ just pick one thing you can do to move more ~ take the stairs, park a block away, you name it.

Night all!

I just got two new jobs both about 1.5-2 miles away from my apartment. I’m trying to walk to work as much as possible instead of driving!

P.s. what makes that simple salad so good? It looks easy enough to re-create at home no?

      Hi Robin,

I agree – it’s so simple but there is something about THAT salad that isn’t the same when you remake it. I am sure it’s the whole when someone else makes it, it’s better lol.

It is only 7am but your spaghetti and meatballs has me very hungry! Stair challenge is such a great idea! I think I will go up my stairrs in my house a few times extra with the laundry basket.

After I lost 70 pounds on WW, one way I snuck in exercise was to ride my bike to the train (2 miles each way) then walk to my office after I got off the train, which was another mile. So just getting to and from work I snuck in six miles, not to mention I would walk for 45 minutes during my lunch hour.

Now I have to drive – I have all of five steps to leave my house and my office is on the ground floor – so no steps!

I just need to get my ass in gear and get to the gym before work so I am assured a workout in the event that work gets in the way.

Um, why can’t I win the lottery?! 😀

Hey Danica – Just a question: I am new to WW – how did you get 3 points + for 2 slices of bread and butter? Thanks!

      Hi Kristin,

In the WW Tracker when you look up sour dough baguette it comes up at 1 points+ a slice. 1 tsp of butter is 1 slice as well so it totals to 3 points+.

Sharing is def a way to keep the calorie count down- great idea! Today I’ve been using the printer downstairs versus right down the hall- work it!

We went to Mary’s today for lunch. We drove from Mendocino to SF and stopped at the one in Cloverdale. I loved the salad, but didnt love the pizza. The crust was great, but I didnt love the sauce. It was tangy and not too flavorful. The bread was good though. I went because of always seeing you go!! We dont have them in Socal.

      Hi Randi,

I LOVE their salad and agree the pizza is just ok. I do LOVE their meatballs and the pesto breadsticks too!

Hope you are having a great vacation!
