So I completely felt the need to change things up this morning and have a breakfast that was different from yogurt, cereal or eggs. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE breakfast and I LOVE all those things, but, I was craving TWO things……
Kashi Strawberry Flax Protein Waffles x2 (3 pts)
And ALMOND BUTTER! I never realized I’d miss nut butters so much until I decided to NOT have them for a week 🙁 So, I took an almost empty jar and added a chopped organic fuji apple (3 pts) ~ SOO GOOD that it makes me want to empty my other jars just to do it all over again.
Who needs to rinse their jars to recycle when you have me to clean them?! LOL
Today was officially the LONGEST day ever and I know it’s because I am counting the days. i NEED to just not think about our holiday shutdown and that we are getting 11 DAYS OFF starting with Christmas eve 😀 😀 😀 I am only a “”little” excited for it but the waiting is so hard.
Continuing on my quest to finish my shopping at lunch, I ran around everywhere to find some things for The Husband. I made a planned stop at Whole Foods for their soup bar.
Today’s mix was FANTASTIC as always ~ 1/2 Southwestern Chicken & White bean with 1/2 ey Chili……..Thick, chunky and good. I had 1/2 for lunch and the other half for dinner. (4 pts a cup)
With Corny Corn Bread (3 pts per 1/2)! You have to have sweet corn bread with bean soups, dontcha think?
I also made a stop in Trader Joe’s and picked up stuff to make up Pasta salad plus these Short Bread Cranberry Thins. I seriously need to STOP with the cookies already.
Decent stats and ingredient list for being a treat.
I took two one HUGE and gave the box to my co-workers. My thighs will thank me later and now my co-workers LOVE me LOL.
When I got home I whipped up a patch of my VEGAN Pasta Salad for a Christmas party we are going to tomorrow night. We were told we can’t show up unless I bring “THAT” delicious pasta salad we brought last time ~ funny!
I completely wanted to curl up in a blanket, read and do nothing, but, The Husband talked me into shopping. He bought me a 3 pt Grande FF Decaf Latte with Caramel drizzle on top for being a trooper 🙂 I am so easily bribed with food – ha!
And now, for the KNOCK KNOCK winner…..one winner was randomly drawn using random.org.
#15 Janetha
Thanks to all those who played along in my Knock Knock Giveaway. No worries, if you didn’t win, you can enter the code “FIVEBUCKS” and receive $5 off your order. Any orders over $50 will receive FREE shipping too 🙂
Brandi is also hosting another Knock Knock Giveaway too so you can always check hers out!
Before I got tonight, I wanted to tell you all to check out Holly’s Christmas Challenge. I LOVE her and her site ~ she is seriously amazing. However, what, she is doing for Christmas and her birthday this year completely blew me away. Instead of asking for presents from anyone, she is selflessly asking her friends/family to donate $$ to help build a well in Cambodia. She has almost reached her goal of raising $1,000 by Christmas. Check out her story and if you can help out, the minimum donation is only $10.
I am FINALLY off to read and relax but will probably pass out before I accomplish either. Be sure to check back in the AM for another GIVEAWAY ~ but it’s only ONE DAY!
Nite all!

Ok Danica I found your site yesterday with the banana ice cream & now I can’t stop reading & checking out your recipes!!!! There is not much online for recipes with points+! We share a love for starbucks decaf lattes! We actually just got a new espresso machine for Christmas so I have been making them at home which is saving me a bundle, but I still do like to have them when I am out & about shopping! How do you figure your point calculations for things like a Starbucks latte? I’d love a little latte chart or something to be able to see points for different lattes at Starbucks! Also since you have springboard I decide to download it because I’ve been meaning to anyway for a while now for our meal planning & my daily lists, but I can’t clip your recipes, or find much help on the springboardit site, what am I missing? I’m tech challenged! Thanks! Keep up the good work!

HI Erica,
Thanks for the comment and compliments! I am definitely glad to have you as a reader and fellow Starbuck’s latte lover. That is a great idea to create a starbuck’s list – I never even thought of doing that. Here are a few ideas that come to mind. I calculate my points+ for my drinks by either looking at Weight Watchers online in my tracker or going to starbucks.com and checking the nutritional information.
It really depends on what you like. Some people will substitute the sugar free syrups to add sweetness without tons of points. I do not do sugar free so I do not use this option, but, it’s there with all their “skinny” drinks. Another way to save is to ask for only the amount of pumps of syrups that you really need. I do this with my dirty latte. I add one pump of mocha to get all the chocolate flavor and sweetness of a mocha without all the points. This works for any syrup as well as chai tea lattes too. 1-2 pumps is usually plenty.
Here are some of my favorite low point options to get at Starbuck’s.
* All coffees, unsweetened teas and Cafe Americanos – hot or cold are 0 points+
* Cafe Misto and Cappucino’s range from 1-2 points+ depending on the size
* My TWO favorite drinks are hot lattes (fat free) with caramel sauce drizzled on top or with 1 pump of mocha. Tall hot = 2 pts+, grande hot = 3 pts+, grande iced = 2-3 pts+ and venti iced = 3-4 pts+
* Light Frappucino’s are another option and are fairly low in points with coffee flavor being the lowest.
* You could try a Vivano smoothie but it’s just not coffee to me 🙂
Last but not least, you can go to Starbucks.com and look up the nutritional information for your favorite drink and test out how to lighten it up. For example, use fat free milk and skip the whip.
I know I definitely NEED to work on a way to make it easier to print my recipes. The best advice I can give you for now is to highlight/select the text you want to print and print selection or to copy it and paste it into a word document to save the recipes. I hope to get my print recipe function button working with my new upgrade.
Thanks for asking and definitely share any good Starbuck’s ideas you find 🙂
