“Break out the Crayons!”

January 29, 2011 by DanicasDaily 15 Comments

Happy Friday all!  Thanks for sharing in the laughs with me this morning on Facebook and Twitter when I told you all I forgot my camera.  It’s pretty rare that I am caught without it EVER, but, somehow I managed to leave it at home.

Tiffany’s response cracked me up when she said “Better break out the crayons!” so I could still show you all my food.  OMG, I totally wanted to sketch a picture for you Tiff….if only I had ANY drawing skills at all Smile

I actually managed to make sure I ate things that I already had pictures of so I could “recycle” my pictures to tell you all about my day.  I used my phone for the things I didn’t have so in the end it all worked out.

Grande Nonfat, Decaf, Dirty Latte (4 points+)

I actually had boiled up a bunch of perfectly hard boiled egg on Sunday and forgot about them until today!  It was kind of a nice surprise realizing it this morning and that I could have “bacon n eggs” for breakfast.

2011-01-28_08-12-06_863

* Hard Boiled Egg with sea salt & black pepper (2 points+)

* FOUR slices of Trader Joe’s Peppered Turkey Bacon (2 points+)

* Banana ~ FREE!

I honestly think I could eat this EVERY day ~ it was THAT good and it kept me full for 5 hours.

Today rounded out all the lunches out that I had planned with my friends.  I made sure I picked a place that I already had pictures of what I knew I would order Open-mouthed smile

We went to the BEST Taco Place in town….TR2!

I portioned out my 12 Tortilla Chips and Salsa..breaking them into pieces and crunchy away as we chatted it up. (4 points+)

Chips and salsa

I got the “usual” 2 melt in your mouth, spicy & delicious shredded chicken tacos ~ Mexican Style (with hot sauce, guacamole, cilantro, onions & cojita) (10 points+)

I actually planned on cooking dinner tonight until The Husband asked if I wanted to go on a “date” with him Open-mouthed smile  I know I definitely NEED to get back in the kitchen, but, sometimes it’s kinda nice to not have to cook at all.

Did I tell you all that they FINALLY built a Buffalo Wild Wings in town?!  In the past we were only able to get our WING fix in Las Vegas. SO EXCITED!!!

I had ONE of The Husband’s Medium Classic Wings (3 points+)

IMG_5394

Then, I picked what I felt was the healthiest option on the menu ~ the Grilled Honey BBQ Chicken Salad.

IMG_5401

The BBQ Sauce & Pico De Gallo gave the salad so much flavor that I never even needed the dressing.  I am not usually a fan of iceberg lettuce, but, it really worked with this salad.

Deliciousness!  I estimated my points+ based on what I found on livestrong.com ~ it probably is less than 11 points+ since I didn’t use the dressing, but, I am counting it all to be on the safe side.

After dinner we watched The Dilemma.  I LOVE Vince Vaughn and kinda think Channing Tatum is a cutie, but, the movie was just ok.  There are funny parts, but, they show most of them in the previews and some of it is all serious.  Definitely better as a DVD rental, I think.

Q’s

Have you ever forgot your camera when you needed to have it?  What did you do?

I have ONLY forgotten my camera about 2 times and my phone works as a good substitute.  The WORST thing I’ve ever forgotten was my camera battery charger when we went on vacation.  I had The Husband’s mom go to our house to mail it to us!

I have a couple of FUN GIVEAWAYS lined up for you all ~ starting this weekend!

Night all!

We couldn’t decide to se The Dilemma in the theaters or wait for it to rent because it looked like it could go either way. THanks for your review. I think we will see No Strings Attached tonight now. 🙂

how do you cook your bacon? it looks so yummy and crispy, but I can’t imagine having to fry only 4 pieces! I forgot my camera on Easter once. I wasn’t worried because I have a cousin who always has his camera and takes fab photos also…only problem HE FORGOT IT TOO! So there are no pictures of Easter two years ago 🙁

I think I will copy your breakfast tomorrow. That looks like the perfect balance of sweet/savory! I once needed my camera for an event my son was at and had to buy a disposable one on the way to the event because I had no time to go back. , of course the pictures weren’t great but we have the memories!

LOL – glad you got a giggle. I’m totally digging your bacon and will have to pick some up thus week. I’ve been baking it in the oven lately, and it’s so easy. Not sure how you’ve been making it.

    Thanks for the linky love!
(finally figuring out how many PP I can really eat and left 26 weeklies in the bank for a loss of 1.8! Woot!)

I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoy this site . I just joined WW two weeks ago with a goal of losing the 10 lbs put on when I quit smoking last year. As a startbucks, trader joe’s loving vegetarian who never had a pound to lose and could for the life of me understand points or counting or tracking, this site is a treat and a half and a much needed tool for me. I love the archives and all the recipes and the pictures. I ‘m now starving of course and we’re about to leave for Trader Joe’s in 1/2 hour, so thank you! 🙂

I’ve never had TJ’s Turkey Bacon. Maybe I should try it. I like Oscar Meyer Center Cut but don’t always buy it.

    Hi Amy,

I cook my bacon in the microwave. Place 2 paper towels on a plate, top with your slices of turkey bacon, top with another paper towel and cook, about 1 minute per slice, give/take.

Tadah ~ crispy, crunchy and no greasy mess!
