Happy Saturday all! We have had such a busy, but, completely productive day. I am totally a “Lists Person”. I pretty much make up lists for everything and don’t even get me started on Post-It Notes. The Husband is probably worse than me with Post It’s and Sharpe Pens ~ he uses his Post-It’s for little notes to me ~ I use them for well, um to make lists for my lists…lol! As much as I LOVE technology, there is just something so satisfying about making up a list and checking it off.
Before heading out the door to tackle our todo list, I whipped up Egg-Wiches for us. Oh how I’ve missed them….
- 2 slices Trader Joe’s FF Multi-Grain Bread (3 points+)
- 1 “fried” egg (2 points+)
- 1/2 Tbsp Whipped Butter (1 points+)
After running all around town and cleaning house, we decided we earned lunch at Panera!
I got my usual Pick 2 ~ Soup and Salad. I have decided I am totally going to re-create this BBQ Chicken salad because I am IN LOVE with it!
1/2 a BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad ~ chicken, romaine lettuce, roasted corn, black beans, tortilla strips & BBQ ranch dressing, drizzled with BBQ sauce.
Low-Fat Chicken Noodle
Since I was really hungry today, I went with the Whole Grain Baguette over the apple. It was warm, toasty, crunchy, doughy and good!
Using Panera’s Nutrition Calculator, my lunch came up to 12 points+ and worth every single one!
We made sure to save our Costco trip for AFTER lunch so we wouldn’t be as tempted by the samples. I will confess I did have the PopChips Sample and a piece of Tri Tip. Considering they had the sample people on like EVERY corner, I consider that a success!
For dinner, The Husband grilled up these super cute Thin Pork Chops we picked up at Trader Joe’s. My Mini Chop was 1 ounce for 1 points+.
I had planned on making these Garlic Fries for our side, but, when, it came down to it we both decided we wanted Harvest Grain Salad (4 points+).
I will be updating my Recipe Page Soon to add in this salad ~ it’s awesome!
Corn on the cobb! I decided tonight, frozen is just not the same as fresh. The Husband told me I am just spoiled on Farmer’s Market corn that is picked that day…..maybe! (1 points+)
After dinner, I experimented making these 1 points+ Mini Strawberry Muffins for my Weight Watchers meeting tomorrow. I am serving them up with Homemade 1 points+ Strawberry Butter and Homemade 0 points+ Homemade “Strawberry Cream Cheese” (using Greek Yogurt).
Recipes coming up soon!
I am pretty sure tomorrow is going to be even busier than today since we are heading to out to the Alameda Antique Fair, then, over to our friends for a Super Bowl Party.
Q’s
Are you a “Lists” Person? If so, what do you use your lists for? I am ALWAYS looking for more ways to “justify” my lists
Night all!
I am but now i’m more technical – i actually have post its ON my computer screen instead of attached. I also have a few apps for lists. Yes, more than one app. LOL. I shouldn’t look at your food pics on an empty stomach!
I love lists, too! I make lists for the week’s bfast, lunch, and dinner. Then I make the grocery list to correspond. Once, I spent hours upon hours making a “monthly” meals and groceries list. I made rotating meals for Sundays through Fridays (eat out on Sat of course – ha), 3 meals a day. THEN I made an entire new list of all the foods I would need to purchase at the grocery store to have the ingredients on hand to make those foods. I used it one month and that was it. LOL. But I loved making the lists. I homeschool, so lately I have been making schedules and lists of ideas for my schedules, next year’s curriculum, etc. I do my lists on the computer, but then I print them and check accomplished things off. If I text my husband things to get from the store, I go to the next line for each separate item, completely making it in LIST format. Haha. 🙂 I keep a magnetic list on my fridge to write down things that we need to purchase as we run out. Feels SO GOOD to at least look organized! 🙂
Not so much a “to do” list type of guy, but I do make a shopping list and eat before the trip/event. I eat before shopping in order to reduce the impulse buys. I’m good at resisting the samples at every corner, but find that I tend buy a LOT more when I am hungry verses when I’m full and able to stick to the planned grocerly list. As always, we love your site, recipes, humor and motivation. Thanks!
I am an obsessive list maker! I get tremendous satisfaction from crossing off things on my list. I’m with you…old school lists are better than new technology anyday.
I am totally a list person- in my calendar, on paper, in my phone… Color-coded for home/ work/ personal 😛 It’s too much for some but for me it works! A list of to-do’s, a grocery list, blog ideas, wedding ideas…
I couldn’t survive without lists either. If I don’t write it down, it probably won’t get done. I just can’t keep it all in my head, plus it’s so satisfying to check things off.
Thanks for taking the time to photograph all the great food you eat, and taking the time to post. I envy the variety you interject into meals – I tend to eat the same things over and over and your blog has been really inspirational. If only we had a Trader Joe’s in my part of the world!!! (Or a Whole Foods.)
Great timing.. I was actually just googling “yogurt strawberry muffins” ! I guess that goes to show I’m craving some warm, summer weather.
I am DEFINITELY a list person.. every little thing has to be on a list or it never gets finished! 🙂
Have you ever tried Panera’s Thai Chopped Chicken Salad? It’s my absolluuuute favorite salad ever. The roasted edamame and carrots are spectacular! And if you get the “peanut drizzle” on top, no need for the dressing. Although the dressing is great too!
ZipList … for my recipes & shopping list (iPhone & web). Can’t live without it. If I could only figure out how to make it my “to-do” list app too.
I’m am SUCH a lister. A friend of mine jokes, that I make lists of my lists. 🙂 Have a great Sunday Danica.
That Harvest Grain mix from TJ’s is the best, can’t wait to see the recipe for your salad. Yes, I’m definitely a list person. Nothing I like more than seeing everything in one spot and, even better, things crossed off as I complete tasks. Roz, I used to say that about my mom–lists of lists 🙂
That bread is so good at Panera. I love all the little seeds in it. I am a little bit obsessive with lists. I have a list for everything!
SUCH a list person! I can’t even use the calendar feature on my phone because I need to write it down & see the calendar as a whole, which I can’t on my phone. My Husband keeps a little notebook with him & I leave pieces of paper everywhere. 😀
That whole grain baguette caught my attention…now I’ll be dreaming of that all day!
Can’t wait for the recipes for the muffins!
I Love Panera Bread–I had no idea they had whole grain baguettes–I always know I should chose the apple but the baguette is my favorite–will look into the whole wheat one next time. I will also have to try the salad–it looks great!
Totally a list person! An app I bought recently is CrossItOff. I have the lite version and made it into my master Costco list on my iPad. I can take my iPad with me into Costco and cross off an item (items are listed in order of the store aisles) as I grab it. Great app!! My husband is also a list guy. He took pics of the all the aisle signs in the 2 local grocery stores we go to the most and made corresponding master grocery lists for the two stores with aisle numbers and main items on the lists. He then put blank lines below where we add our needed items. This makes it so quick and easy to shop. We have given copies to all our friends after they have seen them at our house on the fridge. 🙂
