Bits and Pieces

April 18, 2012 by DanicasDaily 12 Comments

Happy Wednesday all!  Tonight’s post is going to be FAST since I am just now getting to it and need to catch some zzzzz’s for my 5 AM treadmill session.

Since I had to drive into the office today, I decided to get a “Buck’s” for the road.

How many of you knew that a fat free latte hot or cold is a Simply Filling Food? Total justification to add one to your day and check off your dairy too LOL>

Venti Iced Dirty Latte (Nonfat, decaf, latte with 1 pump Mocha) (4 points+) ~ You would count 1 WPA for the mocha if you are following Simply Filling.

I rounded out my breakfast with 2 more Simply Filling Foods ~ a perfectly hard boiled egg and a banana (2 points+)

IMG_8878

3 hours later I was starving and I knew I would not be having lunch for 2 more hours.

Snacks ~ Organic Pink Lady Apple with a Sargento Lite String Cheese (1 points+) ~ count 1 WPA for the cheese on Simply Filling or have Fat Free Cheese and count nothing.

For some reason my brain was really NOT functioning at all this morning.  I managed to put together a few Bits and Pieces this morning to make up what I had for lunch.  The result was actually pretty tasty, but, it was a little too light on protein to keep me satisfied for long.

I started with a big salad topped with crunchies (1 Tbsp Black Pepper Almond Slices and 1 Tbsp “fried” onions) (2 points+).

Drizzled with 2 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Low-Fat Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette (2 points+)

IMG_6520

With a Side of the Weight Watchers Pinch of Pepper Pretzel Crisps we got on Sunday and 2 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (5 points+)

IMG_6525

I LOVE this hummus and the Spicy Hummus….both have peppers or salsa in the middle to add in extra flavor.

IMG_6468

1 Points+ per Tablespoon and it’s delicious as a veggie/chip dipper, on sandwiches or in wraps.

IMG_6473

I am not really sure I really tasted any black pepper on the pretzels, but, they were pretty delicious when dipped in the red pepper hummus.

IMG_6529

Dessert ~ watermelon and cantaloupe.

IMG_6531

My entire day was 100% on track and I was feeling good about my day.  I had some of my favorite almonds planned for snack and thought for some reason I could have just one……

One, led to two, which led to 3++….The ONE thing that saved me from going to town on the candy dish was lining the wrappers up on my desk so I have a visual picture of how many MINI’s I was eating.

When I saw 6, I stopped *sigh* Counted the 6 points+ and made myself commit to tracking every single one as much as I wanted to forget about “my moment”.

IMG_6428

When I walked in the door, The Husband had dinner ready ~ I LOVE him!  He seriously knows how to make long days better…..

IMG_6537

Then again, I also know pulling out his FAVORITE Bill Bailey’s Carne Asada out of the freezer this morning would encourage him to get his grill on Open-mouthed smile

Carne Asada Taco Salads

  • Organic Mixed Greens, Romaine, Carrots, Red Cabbage & Rainbow Slaw
  • Organic Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 oz LF Cheese (2 points+)
  • 4 oz Bill Bailey’s Carne Asada (4 points+)
  • 4 Tortilla Chips crumbled for crunch (1 points+)
  • 2 Tbsp Newman’s Lite Lime Vinaigrette (2 points+)

TODAY’S STAT’S (12 am – 930 pm)

Yesterday my average calorie burn was 1.6 calories/min.  Today it was 1.2 cal/min ~ pretty amazing how different a day off without exercise or walking to the train makes.

  • Calories burned 2,179 (compared to yesterday’s final total 3,231)
  • Steps Taken 2, 532
  • Sleep Efficiency 79%, 5 hr, 45 min
  • 31 Daily points+ used

Night all!

I have been reading your blog for a few months now. I love it. I don’t know here to get trader joe stuff here where I live. But your always giving me some new ideas! Thanks!!!!!

I have been doing WW on and off since 2008. I don’t pay membership to them, but I just follow the materials on my own. It helps reading blogs like this.

Your doing great by the way!

I made your Chicken Cilantro Pot Sticker Soup last night. So good!!! I forgot to add the spinach (was in a major rush to get dinner done), so I guess I will just have to make it again this weekend! 🙂

Curious…when you list the sleep from your new BM..(heehee)…do you manually put the time in you sleep or how does that work?

      HI Cindy,

Nope, no calculating for sleep on my part. You would just wear the BM device to bed and it can tell when you are sleeping/not, then, it calculates the % you are actually lying down versus sleeping. It’s really interesting to learn that part for me as I think I actually sleep less than I thought I did.

    Hi Danica,
Again I want to thank you for this great website. Your daily posts have helped me to stay on track and lose the last pounds that I needed. The ideas and recipes are great. I even started taking pictures of my foods and I am making a meal album, so when I am not sure what to eat for those points, I have it in my picture album. Your posts, food and stories are great and I will get a BM 🙂 like yours to help me even more.
Tell your husband that we appreciate him too. Like you, I have a great, supportive husband and that makes all the difference.
Thank you and have a great day!

Don’t you just love Trader Joe’s? I think it might be my favorite grocery store. I have to try the spicy peanut dressing. I have never had that before.
