Coffee or gas?!

April 25, 2012 by DanicasDaily 13 Comments

Happy Wednesday all!  Thanks for sharing all your Starbuck’s drink ideas on yesterday’s post ~ I have so many new ideas to try ~ as if my “Bucks” addiction wasn’t already too much.  Is that even possible?  I mean you can make almost any drink 0 points+ and I can totally justify checking off a dairy with lattes LOL.

It also totally helps for days like today when I hit snooze one too many times then rush out the door.  Can you believe I actually pondered this…..

I haD time for one thing and only one thing…..COFFEE OR GAS??? Which one do you think one……

I seriously pondered if I could make it to work on my 44 miles remaining….Sad, but, true lol

As I rushed out the door, I snapped a quick picture of my banana as I ate my morning star veggie sausage (2 points+).

I honestly wish I had more of a substantial breakfast since my morning flew by with meetings and the first chance I had to stop was the going away luncheon for my co-worker at Round Table Pizza.

I was way too hungry, but, told myself I needed to start with a BIG salad before I even considered pizza.

In the mix:

  • Salad Greens
  • Tomatoes, Carrots, Cucumber, Bell Pepper
  • 3 bean salad (1 point+)
  • 1 Tbsp sunflower seeds & 1 Tbsp raisins (2 points+)
  • 1 Tbsp Cheese and a few croutons (1 points+)
  • Egg (2 points+)
  • 1 Tbsp Ranch on the side for fork dipping (2 points+)

1 slice medium Hawaiian Pizza & 1 slice medium veggie pizza ~ I may or may not have gone back for another slice and had 1/3 of a cinnamon stick. Not my BEST decisions, but, not bad considering it was an all you can eat buffet and I could’ve eaten a lot more (12 points+)

IMG_6697

Since it was across the street from Starbuck’s and I missed out on getting my fix this morning Open-mouthed smile

Tall, Nonfat, Decaf Latte with caramel drizzle (3 points+) ~ for the record, a tall and grande are the same points+.

When I asked The Husband what he wanted for dinner he told me BFD!!!

For some reason I cannot get into ANY breads since Trader Joe’s ditched my favorite one….It’s like I’d rather just go without.

I decided my Breakfast for Dinner (BFD)  was going to be in the form of a Breakfast Burrito!

I started off with these 1 points+ Sonoma Tortillas I get at Trader Joe’s, then, I layered on 2 Tbsp Low-Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese and 1 slice of Apple Wood Smoked Bacon ~ the real deal!

IMG_6704

Next, add 3/4 cup “fried” Ore Ida Western Potatoes (only 1 points+)

IMG_6708

Finish with 1 scrambled egg with chives…..

IMG_6714

and a little Sriracha to spice things up.

IMG_6719

Wrap it up and enjoy every single HEALTHY cheesy, bacon-y, potato bite for 7 points+!

I have to confess that somehow exercise has fallen off my list this week.  I am making it a point to find “me” time and get my walk on tomorrow!

STATS (12 am – 830 pm)

  • Calories burned 2,288
  • Steps Taken 4,533
  • 32 points+ used (plus, I am adding 5 WPA to the mix since I did get a little crazy at lunch)

Tomorrow is going to be a better day because I am making it all about doing the right things ~ tracking, movin’ it and water.

TWO DAYS left to enter MY GET FIT GIVEAWAY!

Night all!

I have a hard time with bread too (couldn’t ever find your fav TJ’s bread here in STL). I really like the sandwich thins if I am going to go the bread route, but usually I either skip it or if I really want a sandwich I have the REAL thing! lol

Not a coffee drinker but so never had to choose between my diet pepsi or gas (get them at the same place) but a tip for that situation is consider half a tank empty, it is better for your car too! (you don’t get all the junk that settles to the bottom of the tank). I drive 40 miles one way to work so I need gas alot. If I always stay around half a tank then in an emergency (snooze bar 10 time?) I am safe!

I am a Starbucks frappuccino lover but my diet obviously isn’t so fond of them but I found a way around that with this recipe I found on line which is amazing! You get more drink for fewer points (I do weight watchers) I figured it up, a grande caramel Frap with 2% milk and keeping the whip cream is 11 points – my recipe is 6 pts and you get a Venti size!
1 packet chocolate Weight Watchers Smoothie mix
1 packet Starbucks via Instant Iced Coffee mix
    1/4 cup water
    1 cup 2% milk
a couple of handfuls of ice
Put all in blender and blend to desired consistency.
Top with fat free whipped topping and drizzle with Caramel sauce (I use hershey’s)
Now I have one every morning and still lost 4 pounds last week! 🙂

BFD, took me a while to figure it out. lol, Guess my mind was going in another direction! The burrito looks yummy!
As for the gas thing, I do it quite often. After all, the car is telling me I have 44 miles till empty, right?! My hubby gets quite mad at me… I would probably stop for my morning diet pepsi (not a coffee fan) instead of gas….!

Dang! I was just at Trader Joe’s on Tuesday and didn’t know about the 1 pt tortillas. We don’t have a Trader Joe’s around us so whenever we go to St. Louis, (2 hours away) we stock up on Trader Joe’s items. I tried the baked onion rings that you had on here and they are really good. That burrito looks awesome. Your pics are always so nice and pretty! Great color! Thanks for posting.

      HI Cassia,

I picked them up at my local grocery store (Raley’s), but, have also seen them at Safeway, Super Target and Walmart if that helps.

Hey Danica! Can you do a post on some of your favorite “go to” frozen (or) pre-packaged meals? Thanks!

      Hi Tracey,

That is a great idea. I can tell you off the top of my head I LOVE all Amy’s meals, Weight Watchers Thai Chicken Noodles and Lasagna and a handful of Trader Joe’s Frozen meals.
