Daily Snap: Fast Eats

January 10, 2017 by DanicasDaily 10 Comments

Hi all! Today was a very long and busy day that is just now finishing.  My eats did not go according to yesterday’s weekly menu but they were all quick, healthy and making me think, I can’t wait to eat that again!

Snap Recap:

picsart_01-09-11-33-57

B: 1 cup Trader Joe’s Bran Flakes (3 SP), 3/4 c FF milk 2 SP), banana, 1/4 c blueberries

S: unpictured tall Nonfat Cappuccino (2 SP)

L: I love Trader Joe’s Albacore Tuna In Water – the entire 4 oz can is 1 SmartPoint! I make my Tuna Salad like this 2 Tbsp lite mayo, 1 TSP mustard, sprinkles of dill, garlic salt & pepper then add your favorite crunchy fillers – I used red onion, sweet peppers, celery and today banana peppers (4 SP).  Served up with Whole Foods Variety Entertainment Crackers 6 = 4 SP and cucumber chips. Dessert was an apple.

S: Dirty Nonfat latte! (4 SP) with 1/2 dark chocolate with dried cherries 4 SP and so worth it for the good stuff

S2:  Eaten at 8 pm Trader Joe’s Lite String Cheese (2 SP), 2 cuties

D: at 1030 pm heat and eat chicken pot pie (7 SP)

Not too bad for a 32 SmartPoint day working late. 30 daily, 2 weekly’s

Night all!

What is a dirty non-fat latte? I’m so intrigued!

      Hi Erica,

It’s a Nonfat latte with 1/2 – 2 pumps mocha depending on the size you order and taste. It’s so good with just enough chocolate without being overly sweet.

      Thanks,

      Danica

    Danica,

Thanks so much for sharing and helping me get back on track. It is such an inspiration to read your posts. I have already made 2 of the recipes you posted and the chicken pot pie is the next. I even had a coworker ask for the recipe for the Immunity Soup. It is so tasty and filling.

That’s just how I make my lattes at home! I use my skate and weigh only 6 grams (1 tsp) into my mug. I didn’t know I could order it that way at Starbucks! Do you just say dirty or do you say how many pumps?

      Hi Erica,

Some Barista’s know how to make a dirty latte and others do not. I usually order a dirty latte with 1/2 to 1 pump mocha just to maker sure they know much chocolate I want.

Great idea for making them at home and weighing the chocolate!

Danica I have your butternut squash, kale and Italian sausage soup cooking but I was confused about the sausage? Do you slice it, keep it whole, take it out of casing? Recipe really doesn’t say 🙂

      Hi Gail,

Thanks for letting me know. I took it out of the casing, but, it probably works anyway you make used it.

Enjoy! I look forward to hearing what you think.
