BLT’s ~ Little things add up!

September 11, 2009 by DanicasDaily 6 Comments

I finally updated the nutritional stats on my recipes yesterday so if you were waiting, be sure to go back and check out the Super E-Z Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Filet Mignon with Cheesy Bacon Smashed Potatoes if you were wondering.

I am so glad today is Friday and the weekend is finally here!  I woke up ready for my last workout of the week and totally ready to close out Week 3 of the BFL challenge.  I feel like my week 3 hasn’t been as successful as I would’ve liked so I am ready to move on and start fresh with a new week.  But, not before my FREE DAY tomorrow!

For my HIIT this morning I decided to mix it up a little and do some Power Hills.  These ALWAYS make my bootie burn and feel so much harder than when you run fast.

** Happy Faces are level 8 – that’s fun that 8 ) equals a 8) LOL

minutes 1 & 2: 3.5 mph @ 0% grade(level 5)
minute 3: 3.8 mph @ 6% grade (level 6)
minute 4: 3.9 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 5: 4.0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 6: 5.0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 7: 3.8 mph @ 6% grade (level 6)
minute 8: 3.9 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 9: 4,0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 10: 5.9 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 11: 3.8 mph @ 6% grade (level 6)
minute 12: 3.9 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 13: 4.0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 14: 5,0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 15: 3.8 mph @ 6% grade(level 6)
minute 16: 3.9 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 17: 4.0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 18: 5.0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 19: 6.0 mph @ 10% (level 10)  – I think at this point, my legs burned off and ran away.
minute 20-21: 3.0 mph @ 0% grade (cool down)

I was STARVING by the time I got to work so I whipped up a Meal #1 @ 7:45 am.

IMG_1678

1/2 c Trader Joe’s Low-Fat Greek Yogurt

1/2 c Trader Joe’s Low-Fat Cottage Cheese

1 tsp Agave Drizzle

1 serving Nature’s Path Organic Flax Plus

Mixed all together and enjoyed with a BIG Cup of Sunshine ~ 1/2 decaf Starbuck’s & 1/2 hot water.  I honestly call this work mug the Sunshine Mug – no clue why since it’s lemons but that is what I think EVERY TIME I get it 😀

IMG_1679

You would’ve thought I didn’t eat breakfast at all.  I was starving again and tried to hold out as long as I could for Meal #2 @ 10:00 am.  I traded in my planned snack of yogurt and fruit for this AMAZINGNESS!

IMG_1681

My co-worker bought some WW Pita Bread and Spicy Hummus with Harissa from The Hummus Guy.  She shared with me!

1/2 slice toasted warm WW Pita BREAD

2 Tbsp Slather Spicy Hummus with Harissa

1 Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Chicken Burger

Sprinkle of Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

This was SO GOOD I cannot even describe it.  All I know is that it was totally worth trading in part of my lunch to have it!  I was having the Chicken Burger with lunch.

I pondered having a sweet potato with cottage cheese and greens for lunch but decided a trip to Whole Foods would be WAY BETTER!  When I walked in the door they were having a special on their Heirloom Tomatoes and they had THESE awesome samples out.

Heirloom Bruschetta on Lemon Basil Bread with Balsamic Syrup! Ummm, ya, I had one and bought everything to make these for my FREE day tomorrow – So, SO GOOD! BLT #1

IMG_1687

When I got back to the office, I got made fun of for plating my Whole Foods eats ~ whatever.  I had 1/2 c brown rice

IMG_1688

With 1/2 a Grilled Thai BBQ Salmon Piece.  I ate it cold and guess what ~ it wasn’t too bad – still “fishy” but not bad.

IMG_1689 IMG_1690

I also made up a BIG salad with every vegetable and a little Edamame to go with my salmon and rice.  I drizzled it with a little Benissimo Blueberry Balsamic Vinegar.

 IMG_1691 IMG_1692

Yup, that would be a GIANT Mozzarella Ball in there.  I couldn’t resist adding one from the Caprese salad they had.  This might have been the highlight of my meal! IMG_1694

Until I stole a couple of the marinated mushrooms I bought for The Husband.  YUM!  I LOVE FUNGUS! 😀 BLT #2

IMG_1695

I worked like a mad woman this afternoon determined to get the one project done I needed to get done before vacation done.  (Wow, I used “done” THREE times in one sentence!)  I was still hungry after lunch but I drank water and hot decaf tea to entertain my mouth.  I was a nice co-worker today and brought my almonds into share with everyone.  I had a couple too (BLT#3)  *sigh*I may or may not have had a dark chocolate wedge too (BLT#4 ~ Let the BLT’s continue…….

IMG_1650

When I got home we had to head back out to take our nephew out to get an early birthday gift.  I was STARVING since I worked late and didn’t eat a real Meal #4.  So, I grabbed 2 Sargento Low Fat String Cheeses and a nectarine as we headed out the door. IMG_1696

After shopping we grabbed a quick dinner.  I pondered not eating anything and waiting until we got home.  But, when I got inside and smelled the deliciousness, I HAD to have something.  I ordered 2 tacos on corn tortillas (no whole wheat option :() for Meal #5 @ 8:45 pm and then proceeded to gobble them down BEFORE I remembered to take a picture….Boooo!

My BLT snacking is officially done and I am not having Meal #6 since I am not hungry.  I am off to relax with The Husband and find something other than Football on TV 😀

STAT RECAP coming tomorrow.

See you all tomorrow for Farmer’s Market, Free Day Fun!

QUESTION SOF THE DAY:

1.  What is your favorite lunch to get at Whole Foods or any grocery store when you need something quick and healthy?

2.  How do you control BLT’s (Bites, Licks Tastes)?  Do you give in?

I love the whole food salad bar, it's my favorite! They also have really good sushi + wraps.

BLTS during the week aren't too hard to stay away from as long as I tell myself that I WILL get my free day on Saturday, and I'm doing this to be fit +healthy… I don't want to mess that up!

Have fun on your free day =)
