Happy weekend & almost Halloween all!!! This has been such a fun filled week loaded with Halloween Treats, creating our “Haunted House” in the office and of course our Costume Contest. I honestly never knew that there were so many ways you could decorate a cubicle until my co-workers busted out their creativity!
Before I start, I just have to say Thanks so much to all of you for being patient and waiting for me to post a recap all at once. I am definitely working on getting back to my daily rambling schedule with you all now that I have a little room to breath.
Get ready because this post is long, corny, a little gory, but, totally fun :D If you see anything you want the recipe for, just leave a comment and I’ll post it for ya.
TREAT WEEK HIGHLIGHTS!!!
We figured the BEST way to get people over to our “Haunted House” was through FOOD! I don’t know about you all, but, I can easily be bribed with food 😀
DAY 1 ~ Decorate your own Halloween Cupcakes & Sugar Cookies complete with homemade Butter Cream Frosting.
DAY 2 ~ Mummy 7-Layer Bean Dip (So easy to make!)
Complete with Red & Green Salsa in Pumpkin Bowls
I served it up with Purple & White Tortilla Chips and Wholly Queso on the side. I couldn’t find “GREEN” tortilla chips so I made my own using Halloween Cookie Cutters, Spinach Tortillas and baking them at 400 for 8 minutes.
DAY 3 ~ MONSTERS!!!
These are so easy to make – you can find the recipe here.
My co-worker made Pumpkin Cake Pops a la Bakerella ~ sans the faces though.
DAY 4 ~ Checker “Bones” Cake
My co-worker makes these cakes using a cool pan insert , I need to find one – so fun!
Zesty’s Caramel Brownies with a Marshmallow Halloween spin.
Can you believe I used an entire jar of Orange Food Coloring and this is as orange as the caramel got? Oh well – you can go wrong with brownies, chocolate, caramel and marshmallows!
After “bribing” everyone with our Ghoulish Eats, it was time to bring them into the Haunted House. We had so much fun decorating and my co-worker has so many cool things!
Yup, we totally put up black sheets with pvc pipe to hang our black curtains!
Then, used fishing line to hang lots of creepy things from the ceiling ~ totally safe 😉
We waited until the final day, to tell the story of the “Massacre at our Haunted House”. We divided our cube into 4 separate rooms ~ The Dining Room, The Living Room, The Bedroom and The Kitchen.
You all ready to follow along….you just have to use your imagination and pretend to hear the Friday the 13th Theme Song as you read 😉
It all started when the “Grim Reapers” girlfriend invited him to dinner.
We had everyone put their hand in the box to tell us what was for dinner….we told them it was brains, guts, fingers, eyeballs (but really, it was cooked spaghetti, green olives and pickles) 😀
After dinner, The Reaper’s Girlfriend scared him by jumping out from behind the couch while they were watching “Friday the 13th”…..It didn’t end well.
And, he decided he needed a nap after all the “fun”.
When he woke up, he headed into the kitchen, grabbed some eyeballs and
Prepared himself a snack…..
Before grabbing his “trick or treat” and heading out the door with his new friend!
Bernie The Crazy Bunny showed up at our door.
And told us to follow the trail of “Bunny Snacks”
Waiving us into their “creepy” cube.
Cubicle #2 ~ The Creepy Hansel & Grettle Gingerbread House!
How wrong is it that they changed the wording on our Annie’s?! So FUNNY!
That bunny did some “crazy” things in the Gingerbread house.
Dried Cranberry Bunny Poos LOL!
After that little trip, the Reaper and Bunny became BFF’s!
I really LOVE how much my co-workers get into decorating their cubicles for Halloween! I work with such cool people.
Cubicle #4 ~ Brujas Brew!
Our Haunted House won the contest ~ I am pretty sure it was the food ;) I am so excited because it’s the first time we’ve ever won and we now get to keep the Fancy Best Decorated Cubicle Trophy!!
After the decorating contest, we had a costume contest. The Husband made my costume ~ I was a Cow-Girl complete with Chaps, a “Dani” Buckle and Chaps! <3 him!
But, my favorite was definitely the “Starbuck’s Cup ~ how cute is she?!
Here was our Halloween Crew!
The day ended with the coolest carved pumpkin ever ~ Bernie the Bunny is the Mascot you see on all our boxes!
Wow ~ who knew I could actually summarize why I’ve had NO TIME all week in one post :) I definitely am ready for life to get back to normal a little….that is until the Holiday Party festivities begin 🙂
Just a few more hours to enter to WIN A WHOLE LOTTA GUACAMOLE!
Night all!
