Brownie Points!

January 20, 2011 by DanicasDaily 18 Comments

Happy Friday Eve all!  I cannot wait for the WEEKEND….Friday at like 5 PM cannot come soon enough.  Today was quite possibly one of the LONGEST days ever, but, I have to say you all kept me entertained with your “Celebrity Crushes”.  I was totally like oh, who is that?? OHHHHH……all day LONG.  I <3 Google Images…I am pretty sure I added to my list of crushes today Open-mouthed smile

Breakfast was pretty much what you have seen for the past 2 days, but, when something is THIS GOOD, you just can’t get enough of it.

Crunchy, doughy…..“Nooks & Crannies” with whipped buttah (5 points+)

whipped butter

Crispy, salty, peppery Trader Joe’s Peppered Turkey Bacon (1 points)

Trader Joe's Turkey Bacon

Rounded out with refreshing “half a plate” of fruit…..Total Breakfast of Champions!

Breakfast Ideas

Lunch today was like having my BIRTHDAY all over again.  One of my good friends took me out to celebrate at my FAVORITE Taco place ever….TR2!

I portioned out my 12 Tortilla Chips and Salsa..breaking them into pieces and crunchy away as we chatted it up.

Chips and salsa

I got the “usual” 2 melt in your mouth, spicy & delicious shredded chicken tacos ~ Mexican Style (with hot sauce, guacamole, cilantro, onions & cojita) (10 points+)

TR2 Tacos

When I got home, The Husband had another “surprise” up his sleeve ~ He cooked dinner!!!  I have to say that since I started blogging 2 years ago, The Husband has cooked dinner more times than he has in our entire 8 years together….I think it’s because he likes to show you all he can cook too Open-mouthed smile

Simple salad stopped with 1 Tbsp Newman’s Lite Lime Vinaigrette (1 points+)

salad

Since we have had AWESOME spring weather it totally gave him a reason to make one of his FAVORITE meals.

3 oz grilled tri tip, Annie’s Organic Shells & Cheddar and corn on the cobb (12 points+)

BBQ Tri Tip

He totally gets 5 million brownie points because he made me lunch for tomorrow too ~ LOVE!

LAST CHANCE TO ENTER TO WIN THESE SUPER COOL SERVING SPOONS OR WEIGHT WATCHERS DELUXE KIT….Winners drawn & announced tomorrow!

Q’s:

What is the BEST meal you have had that someone else has cooked for you?

Honestly for me, any meal that The Husband cooks is the BEST meal because he doesn’t ever do it and puts so much time into it.  I know it sounds sappy, but, it’s true Smile Next up, is definitely my Mom’s Homemade M&C.

Night all!

My sister makes awesome meals. They’re super fresh tasting and things I normally don’t make myself. I also love my dad’s barbecue!

Wish it was feeling like spring here in Michigan. It was 9 degrees on my way to work this morning and the high for today is 16. Anything my dad cooks on the grill is my favorite meal. Don’t know why it turns out better when he cooks it but it does. Send some of that warm weather East!!

I’m in love with cotija cheese!! Just bought some at TJ’s and I’ve been putting in everything!

My mom makes me the best chicken saltimbocca – chicken topped with proscuitto and cheese 🙂

My husband NEVER cooks….but maybe I intimidate him…IDK. My mom made me homemade cookies for xmas last year, and even though she felt they were far inferior to mine, she still made them and gave them to me as a gift…because no one ever cooks for bakes for me ( I had been complaining) I LOVED THEM…they were the best thing I ever got.

I have to tell you, because of your daily pics of turkey bacon, I decided to try it. Never been much of a fan, but decided to give it a try again. I bough Jennie O lean…2 slices 1 point+, and I liked it. I liked it so much I made a BLT for lunch yesterday on nickels light 35 mulitgrain bread (2p+) with 2 turkey bacon strips (1p+), lettuce and tomato (0 p+) and one tbs of real mayo (1 p+) for a really great 4p+ sandwich!!! I am so going to look for the peppered stuff the next trip I make to TJ’s.

No TJ’s in Florida…I cry when I see all the WONDERFUL items they have that I can’t get! I’m on a quest for a good turkey bacon!!! Also went to 4 stores looking for the Biscoff spread (LOVE LOVE LOVE the cookies already) and I’ve been unsuccessful.

My hubby thinks I’m a dork because I pout that I can’t have all the yummy foods that my friend 🙂 Danica has on WW.

How do you make your turkey bacon so crispy? I haven’t used TJ’s but the ones I have tried seem to either are floppy/soft and not crisp or they start to burn….

My hubby makes the most awesome fried turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He also did some wings in the turkey fryer a couple of weeks ago that were yummy! Turkey fryer and grilling, that’s the extent of his cooking!

My husband pours a MEAN bowl of cereal!! Kidding….but cooking isn’t his thing. To his credit, he cleans up, so I can’t complain!! That said, it IS really nice to come home to a nice meal cooked for you. Have a great weekend, happy friday!!!

The best meal I had was one my husband cooked when I was sick in bed! It was a steak with creamy, mushroomy potatoes and it just hit the spot. He broughtnit to me in bed with hot tea. It was sooooo good and made with love!

    Hi Shannon,

OMG, I know what you mean ~ I think that about Earth Fare 🙂 But, honestly, I LOVE TJ’s so much I would have to stalk them until they built one in my town if it didn’t have one. The Biscoff Spread for now is only available online here (http://www.biscoff.com/DirectionsWEB/webcart_itemBuy.php?itemid=0814) but it is supposed to be in the stores their website shows in two months. It’s 100 million % worth it.

    Hi Judy,

I cook it in the microwave. I place 2 napkins on a plate, top with bacon, then, top with 1 more napkin. I cook around 1 minute per slice give/take as each microwave is different. Jennie-O works the same, but, I LOVE the Trader Joe’s one more.
